I cannot imagine how being an F-22 pilot feels. I know flight hours are a small percentage of the job, but flying those jets has to be the most thrilling experience.
Believe if or not flight hours are a pretty large part of flying in the USAF. According to regulation, they are required to log at least 200 hours a year. Many pilots log over 1000 flight hours per year. To put this into perspective, a pilot in the Iranian Air force is lucky to log more than 100 flight hours per year at most and often log less than 50.
@@ragingassassin6659 I know, the USAF is really big on providing the best, and most, training for their pilots. I was more talking about the broader picture of the a pilots duties. While they get all those flight hours. They spend far more time on the job preparing for flights, debriefing, etc.

It's not hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine that for thousands and thousands of years we lived in an old-fashioned way, and in the last 70 years, a sudden and sudden electronicization and advancement of technology began.
If you ever have the chance to see a F-22 up and personal it’s worth it. It really does distinguish itself from other fighters, and it does have an alienish mystique about it.
Amazing this model first flew in the 90s and to me it still absolutely looks like it's from the future. Especially when it starts to wiggle it's nozzles. Wouldn't be surprised if it turned into an autobot and stood upright.
that must be such a cool feeling. to know you are one of the lucky few pilots that gets to fly the most badass fighter jet ever made. and this is coming from someone who never had interest in flying. those things are just so damn cool

I get to see these guys practice formations in Savannah Georgia on my lunch and breaks at work. I noticed a pattern over the years of them ramping up the number of drills/practice flights they do in a week, then you don’t see or hear them for a few weeks. And then like clockwork you hear of a new conflict going on in the world.
Oh yeah. They're the size of small houses, which is incredible considering how maneuverable and fast they are. And there are a lot of fighters that are even larger than the f22
I love the sound of it in full afterburn I have been lucky enough to see one break the sound barrier and at low altitude it hurts every part of your body in a good way. I'm so glad the raptor is on my team because I wouldn't want to play against it.
