- Journalist and Editor of Aman ki Asha, Beena Sarwar, comes on The Pakistan Experience to discuss India-Pakistan relations.

Beena Sarwar is a Pakistani journalist, artist and filmmaker focusing on human rights, media and peace.
She resides in Boston and is currently the editor of the Aman ki Asha (Hope for Peace) initiative, that aims to develop peace between the countries of India and Pakistan.
The initiative is jointly sponsored by the Jang group in Pakistan and the Times of India across the border.
In March 2021, she founded the Southasia Peace Action Network or SAPAN along with other peace activists from across South Asia. In August 2022, Sapan informally launched Sapan News Network, a news and features syndicated service in the making. She is its founding editor.
The Pakistan Experience is an independently produced podcast looking to tell stories about Pakistan through conversations.

I am from South India. I got no cultural connection with Pak. Wondering why Pak people always says we share same culture. Remember Bangladesh once. Did they have any cultural connection with Pak?.

As a south Indian i dont feel any cultural connection towards pakistan. Even for new generation of indians specially whose ancestors had connections to Pakistan might forget it sooner. Its peaceful for India to not maintain any relationship with pakistan.

Shehzad, I have to say I'm a bit fed up of your constant comparison between Modi and Zia. It is way, WAY too farfetched. Modi did not topple an elected regime, he did not come in unelected. Despite being a Hindu nationalist, he's nowhere near the lunatic religious zealot that Zia was. Modi's India has not depended on alms from the west (a la Pakistan of the 80s) to propel its economic growth. The judiciary still remains independent; rest assured, 40 years hence, our judges will not need to express remorse at having hung a man under the pressure of their supreme leader.
