I just got my PIXII+ last week and I am really enjoying it. I used it with a Voigtlander 35mm, TTArtisan 21mm and have a Laowa 15mm on order. My main M Mount is the Leica M10-R. So far, so good. Definitely need to get used to this camera but the viewfinder is excellent, easy to focus. Have had some strange exposures and I’m not totally comfortable with the button positions, but I will get used to that with time. Since I also own some Fuji and Sony APS-C cameras, this does not matter too much for me. I was deciding on this versus a used M-P 240 and glad I went this route.
I loved the camera, and the concept that it will never be obsolete. The most intriguing part - to me - was the native monochrome feature, but also the camera body gives tactile satisfaction; easy and lightweight, and it doesn't need to be over taken care of like Leicas :) Enjoy it!
Thank you for the review. A Fujifilm X-Pro 3 with Leica M mount adapter would be interesting comparison as they share a lot of hardware specs, form factor, intended use (I guess).
I’m curious as to how good the black and white revolving power is of that sensor… I know they “reverse compute” light loss from the Bayer CFA on the sensor, and in theory that should do just fine… can it actually compare to a black and white sensor? I guess one of the only ones from factory to compare to right now, would be the Pentax Kiii monochrome for an even-handed test… in any case, the reverse-calculation method is so blatantly obvious, that if it is as good as without the cfa, then more manufacturers could add this in firmware… are you listening, Fuji… X100 Kaizen firmware update opportunity???
That's a brilliant solution, you will find many other videos on my channel dedicated to B/W Pixii shots. I honestly used it as a monochrome most of the times :) it was not easy to develop the algorithm so I guess the guys at Pixii patented it, too
I admit to bias on the Pixii, I like mine a lot. The sensor is excellent and Barth and his team have tuned it and the color engine very well. That aside, you review is another good one and I am looking forward to your mono/Bayer test. Cheers
Thank you so much! I am going to start bringing a journal with me!!! :-)
This is the way :)
@@OneLensOnly is it possible to use flash with this camera?
You can mount something like the Ulanzi VL 49
@@OneLensOnly Thank you for the tip. Much appreciated!

Great suggestion! If the x-pro4 gets a BSI sensor I'll make that face to face comparison :) thanks

Thank you, sir
What camera strap is that ?
It's the leather strap from my Q2 (which I use with a textile one instead)
It's too bad that such an expensive camera has only an APS-C size sensor. That alone stops me from buying one.
im not too bothered about sensor size until i realise that i have no options for 28mm equivalent and most wide angles will block the rangefinder
Hell, I was thinking it's too bad it's not a m4/3 sensor
LOL
