I am from South India. I got no cultural connection with Pak. Wondering why Pak people always says we share same culture. Remember Bangladesh once. Did they have any cultural connection with Pak?.

FOR THE LAST TIME- some Indians being nice to some Pakistanis on foreign soil doesn't mean Indians see Pakistan as a friendly nation full of friendly people.We Indians are nice to every nationality when we go to other countries because on foreign soil we don't want to engage in unnecessary confrontations. We do remember Aman ki Asha initiative from 2000's. After 26/11 though, all of this talk became moot. Most Indians are now convinced that only hard power works with Pakistan establishment and will always trump cultural exchanges, open visa and other such initiatives. The decade of 1998-2008 was the best chance for this initiative but for Indians it seemed as if India was ready but the Pakistan establishment was not ready for peace. This highly frustrating failed decade of trying peace with Pakistan contributed to the subsequent hardening of foreign policy under Modi. For now it seems like no progress is on the horizon until Pakistan military establishment holds the reigns.

These Pakistanis are living in their 80s or 90s. They have still not come into terms with the current position of India and what Indians generally feel about Pakistan. india has tried to have peace with Pakistan in the past multiple times and it has failed. The country is divided on the basis of relgion in which one religion's stated position was that they can't coexist together. We do remember Aman ki Asha initiative from 2000's. After 26/11 though, all of this talk became moot. Most Indians are now convinced that only hard power works with Pakistan establishment and will always trump cultural exchanges, open visa and other such initiatives. The decade of 1998-2008 was the best chance for this initiative but for Indians it seemed as if India was ready but the Pakistan establishment was not ready for peace. This highly frustrating failed decade of trying peace with Pakistan contributed to the subsequent hardening of foreign policy under Modi. For now it seems like no progress is on the horizon until Pakistan military establishment holds the reigns.
