I'm surprised to hear that there wasn't a version of Dearly Beloved in Melody of Memories. When MoM's version the song came out I thought for sure that the reason it was so jazzy, faster paced, and different compared to the other versions was to make it a more enjoyable song to play a rhythm game to, but I guess not.
It's especially weird considering they have several tracks from the Piano Collections included, but not Concert Paraphrase on Dearly Beloved, one of my favorite arrangements of the track
Songs you didn't mention that I wanted: Sorcerer's Apprentice, Night on Bald Mountain (both should use the Symphony of Sorcery world), Simple & Clean Planit B Remix, Nacht Flugel (but also literally anything more from KH3/Re:Mind would have been nice).
Yeah I meant to mention, the Symphony of Sorcery neglect was strange, like aren't those tracks public domain? I also would've loved the 0.2 version of Simple and Clean as well, that version goes so hard

20:39 I actually think Edge of Existence is the most popular track from KH3. Seems like everyone loved from what I can tell. I fucking love it and it's my absolute favorite track in any game ever so it was extra disappointing to not see it in MoM.

I was missing all of these as well. Also, the boss fight themes at the Keyblade Graveyard in KH3 (Dawn of Hope, Hearts as One, Forza Finale). They woulda been intense and hard... missed opportunity. I gladly exchange these for the multiple repetitions of Hollow Bastion / Scherzo di Notte (except the OG and the rap, of course)

Like I guess it was too similar to DIsmiss, but they have 3 different versions of the Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion theme so what gives?? Also more TWEWY stuff would've been sick. ALSO I wish it had more cutscene themes. Like there was no Org. XIII theme? So many cool tracks that were missed!

It was fun listening to which tracks you might have liked to see in the game, and I agree that MoM seemed like the prime suspect of all the entries for having post-release support and DLC. Shipmeister's Humoresque really deserves a spotlight with a full stepchart--it's one of my favs too. The point there at 9:20 about the lack of DB did seem like a bit of a missed opportunity--I would have liked the final playable stepchart in MoM to be the swing ver of MoM's DB, but I did appreciate its incorporation into the swing March Caprise during the credits

If we're being very generous, technically dearly beloved is playable in the credits Also, a really obscure song that I would have loved to see in the game is Enter the Void from The Vanitas Remnant fight in Birth by Sleep. That song would have been so good in this game

I'm glad we at least got the KH2 version of "Part of Your World", and I don't think it makes the game actively worse that it's the only one of this bunch, but I'd have still loved more here.

I would have liked to have “Master, Tell Me The Truth” (boss battle music for Armor of Eraqus) from BBS but I think I get why it wasn’t included. Personally I believe that the reason why it wasn’t included was because it just sounds to similar to “Future Masters” which is already in the game. But I totally agree with “Edge of Existence” should have been in the game.
There's so, so many good boss themes missing, especially from DDD and BBS... Also, Darkness of the Unknown 2 is in the game, but not part 1 or 3?! It's so fucking weird.
I was really hoping for Dark Impetus and Enter the Void... Its weird that Enter the Void never showed up again after bbs. At least elements of Dark Impetus got remixed into other songs Battle music from the kh3 keyblade graveyard would’ve been great too like the triple xehanort fight. Ofc some of the best tracks were in remind too, but i guess they probably decided on songs before that even released
I feel you on the dearly beloved. That song is one of the most iconic of the series so I was so disappointed that it wasn't in there. The Pirates theme is just so cool, I just loved when I had to battle heartless/nobodies in that world just to listen to it. I noticed that Deep Jungle wasn't in there. it's not my favorite world but I still enjoyed the music. It's not a song, but why the hell wasn't Team Destiny (Sora, Riku and Kairi) an option?!

My pick for the 100-acre Wood is Bounce-O-Rama (Speed up ver.) from KH2 and I would also throw in the Daybreak Town battle theme, the most wholesome workout anthem you've ever heard!

