    Thank you. You might want to check on that Forrester reference. I remember reading about it back in like 2008. So the % you are presenting surely have changed.

    Hi Ken, stumbled on this video, thanks for your take on the UX industry! For anyone who is looking to do a bootcamp right now.. As a bootcamp graduate, I would strongly advise against bootcamps right now. Even after completing the certification, working days and nights, it seems the entry level right now is extremely competitive. Just doing a bootcamp won't make you an attractive candidate. You still need to do your own homework and make yourself stand out from thousands of other bootcamp graduates. If I can do it over again, I would find volunteer work with a real client, and build my case study like that.

    what AI does well, is produce an average from a dataset, that is largely the opposite of good UX Design. Rather than the logic “this is what usually works in this context”, a good UX Designer considers what is unique about the context? what extra affordances should be made to better serve the users of this system?
    AI is tools which can help shortcut some processes, but usually a skilled person is required to use them effectively.

    So I did a UX design remote job search for entry level and came up with 4 job openings especially when narrowing it down to jobs posted in the past month or week. Yes if you just put UX design jobs posted ever with no parameters you probably will get 14k openings. But if you are new it doesn't help a job posted 8 months ago or a experienced designer job. So it might be good possibly if you are experienced not sure if it is any good at this time to just get involved into UI UX design especially going into 2024.

      Sorry it got narrowed down like that. My main point was "dead" was a bit extreme to say. Honestly, the market is more saturated for Juniors. And the market will always change and future for EVERYTHING is never certain. I still believe we are in an experience-based economy and designers have value that's needed.

    Hi Ken! Im a career changer looking into UX Design, and I've been hearing and reading about layoffs and how it's terrible for people brand new to the field, but I only hear about Tech. No one talks about all the other industries. For example, im leaning towards maybe UX in the healthcare industry. Great video

    Hi Ken! Your video has helped with some of my worries as I move toward my UX/UI career, and now that I feel more comfortable with UX demand, I'd like to ask a question or two. I plan on getting a Graduate Degree in UX, but a lot of people have gone with bootcamps with great success - is it worth it, in your opinion, to splurge on the Graduate Degree and will I stand out because it's not a bootcamp? Or do you think bootcamps are more than sufficient to get into the field successfully?

    • @masteringux
      @masteringux  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great to hear! As far as bootcamps I created a video that give you my take: th-cam.com/video/wNBGpKwaCUw/w-d-xo.html
      It's a very personal decision. In short I think you shouldn't do a bootcamp for the value on your resume but if you realize the cost and risk and still feel it matches your goals and learning style.

    Most of those job postings are not real. I've seen a lot of hiring managers on social media saying the company's strategy is to post (and post multiple times) fake jobs to give the appearance of a healthy company.

    • @FastlaneProductions1
      @FastlaneProductions1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      so they will repost 1 job for every major city. So one potentially fake job will have 100 fake postings. So the actual job count may be closer to 150

    Hello Ken, it's a great video. I'm still in the Google UX specialization, and I needed that kind of motivation. What do you think about combining UX/UI with website creation with Wordpress with DIVI?

    • @masteringux
      @masteringux  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used Wordpress and Divi: usinsuranceaudit.com
      I PERSONALLY found it harder to find Wordpress freelance work in the past 3 years, probably because of SquareSpace and more emphasis on social media. Hope that helps

    I would really like to know what UI/UX job has literally been taken by AI? I have not seen this. I'm wondering if these people fearing there jobs are just blaming AI or are there more studies showing that AI is actually taking jobs. What AI is doing this? Would like see the follow up on this video as studies progress.

    • @masteringux
      @masteringux  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have not heard of one @kdog24life! That being said I feel the potential for AI to create massive efficiencies is for sure, but maybe we will raise the standard of UX love in all organizations... hard to know where we end up.
