In Depth Analysis & Tafseer of Surha 114 NAS by Nouman Ali Khan

- Sūrat Al-Nās (Arabic: سورة الناس), or Mankind, is the 114th and last sura, or chapter, of the Qur'an, the Muslim holy book. It is a short six-verse invocation, asking Allah for protection from the Satan. It is a Makkan sura. Together with sura Al-Falaq it is also known as Al-Mu'awwidhatayn; dealing with roughly the same theme, they form a natural pair. There is a Sunnah tradition of reading this Sura over the sick or before sleeping.
Interpretation
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيم
Bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
Beginning is with Allah's personal name Ar'Reh'maan Who is The Fountain of Infinite Mercy. [Note: It should be remembered that it is not the written text/part/Ayah of سُورة [Chapter 114] and hence it is never numbered. For convenience of those readers who are already believers, this is traditionally printed since it is commanded in the Qur'aan to read/recite with the Name of Sustainer Lord, The Creator]
114:1 قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
Qul a'udhu bi rabbi n-nās
You, the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce, "I seek protection with the Sustainer Lord of the peoples; [114:01]
114:2 مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
Maliki n-nās
the Sovereign of the peoples, [114:02]
114:3 إِلَهِ النَّاسِ
the Iela'aha/Originator and Sustainer Lord of the peoples,[114:03]
114:4-6 مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ.. الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ.. مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ
from the fascinating and exciting disquiet and destabilization created by widespread engrossing conjectural murmur having qualitative trait of hiding, receding and sweeping things away to darkness. This Exciter from some belonging to species Jinn and human beings relays/inspires fascination in the chests/hearts of people" [114:4-6]
Context
According to Tafsir ibn Kathir, it has been reported from Abu Sa'id that: Muhammad used to seek protection from the evil eyes of the jinn and mankind. But when the Muawwidhatayn were revealed, he used them (for protection) and abandoned all else besides them. At-Tirmidhi, An-Nisai and ibn Majah recorded this.

Allah give you the best Jannahs. Ameen. Brother nouman khan was saying about how shaytaan runs through the human like blood and how he approaches the chest of humans..... Allah reward him. Ameen. But when he mentioned jinn posession the lack of knowledge on the subject showed SubhanAllah. 'Slaves who obey Allah it does not happen to. But it happens to the others who blast music....' sorry brother this is not right to say. Allah protect us and you ameeen
in response to DORRIAN33 - When the Br stated that 'jinn are just people fired up' he is referring to how scientific rationalists view the creation of jinn - this is not his own opinion or that of the shariah. Yes, jinn are made from smokeless fire and yes, not all jin are bad.
I want to address something the brother said.. Its my understanding that jinn is made of smokeless fire.. how do this relate to anger? Not all jinn are bad. There are some jinn that are muslim. It was said that when rasool allah used to recite, the jinn would take it back to other jinn and they would come to belief. Allah has made his book clear and easy to understand and we shouldnt innovate its meaning.
Fire is both good and bad...just like jinn and humans