Great list! I was shocked there was no 100 arce wood, after its large inclusion in the series. That being said, I love the KH2 sped up bounce-o-rama, it slaps
I really like the gummi ship missions from 2 though. 1's was clunky, and I can't exactly play 3 for lack of consoles, but KH2's gummi ship sections were legitimately some of my favorite things in it!
Good list. I totally agree with edge of existence and cavern of remembrance (and the Scala ad caelum field song) - those two slap. But my number one snub - and I cannot understand how it keeps getting overlooked - is night of (or in, I forget) the dark dream from bbs fm (and 0.2). It’s my favourite track in the series.
I've 100% The KH2 gummi ship multiple times because, my 12 year old brain was blown away with the fact that the gummi ship even had a super boss. Plus the music for the KH2 gummi ship felt like you where playing god damn F-Zero X (it might be why I liked it so much because of that similarity in art style and music) Hazardous Highway is so damn good and would totally fit right into F-Zero X.
13:42 Ux is my favorite tittle in the Kingdom Hearts series It has my favorite story, and sadly now it has been shut down. The thing is, that had my favorite part of the story and answered many of my questions from the actual game. I love the characters, the music, and YES! WE NEED KHUX SONGS IN MOM!
The 13th Reflection from 2 Final Mix is one of my favorite battle themes (I prefer the original) and Disappeared (battle theme for Unknown from 1 Final Mix) are two I was very sad that got left out.

i was honestly genuinely upset/surprised when i didnt see more from fragmentary passage. like wave of darkness 1 is amazing and i love it (i think of it as aqua’s battle theme sometimes) but how come we didnt get the world of darkness covers of some songs like enchanted dominion or secret whispers ?
Well, Scala Ad Caelum is another decision that I would have made, it is incredible that I have not remembered until now, but if I had to search inside my heart and be honest with myself, I would say that Oscuritá di Xehanort was one of the Soundtracks that I most expected inside from MoM and I saw that he couldn't make it. I don't have the game, just the demo so I don't know what the distribution is like, if for every 20 normal songs there is 1 of Boss Fight, so "personally" I would have no problem putting it as a normal song if that meant it was there, especially Considering that for the scene, in case it was a song for Final Boss it would be interesting to see 3 vs 3 instead of the other 3 vs 1. Besides, I have a special affection for that soundtrack especially because before hearing it I always told myself "Boss songs sound good on their own but if you combine them they might not be so pleasant" but Oscuritá di Xehanort arrives and closes my mouth (especially the Young Xehanort part). It would have been nice. Very good video
i would cancel the piano rearrangments and the disney sing-a-long songs gladly in excange of songs from the carribean (expecially the KH3 battle theme, so hype), the 100 acre woods and the anti-aqua boss theme... also some of the songs you mentioned here aren't bad choices either.

If I were to guess: the KH3 themes largely didn’t make it in because they didn’t want to animate the super HD worlds of KH3 in the old animation style (hence why the few we do have are all glide stages). That being said, it’s still baffling why they wouldn’t make more glide stages but that’s still my guess
Yeah that was my primary theory as well, either the work of animating the KH3 backgrounds, the KH3 enemies (since enemies only appear on the field stages) or both. We really get into the KH3 stuff in the big review video, but those were our thoughts exactly.
Hearing him talking about the gummi ships is funny for me, because the entire reason that I popped 2.5 in the first time was to do the gummi ship parts.
I haven’t watched the vid yet, but my goodness I desperately wanted the KH3 compilation songs like Oscurita de Xehanort, and Hearts as One? Whatever the Roxas/Xion/Axel combo theme is. Also the Org 13 remixes were glorious and I needed more.

