That's awesome! I did Powerlines 100's of times when I lived in Perth in my jacked up Patrol, but you guys were certainly taking some different lines with those wide wheel track widths! Good work guys, looking forward to seeing your truck completed 😊

When you see those Mogs tip, do you not have second thoughts about building your box so heavy, or at least skinning it with steel? You're going to have a lot of weight high up that could affect the C.O.G. significantly.

Actually not at all. The white mog is a steel box with thicker steel walls than ours. We also built our frame with the shift in COG in mind. We used 2mm thick SHS in all roof members instead of 3mm in the walls and only 1.6mm steel sheets on the roof compared to 2mm on the sides. I also checked our CAD drawings and the COG of the bare box is actually only at 1m high, even though the box is 2.25m tall. That's still under the roof of the cab ;) In the end we want to be able to utilize the mog to it's full ability, and fiberglass or ACP just won't offer the amount of strength necessary to clear the path. The other deciding factor is, ease of repairing the box should there be damage (which is hard to do with 2mm steel sheets). Any mechanic will have a small MIG or stick welder that we can use to patch any holes. I used to do fiberglass work on yachts and therefore know all about what it is good for and how to fix it, and it didn't take me too long to decide against it. We are considering driving this thing back to Europe, so it will need to be as robust as possible :)

Patrick, next time you come to Utah do it in spring or fall and we’ll take you to Moab for some trails that are much more extreme than that one.

Sounds good! Maybe we will have to ship the mog over there so we can winch you guys out if you get stuck ;)

Please cover your winch cable next time. It scares me to see people not cover them.
