Transcripción de La Historia en Inglés: Los Secretos Más Curiosos de Napoleón Bonaparte / The Most Curious Secrets of Napoleon Bonaparte Napoleon Bonaparte was one of the most important personalities in history. Recognized as a brilliant military strategist and a French statesman with enormous influence, Napoleon conquered a vast empire through his campaigns. Under his leadership, France established itself as a superpower after enduring the turbulent period of the French Revolution. But, even a figure as monumental as Napoleon had quirks and oddities, and his life was marked by curious and often comic situations. For example, did you know there is a rumor that Napoleon was afraid of cats? According to some accounts, as a child, Napoleon was violently attacked by a cat. Although little evidence supports this claim, the persistence of the rumor adds an interesting and perhaps amusing layer to his story. Napoleon was particularly proud of his hands. He liked their softness and took meticulous care of his nails. His hands were often described as fat and beautiful, with knuckles dimpled like a baby’s and slender fingers that some compared to those of a woman. He avoided wearing gloves, except when horseback riding, and even then, he often kept the gloves in his pocket. One of the strangest episodes of his life occurred in July 1807, after signing the Treaties of Tilsit, which ended the war between the French Empire and Imperial Russia. To celebrate, Napoleon proposed a rabbit hunt, a common pastime at the time. Hundreds of rabbits were gathered in a field, and when Napoleon and his generals arrived, the hunt began. But something strange happened that day. The rabbits did not run away in fear. Instead, they leaped toward Napoleon and his men. To everyone's astonishment, the fluffy horde charged at the emperor and his generals, forcing Napoleon, the most powerful man in the world, to take refuge in his carriage until the situation was under control. Napoleon was known for his seriousness and strict temperament. But behind that facade was a sentimental and romantic man. He wrote passionate love letters and even a romantic novella entitled Clisson et Eugénie. This fictional account of the doomed love between a soldier and his beloved revealed a softer aspect of his character. Napoleon also published his memoirs, wrote a book about Julius Caesar, and even sang, although his singing left much to be desired. Napoleon had the habit of humming out-of-tune melodies, often repeating the same tune for 15 minutes. Those around him found it irritating, but they didn’t dare to complain. He was so off-key that no one could identify the songs, which he would hum incessantly, especially when he was agitated. Napoleon’s influence extended even to the arts. The famous German composer Beethoven initially admired him. Inspired by Napoleon's heroic deeds and democratic ideals, Beethoven dedicated his Third Symphony to him. However, in 1804, when Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of France, Beethoven became disillusioned. He realized that Napoleon was abusing his power to oppress other people and nations. Furious, the composer renamed the symphony Eroica, which he had originally titled Bonaparte. Napoleon's life was a fascinating mix of power, passion, and quirks, reminding us that even the most iconic figures in history are deeply human, vulnerable, and sometimes, a little strange.

Great video, as usual! Honestly I liked more the last video (halo effect) or the other about the neccesity for the doctors of cleaning their hands, but well, it has been interesting . About the lesson, I've understood let's say a 65%-70% The are words for high level as 'fluffy horde' or any other similar, but that is the thing, to face unknown words and expressions to improve!!
☺ ! Vaya con Napoléon! Tout un personnage ! Caras vemos, temores no sabemos.
