Many people forget about the set trigger on the t3x’s. When on fire, push the rear of the trigger to the set position, advances the trigger in the guard and lowers the pressure, makes for a much more crisp/sensitive trigger. To de-activate simply return the rifle to safety mode and the trigger will regain its traditional position.
@ there’s only a discrete and very vague mention of it on the website and in the manual. Discovered it whilst playing around with my rifle, came to find out that all t3x’s have one. just apply pressure whilst on fire to the back of the trigger, you’ll feel it click into the set position, and then it basically becomes a hair trigger. Obviously try it out without a round chambered first ;)
I have the same gun chambered in 308 and took my first buck this year and absolutely love this rifle. It is light for walking to my stand and it is accurate.
I have the Tikka T3 stainless in 308 win I love it. I just wish it came threaded. Yes it has some recoil so I put a limb saver recoil pad and that was the fix
T3x Lite 6.5CM stainless. Incredible. Sub MOA to 600 yds. with many factory loads. My deer/pronghorn gun. No issues. Get the vertical grip, change the bottom metal. 143 ELDX and Barnes 130 TSX. Use the 140 ELDM too.
Bought a T3x in .308 a few months ago. Shoots as well as my previous one I had in Europe before moving to the USA 7 years ago. My previous one had a Stalon suppressor and adjustable stock. Shoots well with most ammo brands though I prefer Norma and Sako.
I got the Superlite Stainless Steel in 7mm-08 over 2 years ago. The rifle is light and blalance. I used Barnes 120 grain copper bullet (CA law), and accuracy is great. I'll be my go to rifle as I age.
Tikka t3x lite roughtech 300 win mag left handed. Smoothest action out of all the guns I own hands down. The trigger is smooth, and light. The muzzle break is excellent, still has a bit of recoil but I can shoot an entire box of shells in one sitting pretty easily. The recoil pad I was pleased with after shooting, initially i was concerned. Factory Norma whitetail 150 grain ammo and winchester super x 150 grain ammo both shoot between half an inch and three quarters of an inch at 100 yards. Was worth every penny
YAY!!! You finally get a Tikka to shoot. Well you asked for it so here's my list which includes mine and my wife and sons: T3x Roughtech/Tan - two in 6.5 PRC. Since you're so passionate about Tikkas, may I ask your opinion (likes and dislikes) about your 308 in Roughtech ember VS 308 superlite? I'm strongly considering one of the two! This would be a white tail deer hunting rifle for me. Thanks!
I have a T3 lite stainless in 300wsm A 30.06 in t3 lite and a 270 in the hunter stainless. They all shoot very accurate. The 300wsm has alot of recoil but with a limbsaver recoil pad it's manageable especially for a hunting rifle.
I have 4, 308 and 223 in the small stocked compact versions, and 30-06 and 270wsm. Had the 270wsm since 2012. I’ve tried several other brands of rifle and rarely keep them. The limbsaver recoil pad is mandatory, as is a cheek riser, and I stuck the vertical grip on one and find it’s a nice improvement. I like the Tikka specific warne vertical split rings, as no bases are required. Thankfully they are starting to thread barrels but it’ll probably be a while before they trickle down to the lower end models.
I’ve had a Tikka T3X for 4 or 5 years now. I was a little disappointed with the accuracy of this 308 until one day I decided to get aggressive with the barrel cleaning process. Turns out that all it needed. Basic hunting ammo comes in around.75” and Gold Medal Match yielded .5” groups. That’s really nice for such a lightweight rifle.
Tikkas are great rifles my favorite on the market by far. I’ve built a full out custom rifle and I’m back to a tikka roughtech with a suppressor on it. Out of the box it grouped under 1/2MOA at 100yds.
I have a Tikke in 22-250 it is a tack driver shoots all the ammo I have tried really well. It came with a muzzle brake and a thread protector. Don’t need a muzzle brake on a 22-250 lol. Mine has a camo stock and FDE barrel and action
I have a Tikka T3x in 7x64 Brennike, with factory S&B ammo it shoots much better than I’m capable, but I do shoot it 1moa with that ammo, hopefully my hand loads will be as good or better with Barnes or Accubonds. Looking forward to see your range testing.