Good news is after about a year's worth of time, the Swing version of Dearly Beloved is coming to MoM, which while is a long time, at least its coming as a playable track
i really wish some of the fantasia songs were included, too (night on bald mountain and the symphony of sorcery songs), as well as the ray of hope remix of simple and clean and the field music of arendelle
There were 5 songs I really wanted, 4 from Birth by Sleep and 1 from DDD. In no particular order: 1 Unbreakable Chains - Ven's final boss theme. Yes, it's just a slower, longer, and slightly less sinister-sounding version of Enter the Darkness, but I wanted it, nevertheless. I love the slow build-up here more than Vanitas' psycho strings at the start of EtD. 2 Unforgettable - that song that plays when you fight that one big boss in Radiant Garden with the whole trio. The violin gives me goosebumps. The song is literally called Unforgettable, HOW TF DID THEY FORGET IT. 3 Hunter of the Dark - the song that plays when you fight that insane thing in the Dark World at the end of the secret episode. Why did they exclude this? It's just such a good track, hooks you instantly and never lets go. Song made me feel like I was literally Aqua, trapped in that horrible place and facing certain death. 4 Dark Impetus - This was the first song that came to mind when I heard about Melody of Memory. I wanted to get wrecked by a rhythm game as badly as I got wrecked by the Mysterious Figure. And there's no excuse for this one being missing, imo. Xemnas gets both Darkness of the Unknown as well as his theme from DDD. For Young Xehanort, we just get his DDD theme which - I mean, it's also a good song, but Dark Impetus is so INTENSE and HARDCORE. GODDAMMIT SQUENIX PLEASE GIVE US THIS SONG AS DLC. 5 The Dread of Night - aka "Are you what's trapping him in that nightmare? 'Cause if you are... I'm what nightmares fear!" aka the first boss in DDD that actually wrecked me and usually gives me at least one game over on subsequent playthroughs. Honestly, I would have rather had this over The Eye of Darkness, which is super underwhelming as a "final" boss theme imo. Also, I agree with Forze del Male's exclusion as being very strange. It's such an iconic boss theme for the series imo. And I too am sad at KH3's treatment in this game. KH3 has my favorite soundtrack in the series, love that orchestral quality, the choir popping in to up the intensity... I was so pissed when I got to those worlds and saw they were all just dive tracks.
One that's always bugged me is how we don't get the bugged version of Wonder Electron and No More Bugs. Would've been nice to hear those versions uncompressed. And while I'm at it, we don't ever get a red version for the System Sector map either.
For me, I wanted No Heart's battle theme and Disappeared, so I guess the other Xemnas songs, but in terms of your list while Rock Titan and Kurt Zisa have Deep End and is one of the songs I wanted, Phantom does not have Deep End as the boss song.
Right next to my fair comment, TWEWY’s own Kingdom Mixes of Twister and Someday would match to Calling Kingdom Mix! Scala battle and field themes are deep as hell.
Love the vids I've been binge watching them. However, I was wondering what your favorite version of dearly beloved is because you mentioned wanting to play Mom's but I doubt that's your favorite version to listen to. Personally I enjoy the one from kh1 simply because of the nostalgia it brings and also just how simple but powerful it feels.
I'll have you know that the gummi ship is actually my favorite part of KH3! It perfectly scratches my itch for exploration in a way that no other game ever has. I unironically want a game that's JUST KH3 gummi ship.
A good scenario for a KHχ DLC pack would be if they'd found Subject X still languishing in one of the cells adjacent to the Chamber of Repose, and had her undergo the same process as Kairi. But Luxu took her away from there, so I guess it's not to be… Oh, and for snubs from your snub list, I gotta rep for the Niceland field and battle themes from KHχ.
I... I like the Gummi missions... Also MoM is missing a lot of music. Really wanted Dark Impetus, 0.2 music, and some orchestra arrangements. What a shame that there's no dlc
Forze dell' Oscurita or Forza Finale man. They were sorely missed. Would have been really cool from a gameplay standpoint having done the Ansem and Xemnas bosses to do a boss that combines the motifs from those tracks.
Ok so most of these can easily be explained. The game is running on already existing assets. That's why the mobile games don't exist in this game, they don't have KH1-2 engine renders of their towns. The Pirates and Acre wood are not liscened to Disney exclusively, especially not the likeness of the pirates themselves. at the start of KH1-3 there's the copyright agreement terms before the menu, that includes products that they are purchasing Deep jungle, Acre wood, Pirates and even Nightmare before Christmas are on that list. Only one of those liscenses made it into the game.
I'm curious. Why is there a rights problem with Pirates of the Caribbean? Doesn't Disney already own that? I mean, it's based on a ride in their own theme park.
I was REALLY looking forward to the Dark Aqua theme and/or the song that plays when you fight the Nort Court (sorry I don’t remember the titles). I was immensely disappointed when I got neither. But I agree, I do love the game regardless.
The latter is Oscurita di Xehanort (and/or Forza Finale), and I agree, I feel like it could have been an awesome inclusion. Game definitely feels unfinished, but is fun regardless.
My biggest disappointment in the track listing is the lack of "Master of Masters". Not only is that a sick-ass track that goes to some super weird, super cacophonous and free-jazzy places, but also...I mean, come on, its abbreviation is the same as this game's abbreviation.
@@RegularPat it's especially surprising to me, considering how much the game seemed to not only be a celebration of the series' music but also its characters, as well as essentially a bridge to the next phase of the franchise. This song as at least a stage you could synthesize (probably with Back Cover footage in the background) would be totally in line with that, especially considering how much the periphery stuff has been pushing MoM as the next big potentially antagonistic force.
I screamed when I saw there were both versions of Rage Awakened (which sound basically the same imo, they change up almost nothing) and no Forze del Male.

