That was the most beautiful crane portion in this form I've ever seen. Everyone else I've seen do this form goes through the crane portion like, "Oh yeah, the name, here's some crane stuff" but Gordon took this whole thing so seriously.
Well what he did here was more performative. Which looked good, but wouldn't be done like that in a fight. Some like to be more artsy and others prefere a more grounded performance overall. In the endd everything else looked pretty much like he was in a movie fight of that time.
I loved watched Gordon Liu back in the day. I was also starting my Martial training in those days. Even though MMA has completely changed the Martial arts landscape, I still enjoy those classics Kung Fu. As someone who studied Hung Gar , I really enjoyed this clip.
Gardon liu. Is one of the greatest. Martial artist of all time. His kung fu is the best a shaolin monk in real life is why gardon liu is a bad ass in martial arts
Gordon Liu in the '80s and '90s was an absolute wonder to watch. If he were in ATLA, he would be considered one of the greatest Earthbenders of his time.
Now I wish they would've made a character in honor of him. Master Piandao was created in honor of Sifu Kisu, the main martial arts consultant for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
