Hello Mark, thank you for sharing the beautiful and wonderful country called South Korea. I spent a year over there in 1985-86 patrolling the DMZ with the US Army as a Combat Engineer. Boy have things changed since then. When I was there, you would have been shot down, doing what you were doing, by “both” sides. Enjoy this wonderful and historical country.
Using that grass circle as an LZ was awesome! I hope you don't have any hassles with Greggio's! I'm loving your South Korea vids! Hope you get to see Alayna soon!
Nice post, Mark! Would have been hilarious while on descent if you called that restaurant manager and told him to look out his window cuzz you're flying in to see him.
Hi Hi.... Thanks for your visiting South Korea. And I hope you had a good flight. That is one of the very good take off places in South Korea. There are much turbulence in the middle of city. So I think your landing place is not safe. But you were safe landing. Very gooooood... I live in South Korea(Daegu City). I am paraglider. And if you have a time, Pls visit in my City(Daegu City). Have a nice trip and enjoying glider....................
Nice video Mark. I was stationed there between 86-88 in Uijeongbu just north of Seoul. My how things have really changed in the landscape. Enjoy the time. When you gonna be back near the Asheville N.C. area. Would like to meet. My mom mom lives out in Cashiers N.C. just around an hour from there.
That was an exciting flight, when you were over those trees I was thinking how could you get to anyone amongst that foliage ? landing area would be great for flying radio controlled aeroplanes.
Cool video. Just curious, where was the launch site? Looks like where I did my first tandem flight in Yongin. No? It was great not only seeing the cool flying but the sites from Korea as well. I lived there for 8 years and loved it greatly.
I guess that it's probably pretty dang smooth down at a lower elevation with lots of humidity, but holy heck it's a terrible habit to keep taking your hands off your brakes when you're low to the ground. That would be borderline suicidal if flying XC in the high desert of the US.
I am a paraglider too. That is Boryeong-si, South Korea. You have violated 3 things. Climbing using forbidden hiking trails, cooking in places where fire could not be used in the mountains, and flying into residential areas inhabited by civilians, which are no-fly zones, threatened the safety of civilians. Hope you never do that again.
@Tucker Gott. I understand why you marvellous flyboys look about, and the quality of your helmet-cam is deliriously wonderful, but I am becoming quite nauseous with the excellent quality to and fro shooting. Can we raise funds for a Chesty (Bond) Camera?. This will show a general direction for most of the time, but 'headcam' can be cut in later as punctuation or emphasis. You are flying my dream. I thank you most energetically. Captain.
Hike up the hill, MRE, heat it up, fly, consider also landing in Rice paddy but finds great LZ in town. Fun video. I Enjoy the sightseeing. What town? Is that outer edges of Seoul?
So, this reminds me to ask the question: How does it work when flying in other countries - especially those that DO require paraglider/paramotor pilots to have licenses and such? As an American, do you have to acquire the necessary licenses/ratings in order to fly in such countries? Or, can you just say, "Hey, in America, we don't need no stinkin' ratin'." and just show up and fly?
You just need to check the local laws. This may be able to explain it better than me. www.ushpa.org/page/things-to-know-travel www.ushpa.org/page/ippi-cards-for-international-travel
It's nice to see that Mark is enjoying his retirement. Good on him. :)

Excellent video. After I get proficient on my paramotor I’m going to take up paragliding.
Great vid, Honeycutt. This countryside looks amazing. What kind of shoes are those? Don't go traipsing across the DMZ in em. Yikes.
Seemed intentional not accidental 🤷♂️😝 so sick though, nice video 🤗