I have 2. One in 30-06 and one that was a 7mm-08 but had Douglas rebarrell to .358 Win. Not that I didn't or don't like the 7/08, I just wanted a more dedicated woods gun. Love Tikka's. And I have Model 70's, Remington 700's now and a whole host of others I've have throughout the years. If I had to grab just one to hunt with and couldn't get another it would be a Tikka.
I have 3 Tikka T3x, all in stainless steel. I replaced the plastic bottom area with metal. All of the rifles shoot moa or better. The Tikka chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum I replace the recoil pad. I have a wood stock Tikka in 6.5 x 55 Swede. The other Tikka was chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum but I wanted it in 7mm PRC and I took the barrel off and replaced the barrel. I put this one in a Woox chassis. The only thing I do not like is the way the recoil lug is in the stock. I would like it attached to the receiver.
I have the T3X Stainless in 6.5 CM. I added a few goodies to it, aftermarket bolt handle, Caldwell carbon bipod topped with a Vortex 4x16 Diamondback Tactical. I want to get me the soft pistol grip yet. It's a great rifle, I shoot the Federal Fusion 140 gr and have taken both an Elk and Pronghorn in WY and several whitetail here in WI. It shoots just about all factory ammo well. Looking forward to what you think of it 😊
I have the original t3 lite in 7mm08. That gun has taken so many deer in pa, couple black bears, and some other things. I had the gun for over 17 years now and no complaints. Just replace the recoil pad. I’m debating cutting it down to 18” to make a nice suppressed package.
The Finnish know how to make a rifle,I currently have four tikkas and have scoped and sighted in several others,i have never came across one that wasn’t a shooter, just stellar accuracy with minimal fuss using basic factory ammo,i like the various scope mounting options possible for these rifles from the Warne split vertical rings with recoil pin that attach directly to the groove on the receiver,Talley lightweight aluminums,or picatinny rails with or without recoil pin and ring set up.Also no need for a trigger replacement on these rifles to get a crisp clean 2-4lb trigger pull.Tolerances are so tight on these guns you can order prefit barrels if you ever shoot one out.
The Tikka T3 hit the American market in 2003 (body & soul ads), & it has been my primary deer rifle for the past 19-20 years. The T3X had some updates done, but most things like the clips & scope mounts are the same. I actually bought a .308 Win T3 Hunter (wood stock/blued barrel) for a relative first. I was so impressed by the accuracy of that gun that I bought a .308 Win (synthetic stock/stainless steel barrel) for myself a year or two later. My main Tikka criticism - all calibers are long action. A short action rifle doesn't exist. If you shoot a .308, .243, or other short action caliber, you are working the same long action of a .30-06, .270, or other long action Tikka T3 or T3X rifle. They glue a spacer in the shorter caliber magazine clips. A long action round would have that spacer removed from the clip. The clips are functional, but they are not impressive in my mind. Simplicity makes the gun more affordable than a Sako, & I am OK with that. I like the fit & feel of my T3. The trigger has always impressed me. The T3 was quite affordable when it first came to the States. I ordered the first one through Walmart 20 years ago. I'm not certain it's the best rifle value today, but I have no plans to use anything else. A good friend now owns the first Tikka T3 Hunter I bought 20 years ago. HIs wife, his son, and he each harvested a bull elk with that same rifle the past 3 seasons. He shot his bull at 357 yards, but the other two bulls were closer. That gun is why I own mine. It just really impressed me at that time.
@@ReviewThisThing 3 years, it was a new in box leftover gun at a small gunstore. Got a good price on it. Only had around 300 rounds trou it now. 100grs Hornady Interlock with 42 grs of Reloader 19 behind it. Sub MOA all day 😍
T3x 6.5 Swede (far more versatile then CM). Traditional wood has a relatively flat fore-end. Warne rings (with a recoil pin) fit lower and look cleaner.
