I'm 42 and that's relatable AF man. 1989 was a solid year...my pop was left handed and I remember trying to teach him how to play and he's always say they need to make a left handed controller lol. He just wasn't very good. Been gone 13 years now but you just sparked a nice memory...hang in there man.
Sorry for you loss. My dad bought us an NES and tetris in 1989. He passed away in January 21' and searched for this video just to go back to that time.
I'm 42 born in the 1980, and my mom and I played this game years ago when I was a teen. Man, that was the best times I've spent playing this game! So many memories!
I was never super into Tetris, as it was more of my sister's game, but I'd sit at my NES as a kid and listen to this song play over and over. It still has the same effect on me now at 39 as it did then.
This is probably one of the best compositions of this century. Who can take two chords and develop a motif that nobody gets tired of hearing? simply wonderful
my mom used to have an old CRT laying around, though i was born later than 1980 i would play tetris on its as well as some other games i couldn't remember
I think this is the most calming music in whole video game industry. I'm hearing like this music says that just take your own time, no reason for any rush.
I found myself using this song more than the others when playing this game. It made me feel composed while going for the high score. Also, this version is much more satisfying than other ports of tetris when it comes to scoring a tetris (breaking 4 lines at once).
Memories of life are invariably distilled to moments. One of my favorite was playing this wonderful game, often just to hear this music. It made the world alright for a while.
I was always a Type B / Music 2 guy until very recently. For some reason Music 3 evokes so much more nostalgia now even though I didn't select it much back in the day.
I commute home listening to this once and awhile,or driving in a blizzard, or messing with a car full of friends sleeping driving gradually turning up the volume to deafening levels😅
I played Tetris all the time up through my twenties. I even had a Gameboy micro under my adjacent pillow, and after sex, I would play it, lol... usually maxed out points... code for leaving any engagement early with girl was, "want to play Tetris?" I just wish the GB Tetris had this music 😫 As much as I love Zelda, Metroid, etc., Tetris is the only game I can consider perfect.
I love how the NES version of this game is laced with Soviet propaganda. Alexy Pajitnov had to get authorization from the Soviet government to release this game in other countries, and I imagine this being one of their requirements.
Dude nintnedo 8-bit tetris theme #3 is my jam. it'll be like 30-40 years before the copy right fades so this is totally useless for you outro search. it's just for if you wanna bounce the vibe between your ear holes a while th-cam.com/video/APkKjoQVNbk/w-d-xo.html edit: uhm... haha!
I’m currently 44… this takes me back to 12 year old me… simpler times, better times. A time when I still had a dad.

My DAD an I use to battle late nights playing "cards" an TETRIS!!! He passed recently in July!!! R.I.P POPS!!!
r.i.p

Always, ALWAYS, picked music-3 😎
This is the best NES score ever
I agree
I agree
No disrespect to "Korobieniki", but whenever I see Tetris, _this_ is the tune that pops into my head.
This game makes me want to be a kid in the 80s and 90s I love the old games and crts and such, my favorite nes game by far
I remember almost being put in a trance with this song as a kid and teenager. This is still one of the all-time greatest video game tracks.
I was never super into Tetris, as it was more of my sister's game, but I'd sit at my NES as a kid and listen to this song play over and over. It still has the same effect on me now at 39 as it did then.
Congrats on reaching this rest point. Take a break, you deserve it.

Reminds me of laying in the floor playing NES on that same small Magnavox tv everyone had in the late 80s.
This dude gets it.
You had to because the cord from the controller to the console couldn’t have been more than 3 feet long.
Try me in the early to mid 2000s in front of my grandparents' old Zenith cabinet TV with the NES on the base of the fireplace right next to it.
Reminds me of playing the NES on a 1980s Pioneer projection TV.
my mom used to have an old CRT laying around, though i was born later than 1980 i would play tetris on its as well as some other games i couldn't remember
I think this is the most calming music in whole video game industry. I'm hearing like this music says that just take your own time, no reason for any rush.
But at the same time allows you to keep a fast pace
I always thought it was very relaxing too.
Take your time...until you get about 70+ lines.
Hasn't heard the water world map music clearly
@@heraldsWater world map at smb3 I assume?

