25:10 NATO would not have worked in 1914 because there were no nukes. NATO provides protection for non nuclear nations in return for buying time for the USA, Uk and France.

@@islandsedition collective security works as a concept without nuclear weapons. It's been done throughout human history.
      What's your point?

@@stormyprawn collective security only works in certain contexts. Between immediate neighbours and over relatively short distances it is feasible with conventional weapons. Over longer distances, especially when potential allies like the US don't face any existential threat, there is little to no will to get involved. This is why the US was hesitant to enter either of the great wars. Even the UK was reluctant to get involved in war in Europe because it had the benefit of a relative barrier between the mainland. This meant more in ww1 than in ww2 because the threat from the air was more of a concern in the latter conflict.
It is basically down to how much damage can a country sustain over a long distance. Conventional weapons over 3-6000 miles have limited effect whereas one or two nukes getting through are a game changer.
You can band together all you like, but with modern conventional weapons you'd better hope yours are better and more plentiful and you have more soldiers to throw at the enemy otherwise you loose.
The whole of Europe could band together against a Russian attack, but Russia has the numbers and will just keep throwing people at the problem just like they always have. Even if they don't win, it would be a stalemate.
The nukes are (sadly) the only thing that would stop this even begining.
The whole point of NATO is that it is a deterrent.

The organization mentioned is utilized for the entire oppose of it's original intended purpose and the sad event described was caused not by the country claimed. It is paramount that UK and global citizens not be taken in by the rhetoric of the main stream media. We are being deceived. Please do look at alternative sources of information and as always use the grey matter we have the blessing to possess. May this comment survive and reach you. Welcome to 1984

Oh FFS, calling brutal dictatorships that were formed thanks to ruzzian Wagner interference hope is stretching things a bit don't you think?
Mind you, i'm not saying that France is great or colonialism didn't happen, just that switching one "master" for an even more brutal one is quite daft.
