    I think this is the quietest, most subdued performance of Siegfried's death I've ever heard. Interesting take.

    Technically impressive but a bit over the top in my taste.
    Too much "Spartacus" if you will.
    I prefer Klaus Tennstedt's version despite its recording flaws.
    It displays a more human and intimate celebration.
    Search for "Siegfried's Death and Funeral March Tennstedt" (Wolf Braun).

      If it's Karajan at the Berlin Philharmonic then it's probably Helge Brilioth

    Not my cup of tea. It is far too slow! That's btw a huge problem of many Wagner performances in the last few decades. Wagner himself would probably not like it. He told his conductors constantly to make it faster because otherwise the audience would fall asleep 😊