Such a satisfying sound to go with it to
“Bloo kleee kleee KLAH!”
This was the only music I used. It’s way more chill. I honestly don’t like any other version of Tetris other than NES & GB.
Type C is underrated yet amazing. Both GB and NES versions.
This tune has always been overlooked in the Tetris community
That's because it's not as good as Bach's Suite 3 Minuet version.
Music 3 is weak
aScoutGames' remix of this theme is good
YES!
I like this track it has an almost oceanic vibe to it
It makes me think of being in a large library that is inside a medieval castle.
Suddenly I have no problems like I do now. I’m 10 years old and playing or watching tetris with my brother and sister.
I fell asleep to a tetris video and heard this in my dream
Type C music is the best, I love it.
Memories of life are invariably distilled to moments. One of my favorite was playing this wonderful game, often just to hear this music. It made the world alright for a while.
I love this song just listening and take a moment of relax.
This is my ringtone. I'm dedicated....😂
I could listen to this for hours...
FINALLY SONE ONE POSTED IT!!!!!!
@Soviet Russia 2.0 ah yes my bad spelling
This song for Tetris back in the day... put me in a mental zone to score high!
This was always my go to song for Tetris on the NES, the theme on the Game Boy is a close 2nd.
Music 3 was best one I've chosen ever when I used to play this game since my childhood.
This is always my go to song choice. Still have tetris in the NES always ready to play.
The good ol days, great music, be blessed, saved in Jesus shalom
This was always my favorite Tetris jam.
This screams the 80’s. ❤️
by far the best of all 3! take me back to the past! a very good past when all my problems was playing tetris with friends!!!
I was always a Type B / Music 2 guy until very recently. For some reason Music 3 evokes so much more nostalgia now even though I didn't select it much back in the day.
I always play this in the B-Type because it's more relaxing.
Flashbacks of Hypno K.K. playing in my head during this
I love this song
Relaxing 8-bit music! Even Columns on SEGA consoles had relaxing tunes.
The tune would feel at home in a Metroid game while Samus explores and strange but not particularly dangerous area of an alien planet.
Love this music
Am I the only one who grabs a drink and vibes to this track?
😂 I do too 🔥🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥
I commute home listening to this once and awhile,or driving in a blizzard, or messing with a car full of friends sleeping driving gradually turning up the volume to deafening levels😅
I wonder why its a meme that no one ever uses the 3 or C theme (the latter on GameBoy)
I like that old school arcade tetris 1985 and nes game tetris 1985 and nes game tetris 1987 games
My BGM of choice, everyone else likes Music II.
I played Tetris all the time up through my twenties. I even had a Gameboy micro under my adjacent pillow, and after sex, I would play it, lol... usually maxed out points... code for leaving any engagement early with girl was, "want to play Tetris?" I just wish the GB Tetris had this music 😫

I love this!
I am sure, there is a Metroid (NES) secret level, very well hidden, that uses this music... ;)
Interesting you say that! I think there was
Does this song have an actual name? I know the first song does.

I love how the NES version of this game is laced with Soviet propaganda. Alexy Pajitnov had to get authorization from the Soviet government to release this game in other countries, and I imagine this being one of their requirements.
It might've been more of a marketing push by the publisher. Alexy Pajitnov didn't have control over his game because of ELORG at this time.
Listening to this now, it's weird how it sounds uncannily similar to the start of the song "Who am I" by Petula Clark...
The sound you hear in Mario Crossover 3 if you play Tetrimino
I've always loved playing c n just zoning tf out. I swear the cartridges bent each other's pins just to get...ya know🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If the triangle channel were another square channel, then this would have sounded like something off the Master System
1.5x / 150% Speed is the Danger Version. saw the same Comment at Type 2.
Music 3 was always the best one. Too bad the Gameboy version didn't have this.
Sounds almost like Columns
💃🕺💃🕺
Anyone thought are we there yet or how much longer looking at the image? Fucking shit man.... Where's
the height and speed options ?! Sad...
Right...
what's the name of this song?
As a kid,I thought it this was a Native American flute
😌❤
I was the only one of my sisters who likes this theme and was made fun of lol
Well...you get it.
It was ether 1 or 3
I'd totally want to get high to this track.
Why not? I totally drink to it!
this sounds good in a seizure video
WE MAKIN IT OUTTA RUSSIA WITH THIS ONE!!! 🔥🔥🔥💀🔥
HARRY HONG BE GETTING FINNA MAXOUT WITH DIS 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
To bad it's only 24 seconds.
