I could totally see Bowser being immune to being pogo'd if this were a real fight like how he can't be jumped on in the games, forcing Shovel Knight to only use forward facing attacks or relics.
While exploring the hall of champions , shovel knight finds a strange message in a hidden chamber, it was rather crude and the hastily written but the message was clear, " dear shovel dweeb, I the great king of awesomeness, challenge you if you ever wish to see your beloved again , you better show up, buahahahahah" the stamp of the beast who sent this gave shovel knight a dread of who this could be...but if he had shield knight he'd put them in there place and rescue her for shovelery , after a short treck shovel knight runs into a tower he hadn't seem before once he enters , he arrived at a bridge where the beast was already fired up and ready for battle , not a word was exchanged as shovel knight quickly got the upper hand and sent the axe next to the bridge crashing into the rope , the moster soon fell to its demise, shovel knight was victorious and he held his shovel high , he went to the next room to save his beloved....but when he got close to her he saw....a dummy?! ,"what is this trickery?! , show yourself you villain " and the villain complied " buahahahaha , man you fell for the oldest trick in the book , fake me over a pit of lava? Oh never get old" shovel knight couldn't believe this beast was being so boastful " where is shield knight you horrible beast? You said you had her," the beast laughed" sorry to tell you this but your shield knight is in another castle , buahahaha wait no i don't, but don't worry you've got a great consolation prize, being stomped by the one the only, king of awesomeness and the Koopa, Bowser!" Bowser reveals himself fully and the battle begins
The use of leitmotifs is so fun! Seeing stage themes like Bowser's Road incorporated into it so well is a real treat. The instrumentation too, very close to the style of the game! Wonderful job.
Meanwhile in the timeline where the Nintendo ports had their own secret boss: (Fr though this is really good, can't help but imagine a theoretical fight in my noggin while listening)
If they did do it they probably wouldn't have put someone really iconic like Mario. They might have put one of the Belmonts because God Forbid someone like Mario or Link are made to lose anything official

The coolest thing about this theme imo is that it does the same thing the boss themes of Shovel Knight does, where it includes motifs from the stage’s theme. This implies that if Bowser had a boss fight in Shovel Knight, a 16-bit version of “Koopa’s Road” would’ve been playing as the stage theme leading to Bowser.

Some of it was a little original, but the majority of it is a mashup of bowser themes, like Bowser's Road and his boss fight in sm64. Much love!