I would have liked to have “Master, Tell Me The Truth” (boss battle music for Armor of Eraqus) from BBS but I think I get why it wasn’t included. Personally I believe that the reason why it wasn’t included was because it just sounds to similar to “Future Masters” which is already in the game. But I totally agree with “Edge of Existence” should have been in the game.
There's so, so many good boss themes missing, especially from DDD and BBS... Also, Darkness of the Unknown 2 is in the game, but not part 1 or 3?! It's so fucking weird.
I was really hoping for Dark Impetus and Enter the Void... Its weird that Enter the Void never showed up again after bbs. At least elements of Dark Impetus got remixed into other songs
Battle music from the kh3 keyblade graveyard would’ve been great too like the triple xehanort fight. Ofc some of the best tracks were in remind too, but i guess they probably decided on songs before that even released

I feel you on the dearly beloved. That song is one of the most iconic of the series so I was so disappointed that it wasn't in there. The Pirates theme is just so cool, I just loved when I had to battle heartless/nobodies in that world just to listen to it. I noticed that Deep Jungle wasn't in there. it's not my favorite world but I still enjoyed the music.
It's not a song, but why the hell wasn't Team Destiny (Sora, Riku and Kairi) an option?!
Yeah!! I would have really loved if that was a final team you could unlock. They even could have just used the KH2 models for that.

My pick for the 100-acre Wood is Bounce-O-Rama (Speed up ver.) from KH2 and I would also throw in the Daybreak Town battle theme, the most wholesome workout anthem you've ever heard!

I really like the gummi ship missions from 2 though. 1's was clunky, and I can't exactly play 3 for lack of consoles, but KH2's gummi ship sections were legitimately some of my favorite things in it!

Good list. I totally agree with edge of existence and cavern of remembrance (and the Scala ad caelum field song) - those two slap. But my number one snub - and I cannot understand how it keeps getting overlooked - is night of (or in, I forget) the dark dream from bbs fm (and 0.2). It’s my favourite track in the series.
I would've loved to see tracks from Disney Castle, since we already have Timeless River.
I've 100% The KH2 gummi ship multiple times because, my 12 year old brain was blown away with the fact that the gummi ship even had a super boss. Plus the music for the KH2 gummi ship felt like you where playing god damn F-Zero X (it might be why I liked it so much because of that similarity in art style and music)
Hazardous Highway is so damn good and would totally fit right into F-Zero X.

It has my favorite story, and sadly now it has been shut down. The thing is, that had my favorite part of the story and answered many of my questions from the actual game. I love the characters, the music, and YES! WE NEED KHUX SONGS IN MOM!

