Kenny was a monster talent. I was fortunate enough to write about him and help spread the word of his brilliance to other guitarists via a few major guitar rags. Anyone who doesn't appreciate his talent shouldn't be on this page. They should take a hike.
Great playing by one of the best. I met Kenny at one of the Long Island guitar shows at Five Towns College. Really nice guy. Here, he's playing a Hofner "New President" model guitar.
Kenny was very ill with cancer when he did this. ..(not napping, you are kidding, right?) He was a beautiful cat and no one played like he did. We loved him.
I came across Kenny playing in a club in Cincci years ago playing a "No Name " guitar which sounded great. Turns out he found old Harmony guitars , in pieces, and have them put together. he said that they sounded better than what was available because the wood had time to age. I can't blame him for switching to a Hofner but I always liked his sound. Terrific player.
@Benj888 His protégé's Andy Brown/stringdamper, outta Chicago(Hi Andy), Gawd.....to think Kenny was actually taking a nap when he played this, then everybody woke him up with the clapping, way to go people. Unworldly genius.
Ya mean like, Ole Kenny was Playin' Picasso Possum? Except it was like a Near the End, Too_Real_Blue Guitarist. i.pinimg.com/originals/db/2e/24/db2e243095009eada458c52e409992fc.jpg
Are his chords awesome or what? And I like his composure. I am not a fan of the body moves and facial contortions that many performers show. People told me I appeared to be in a trance when I played. I was just listening to and enjoying the music.

Astounding!
I used to work at Mullane's in Cinci so long ago and he would play there once a week, what a treat!

Amazing!!!
Il Segovia della chitarra jazz . Immenso !
Anyone looking for CDs of Kenny contact J-Curve Label in Cincinnati.
can anyone help me find a CD of Kenny's? thanks.
I'm just guessing that they probably knew each other through Clyde Edwards in Cinci that worked for Baldwin/Gretsch and designed their SuperChet.
I think Kenny might be playing a guitar made by the late Rod Guenther of Cincinnati, also a great modest guy and musician
The guitar is a Hofner "New President" model.
