Hi, this video has just answered my exact question and answered it perfectly too. The E&P system just keeps giving and giving. Thanks for taking the time to put the video together, very much appreciated.

Thanks for watching and for the great feedback, pleased it helped you and couldn't agree more on how great the E&P is..

Great video. Don’t have the handbrake on before you raise the far side ?

Thanks for watching, I have the handbrake on at all times apart from when I am fitting the locks and need to rotate the wheels a little.

@@wardieswobblebox Thanks for the reply. And it’s ok that the caravan moves forward when I drop it down once fitted ?

From what I understand, it happens with and without the E&P, I used to have a lock and level and it did it with that too. It only moves an inch or so but feels like a lot more..

    Hi Chris
Yet another great video . When I do this I also chock the offside wheels so they can't move but I never put the offside hydraulic leg down. Will do that next time. Do you leave all the e&p system down over the winter. I worry that the center legs may rust? Keep up the good work. Dave

Thanks for the support Dave, it's very much appreciated. I do leave my legs down all winter and was advised by the installer to spray and wipe some silicone spray on all of the exposed hydraulic legs twice a year, they get a spray and wipe around easter time but at the end of October, I just spray and wipe away when it gets the spring clean, I use the WD silicone with the yellow lid but others are just as good, same spray I use for the awning rail. Hope this helps - thanks, Chris

Just found your video. A few questions if I may: Do you have matching keys for both Al-Ko locks? Was this something you asked for, or is it something you can order? When the van settles on lowering the jacks do you apply the handbrake before or after lowering?
We have a Swift Challenger 650, and I’m seriously considering the E&P system after watching your other video.
    Many thanks.

Thanks for watching, we have two keys for the alko locks, I cheated and used my daughter's nail varnish to mark a small blob on one of the locks and one of the keys so I knew which key goes in which lock.
Always apply the handbrake and if not level, chock the offside before lowering the caravan back down, it will move slightly which is daunting the first time it happens.

Am I right in thinking that when you arrive on to your pitch, you raise the nearside, attach the wheel locks then lower the van and then use auto leveling?

    • @wardieswobblebox
      @wardieswobblebox  ปีที่แล้ว

That is the way I do it, don't know if right or wrong but following the instructions from the instaler on handover. I'm not sure if the system will auto level if you don't lower the wheels first. Also, in addition in raising the wheels on the nearside, I also lower the offside to lift the offside wheels a little so I don't have to chock those wheels.

Hi, what is the best way to remove them once the caravan has been levelled. Thanks.

Hi, you just need to reverse the fitting steps you take to fit the locks, except you do not need to raise the caravan to remove the locks. Thanks for watching..

It is much safer to leave the caravan attached to the tow car whilst you jack up the nearside of the caravan to fit the locks. You got away with your method because you were doing it on a level concrete surface. If you try to do that on a sloping pitch the caravan will slew to the right. Once you have the locks on you can apply the handbrake and disconnect the caravan from the car. Guess how I found that out!!

Thanks for watching and pointing that out, I can imagine that this would have been quite unnerving. We mostly pitch on hard standing pitches so haven't come across that yet, but many thanks for commenting this advice.