What I found odd is that "One Winged Angel" didn't have a boss fight. you collect 280 stars leading up to it and then it just a normal run
The 13th Reflection from 2 Final Mix is one of my favorite battle themes (I prefer the original) and Disappeared (battle theme for Unknown from 1 Final Mix) are two I was very sad that got left out.

i was honestly genuinely upset/surprised when i didnt see more from fragmentary passage. like wave of darkness 1 is amazing and i love it (i think of it as aqua’s battle theme sometimes) but how come we didnt get the world of darkness covers of some songs like enchanted dominion or secret whispers ?
Well, Scala Ad Caelum is another decision that I would have made, it is incredible that I have not remembered until now, but if I had to search inside my heart and be honest with myself, I would say that Oscuritá di Xehanort was one of the Soundtracks that I most expected inside from MoM and I saw that he couldn't make it. I don't have the game, just the demo so I don't know what the distribution is like, if for every 20 normal songs there is 1 of Boss Fight, so "personally" I would have no problem putting it as a normal song if that meant it was there, especially Considering that for the scene, in case it was a song for Final Boss it would be interesting to see 3 vs 3 instead of the other 3 vs 1. Besides, I have a special affection for that soundtrack especially because before hearing it I always told myself "Boss songs sound good on their own but if you combine them they might not be so pleasant" but Oscuritá di Xehanort arrives and closes my mouth (especially the Young Xehanort part). It would have been nice. Very good video

i would cancel the piano rearrangments and the disney sing-a-long songs gladly in excange of songs from the carribean (expecially the KH3 battle theme, so hype), the 100 acre woods and the anti-aqua boss theme... also some of the songs you mentioned here aren't bad choices either.

If I were to guess: the KH3 themes largely didn’t make it in because they didn’t want to animate the super HD worlds of KH3 in the old animation style (hence why the few we do have are all glide stages). That being said, it’s still baffling why they wouldn’t make more glide stages but that’s still my guess
Yeah that was my primary theory as well, either the work of animating the KH3 backgrounds, the KH3 enemies (since enemies only appear on the field stages) or both. We really get into the KH3 stuff in the big review video, but those were our thoughts exactly.
Id be perfectly happy with the same cutscenes playing over a second glide track for each world

I haven’t watched the vid yet, but my goodness I desperately wanted the KH3 compilation songs like Oscurita de Xehanort, and Hearts as One? Whatever the Roxas/Xion/Axel combo theme is. Also the Org 13 remixes were glorious and I needed more.

