This song still plays in my head sometimes whenever a stressful situation comes up lol. I played the NES version of Tetris on emulators on my phone in 2013-14 so this is pretty nostalgic for me. Times really are going by so fast, can't imagine how the generations before me feel.
NES - Starts in D minor Changes to F major at 0:16 (relative major to D minor) Changes to C major at 0:22 Repeats at 0:35 Game Boy is one whole tone higher throughout (E minor to G major to D major) This was always my favorite, and I'm glad it was the only one that was in both versions.
It may just be the percussion on this but I've always imagined this would be great in an 8-bit western. Also for some reason I prefer this version over the GB one, it just feels more crisp and the D minor key seems to fit this piece better than E minor.
*1 year later* idk if you know but yeah, the NES & Gameboy both have a similar soundchip. NES: 2 Pulse Waves, 1 Triangle, 1 White Noise, 1 DPCM. GB: 2 Pulse Waves, 1 Wave Table, 1 White Noise. Both pretty much have the same Pulse Waves & you can make a Triangle Wave in the Wave Table. making it sounding extremely identical to the NES. though the Noise Channel has a bit more range on GB imo.
I think it literally just goes by Type 2/Type B. While most Tetris themes _are_ based on real songs, this one was an original created for it. Not sure why...

In the case you want to know the difference of the NES version and the GameBoy one.
NES - F Major key
GAMEBOY - G Major key
Actually no.
NES - D Minor
GB - E Minor
Oh, thanks. I'm new in this music stuff.
@@avepolimata782 To be fair, it does go to those keys, the relative major keys, at 0:22

This was the jam for me whenever I played Tetris. It had that feel like I needed to hurry up during gameplay
Man I have had this some in my head for over 3 days.

The irony, of course, is that this is a remix of a Traditional RUSSIAN Folksong.
You're not alone. I prefer this mix too
@@grantnesselroad7569 "Did I fire five shots, or did I fire six. Y'all better hope ya guess right, or else it's do svidanya, pardner."
Sounds an awful lot like a Russian ballet song. Either way, the Tetris songs are nostalgia to my 47 year old self.
Ik music 1 is dance of the sugar plum fairy at 1.25x speed, is this another existing piece of music?
I think this is an original.
The only theme that's perfect for a battle.
Not really a fan of the NES version of the game, but when I play it, this is my favorite track.
OMFGWTF IT'S THE SAME ONE ON THE GAMEBOY VERSION

Yeah, but the Game Boy version of this track was in a different key. The same with the Super NES version too.
thats a real banger right there! ;)
BOOM TETRIS FOR JOSEPH
Currently making spicy egg ramen. 🤔🌶️🥚🍜 MAYBE considering on gaming later. 🤔😁👍🏻🎮 I'm trying to mix and separate My noods to the speed of the music. 🤔🤣
When this music got faster and faster back then, I was really scared of the music as a child. It was too scary for me hahahah
It is mean!
This is the only music that's keeps my eyes focused on the screen

Comrads
Lowkey this sounds like a song from Contra.
No, Contra isnt russian.
What is this song in actuality?
I know that every Tetris song is based on a real song. But what is the original name for this song?
I think it literally just goes by Type 2/Type B. While most Tetris themes _are_ based on real songs, this one was an original created for it.

I know it's not. It's based on some symphony that I randomly found on youtube. Unfortunately, I did not manage to keep a record of what it was.
I believe this one is based on a Russian folk song, something along the lines of "kalinka"
its similar, but definitely not Kalinka. Yes I'm replying to a 7 month old reply to a year old comment.
@@keysontrains538 I'm just here to see if someone will reply in a few months to me
believe it or not this theme is the OG theme and is literally called “Tetris”

nothing will ever EVER top Tetris theme B! Aside from, obviously, theme A from the game boy!
This was better on the gameboy to me.
It looks similar to the gameboy music type b
