    I wish I could listen to this exact vid but with the guitar isolated

      This is actually a compilation of my more extended videos per speaker. You can listen to the solo guitars, for example this is the Greenback th-cam.com/video/BDwCtD3tRkI/w-d-xo.html just browse my channel and you can find them for the other speakers too

    You’ll think I’m crazy but i loved the t-75, it has that old school thrash sound 🤘🏽

      You are spot on. I've compared plenty of speakers and it's still my favorite. It's one of the best speakers for stage use.
      However bedroom users tend not to like it. 😉

      Try the Eminance manowar. It’s a better (imo) version of the T75. Also my favorite speaker.

      mee too, but also the new neo v-type is similar a bit more modern.

      It IS the old school thrash sound. I love T75s and have never had a difficult time recording them as many tend to say. If you’re going at them with just an SM57, ok I can see why, but with a Ribbon or something less colored and more natural, low-endy, they’re fantastic. Funny thing is that T75s are a 40 year old speaker and STILL sound modern, it’s crazy

    Very nicely done! Interesting how similar the Neo Creamback and Lynchback sounds, and also Cream alnico.

    65 Creamback wins for me. Perfectly balanced with a non irritating mid spike. I’m usually not a big V30 lover but that gets second place here, sits very well and is surprisingly not harsh at all

    What surprised me is I thought the 1st speaker sounded the best. I'll listen to the whole thing a few more time but well done and thank you.

    I swear I like the VType the best. Oddly - it's the cheapest, too.

      You're not alone. The V30 and the Alnico Cream where my next choices.

      V-Type ftw my friend! :) Until now I was a V30 guy, but the V-Type is my new holy grail!^^ But I want to correct you in one aspect: the V-Type isn't the cheapest it's the most affordable of these speakers.^^ Affordable sounds better than cheap :D IMO

    V-Type
    Vintage 30 (Mesa)
    Alnico Cream
    The V Type has been very well represented on this particular channel for a whole bunch of videos now. Sounds great with both the Mesa and the EVH.

    Thanks, I love speaker videos!
    I listened to it with my eyes closed, deciding first how I liked the sound and why before checking which one was the actual speaker being played, and my ears didn't lie to me: the Greenback type won hands down, my preferred one to play for a reason.
    My favourite was the Creamback M, as I would have expected. G12T75 and Alnico Cream were the other two favourites. The A-Type added something really special (according to my taste) that none of the others did. And both V-Types were definitely there, too.
    I own all these speakers I mentioned except the Alnico Cream. I bought the Neo V-Type 2 months ago, right before I had to urgently move flats, and I couldn't try it yet myself. From the video I also have a Vintage 30, actually an Orange version made in England that sounds quite good (not my favourite speaker, though), but I don't know how it compares to other Vintage 30s.

    What's your favorite configuration ? Which one do you like to mix the most to cover more frequencies ? And where does the neo v type stands for you ?

    • @ThevonMusic
      @ThevonMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's so hard for me to pick a favourite, I love em for different reasons. The Creamback M-65 and Lynchback are definitely two of my favourites. The Cream (alnico) is definitely my favourite one for cleans/crunch. Neo V type? Well I think I prefer the Neo Creamback over that one, but that's just my opinion ofcourse. The Neo V is definitely good, but I don't like the treble too much, maybe a bit too bright.

  • @bladerunner12
    @bladerunner12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the smoothness the Alnico Cream gave to the sound. I know Smooth probably isn't what someone would want for this type of tone but it was at least interesting and different. The gift and curse of speakers like the V30 and the H30 is that they have a timbre we've all heard a million times before s they can be safe but boring

    • @ThevonMusic
      @ThevonMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Alnico Cream has probably the nicest smoothness I've come across. You can throw anything at it, from clean to high gain, sounds crisp but never annoying or harsh. The only downside is that Alnico's are more expensive.

    Trying to decide on V30/H75 or V30/M65 creambacks in Bogner Shiva 2x12 combo. Or stick with 2 x V30s. M65 in this clip doesnt sound like it would add much where as the H75 is more open with high end to add.

    • @ThevonMusic
      @ThevonMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      in a 2x12 I would definitely always use two different speakers. Maybe this helps: the H75 is more of a vintage kind of sound while the M65 is quite mid scooped, more focus on a great high gain sound. The M65 is slightly more my cup of tea but I think you can't go wrong with both of them. The fact you put two different speakers in one cab actually gives you the opportunity to record different speakers or a combination of both. By the way, why a V30? V30's are good but why not just a M65 + H75 combo? Keep in mind the chinese 'international' V30s, which I assume you might be talking about here are not as great sounding as some other V30s such as the ones in Mesa cabs. I also like to add that putting different speakers in one cab doesn't sound weird in the room. I actually have a 4x12 and used 4 different speakers in that cab and you would think it would sound weird but it was actually really good sounding.

    Don’t know if it’s just the distortion used but there’s a horrible boxy nasal quality in some of these clips. I wan I know metal should have a scooped mid sound, but that doesn’t have to mean “boxy” sound. I mean the copper back thing sounded awful to me.

    • @ThevonMusic
      @ThevonMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's how the speaker sounds. I don't like that one either.