Good news is after about a year's worth of time, the Swing version of Dearly Beloved is coming to MoM, which while is a long time, at least its coming as a playable track
i really wish some of the fantasia songs were included, too (night on bald mountain and the symphony of sorcery songs), as well as the ray of hope remix of simple and clean and the field music of arendelle
There were 5 songs I really wanted, 4 from Birth by Sleep and 1 from DDD. In no particular order:
1 Unbreakable Chains - Ven's final boss theme. Yes, it's just a slower, longer, and slightly less sinister-sounding version of Enter the Darkness, but I wanted it, nevertheless. I love the slow build-up here more than Vanitas' psycho strings at the start of EtD.
2 Unforgettable - that song that plays when you fight that one big boss in Radiant Garden with the whole trio. The violin gives me goosebumps. The song is literally called Unforgettable, HOW TF DID THEY FORGET IT.
3 Hunter of the Dark - the song that plays when you fight that insane thing in the Dark World at the end of the secret episode. Why did they exclude this? It's just such a good track, hooks you instantly and never lets go. Song made me feel like I was literally Aqua, trapped in that horrible place and facing certain death.
4 Dark Impetus - This was the first song that came to mind when I heard about Melody of Memory. I wanted to get wrecked by a rhythm game as badly as I got wrecked by the Mysterious Figure. And there's no excuse for this one being missing, imo. Xemnas gets both Darkness of the Unknown as well as his theme from DDD. For Young Xehanort, we just get his DDD theme which - I mean, it's also a good song, but Dark Impetus is so INTENSE and HARDCORE. GODDAMMIT SQUENIX PLEASE GIVE US THIS SONG AS DLC.
5 The Dread of Night - aka "Are you what's trapping him in that nightmare? 'Cause if you are... I'm what nightmares fear!" aka the first boss in DDD that actually wrecked me and usually gives me at least one game over on subsequent playthroughs. Honestly, I would have rather had this over The Eye of Darkness, which is super underwhelming as a "final" boss theme imo.
Also, I agree with Forze del Male's exclusion as being very strange. It's such an iconic boss theme for the series imo. And I too am sad at KH3's treatment in this game. KH3 has my favorite soundtrack in the series, love that orchestral quality, the choir popping in to up the intensity... I was so pissed when I got to those worlds and saw they were all just dive tracks.
Thank you for mentioning Unbreakable Chains. That's one of my favorite final boss themes and I was so disappointed it was excluded.
One that's always bugged me is how we don't get the bugged version of Wonder Electron and No More Bugs. Would've been nice to hear those versions uncompressed.
And while I'm at it, we don't ever get a red version for the System Sector map either.
For me, I wanted No Heart's battle theme and Disappeared, so I guess the other Xemnas songs, but in terms of your list while Rock Titan and Kurt Zisa have Deep End and is one of the songs I wanted, Phantom does not have Deep End as the boss song.
Right next to my fair comment, TWEWY’s own Kingdom Mixes of Twister and Someday would match to Calling Kingdom Mix! Scala battle and field themes are deep as hell.
Love the vids I've been binge watching them. However, I was wondering what your favorite version of dearly beloved is because you mentioned wanting to play Mom's but I doubt that's your favorite version to listen to.
Personally I enjoy the one from kh1 simply because of the nostalgia it brings and also just how simple but powerful it feels.
I'll have you know that the gummi ship is actually my favorite part of KH3! It perfectly scratches my itch for exploration in a way that no other game ever has. I unironically want a game that's JUST KH3 gummi ship.

Forze dell' Oscurita or Forza Finale man. They were sorely missed. Would have been really cool from a gameplay standpoint having done the Ansem and Xemnas bosses to do a boss that combines the motifs from those tracks.
I was surprised more DDD boss music didn't make it. Ice Hot Lobster was wonderfully optimistic for a boss battle theme.
Ok so most of these can easily be explained. The game is running on already existing assets. That's why the mobile games don't exist in this game, they don't have KH1-2 engine renders of their towns.
The Pirates and Acre wood are not liscened to Disney exclusively, especially not the likeness of the pirates themselves. at the start of KH1-3 there's the copyright agreement terms before the menu, that includes products that they are purchasing Deep jungle, Acre wood, Pirates and even Nightmare before Christmas are on that list. Only one of those liscenses made it into the game.
I'm curious. Why is there a rights problem with Pirates of the Caribbean? Doesn't Disney already own that? I mean, it's based on a ride in their own theme park.
I always heard Cavern of Remembrance as the Mission Mode menu in 358/2, since it took so long to get 2FM in the US.
Also I do love KH2's Gummi ship portions. Not the best thing in the game for me, but I have powered the game up specifically for the Gummi ship.
I was REALLY looking forward to the Dark Aqua theme and/or the song that plays when you fight the Nort Court (sorry I don’t remember the titles). I was immensely disappointed when I got neither. But I agree, I do love the game regardless.
The latter is Oscurita di Xehanort (and/or Forza Finale), and I agree, I feel like it could have been an awesome inclusion. Game definitely feels unfinished, but is fun regardless.
My biggest disappointment in the track listing is the lack of "Master of Masters". Not only is that a sick-ass track that goes to some super weird, super cacophonous and free-jazzy places, but also...I mean, come on, its abbreviation is the same as this game's abbreviation.

@@RegularPat it's especially surprising to me, considering how much the game seemed to not only be a celebration of the series' music but also its characters, as well as essentially a bridge to the next phase of the franchise. This song as at least a stage you could synthesize (probably with Back Cover footage in the background) would be totally in line with that, especially considering how much the periphery stuff has been pushing MoM as the next big potentially antagonistic force.