Just bought a T3x Light Stainless in 308. Put Mountain Tactical bottom metal on it, Limbsaver pad, and vertical pistol grip. First group with handloads - .372! Why does this not surprise me? Because I own a 223, a 243, a 6.5 Creed, a 708 and a 25-06. Every one of them is a sub moa gun - consistently. At 74 and having shot nearly every brand out there - I will now buy NOTHING but Tikka. By far the best bang for the buck.
Heard nothing but good things about the Tikka. Handled one at a sporting goods store the other day. Really didn't like it at all, felt weird. Not exactly sure what is was I didn't like, just the overall feel I guess, cheap plastic stock?? Conversely my kimber mountain accent feels so perfect when I shoulder it.
It’s the only thing I hunt with of the hundreds of guns collected over 60+ years of hunting even my custom builds🙌 Tikka or Sako just make premium guns for the price!
the tikka t3x light has a 16mm barrel. the super lite has a 16mm barrel fluted. the ember has a 18mm barrel and the veil has a 18mm barrel and you can get them both in fluted with threaded. then the ctr and upr tikka t3x have 20mm barrels on them non fluted. then the varmit and super varmit have a 22mm barrel on them non fluted.
I have three Tikka T3X rifles 1 and 300 win mag that I gave to my daughter because she loves it and killed her first book I have a 6.5 creedmoor Tikka now I have a Tikka T3X 270

Have it threaded. I installed Limbsaver butt pads on my T3x's in 308 and 6.5 CM but left the 223 with the stock pad. All 3 shoot very well and are a joy to carry being as light as they are.
What's not to like about the Tikka T3x LITE? MY preference is for the stainless lite. If you got one with a 12 3/4 LOP, you got the youth version. The standard T3x Lite LOP is about 13 13/4" for adults. You didn't even shoot the rifle, that's what it's all about. That's why we tell you, "you should shoot a Tikka".. What kind of review is this?????
Have a tikia t3x lite, a lot to like a lot to not like. Single stack mag. Plastic recoil pad. U can't adjust l o p cut stock down u have to invent a way to reconect it

Tikka t3x lite stainless 30-06. Great accuracy and very smooth action! Love it!

What’s your favorite?
the tikka t3x light has a 16mm barrel. the super lite has a 16mm barrel fluted. the ember has a 18mm barrel and the veil has a 18mm barrel and you can get them both in fluted with threaded. then the ctr and upr tikka t3x have 20mm barrels on them non fluted. then the varmit and super varmit have a 22mm barrel on them non fluted.
Thank you!
I have heard nothing but good things about this gun. Smoothest action made is what I hear and very accurate.
I can’t wait to see!

What’s better tikka or Cva cascade
Great question. I haven’t shot the Tikka yet
@ ohh do you still like the cascade ?
@@landon0832 You have opened quite the flood of info 😁 Check out this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL7i9VxciB5pMNMESaXJNb9oHoFUo4lY2o.html&si=KvtTK32SHppRg746
@@landon0832 If you don't want to watch all of that, the short answer is yes. It's still a fantastic shooting gun. I planned for it to be my only hunting rifle, but then we started testing so many others that it got pushed back. But it's still a great gun!
350 Legend 2 touching on .75" C to C in three shot group. everytime
Heck yeah!
Have it threaded. I installed Limbsaver butt pads on my T3x's in 308 and 6.5 CM but left the 223 with the stock pad. All 3 shoot very well and are a joy to carry being as light as they are.
That’s a great idea!
T3x Roughtech Ember 6.5 creedmoor
Very nice!
1:30 Looks like you're measuring from the Front of the trigger guard.
Shirley, you jest . . . ☆
Nope. Trigger.
T3x Lite 7mm-08
Love it?
@@ReviewThisThing Yes, amazing little rifle
TIKKA.....You GET what you pay for.
Love it
Tally rings don't need a rail.
Ahhhh.
It’s not a “review.” It’s just a Quick Look - that’s why I said “preview.” Review to come!
Have a tikia t3x lite, a lot to like a lot to not like. Single stack mag. Plastic recoil pad. U can't adjust l o p cut stock down u have to invent a way to reconect it
I had some of those same thoughts.
Best hypo I own .270 short mag
Ooooooh. Sweet.
