Her victim said that what her abuser did "wasn't that bad" and that she deserved to be released. Sounds exactly like what an abused person says either through coaching, gaslighting, threats. Glad to hear she's in therapy. Not sure if or why a therapist would be okay with a victim testifying to release their abuser from the consequences of their criminal act.

She was going to be released regardless soon after this hearing and had they denied her parole, she would be released free of any kind of monitoring or management. The board members know what theyre doing (most of the time) They want her watched and monitored and most of all they want to require she take extensive offender classes and they could not do so unless she was released under supervision (parole)

YIKES! This is infuriating! I can't believe the board fell for that entire interview. If a man said ANY of the things she did, they'd deny her release. She made several conflicting statement. She denied the abuse. She never took responsibility for the multiple abuses. She repeatedly said "THE" victim; she never said "my" victim. She denied the abuse. She blamed her victim in her police statement by saying she/the sex offender was COERCED into the acts by her victim. She blamed her husband for causing her to sexually abuse her juvenile victim. One of the instances of abuse took place at the hospital where her adoptive mother was a patient?! Her "mistake" (according to her) was in denying she had to be registered as a sex offender, not that she IS a sex offender. She threw everything against the wall and it appeared the board not only made it stick, they ate it all up. Abused spouse, learning disability, one leg shorter than the other via childhood accident, she didn't do it, she did do it, but she was forced to by abuse husband, she didn't do it, but she was coerced into doing it by her victim. Too disabled to work... right. I wonder what her parents are like. Something is NOT right with her victim calling in to make a legal statement saying she supports her abuser's release. THIS IS SO WRONG.

      @janebrown3587 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@onlyJann I agree that too many don't get the punishment they deserve and the public at large/pool of future victims is not protected from them! In this case, she NEVER took responsibility for her actions and THAT is the first step. At least some of the men know what to say/lie about what they learned in Victim Awareness classes - this female only related it to herself being in denial. She learned NOTHING about what she did and her impact on her victim.

This is INSANITY. She openly admitted that she’s still in denial and for her victim to say she deserves a second chance and that “it could’ve been much worse” is concerning to say the least. Only shows how manipulative her offender is, which btw was proven with how easily she played the board. Being disabled doesn’t mean you can’t be a danger to others. I’m a survivor of csa and unfortunately it happened again when I was in my early twenties. The guy also had a limb difference, that didn’t somehow made my trauma less serious. This is disgusting, she’ll reoffend in no time if she doesn’t even want to acknowledge her role in it all and I’m so sorry for any future victims.

Everybody I've ever seen in one of these hearings have to go through the uncomfortable but necessary task of admitting and explaining their crime in detail. By listening to that whole thing I still have no clue what she did. But SA with a child, and only getting 3 yrs is ridiculous in the first place. Now she gets away with not even serving that. There's nothing wrong with bringing in some younger and more freshly trained members, but only in addition to the current board members. Huh. I just had a thought, lol. I was going to say it would be educational to new members to attend these interviews to observe and make their own notes of the inmates and how they'd vote. They could discuss things afterwards with members and get their further insight, etc., but as far as we know, they're already doing that. * I love it when I have a thought and have to smack my own forehead and laugh at myself *

I’m late to this but she definitely was manipulating - And I’m just wondering, do they vet and verify the victims who call in and aren’t on video? Bc I’m thinking..
      1) this isn’t even the victim on the phone and it’s someone else, maybe the biological mother, pretending to be her
      2) it was the victim but her bio mom (who knows, maybe her foster mom) wrote the letter and told her what to read
      3) “it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been” if the victim said this, I believe she’s been immensely gaslit and I have major concerns for her well-being ..
      💥 abu$e is abu$e, no matter if it *could’ve been worse* 💥
From what I’m understanding one incident happened in a hospital room, while visiting biological mom in the hospital?? But she says bio mom wants nothing to do with victim but yet bio mom was going to testify on behalf of the roach-ess??
Idk I just feel like there’s a lot of lies and manipulation going on and I believe it involves more than one adult - the only victim is THE VICTIM and even if it wasn’t “as bad as it could be” she was still victimized and deserves justice.. at minimum she deserves for people to be accountable and not lie or down play the abu$e they caused her - love, light and blessings to the victim and I hope one day she’s able to see the truth and scream it from the mountains bc these predators need to be known (and just imagine how many more victims are going to suffer bc of the slap on the wrist they gave this evil roach-ess 💔🤬)

Look how her attitude changed when she realized shes not getting everything she wants. She is SICKENING!!! Shes a master manipulator! She uses her "disability" as a tool to manipulate. Im pissed that they didnt make her fess up to anything. Each time they asked her to tell them what she did, she manages to skate around it!!! Then she goes to "i didnt do it"! Shes a sick wierdo. And i guarantee she will do it again. I understand why they give her parole. Im glad they did. Cuz i believe she will mess up, and end up back in jail!

I live in SE Louisiana so watching these parole hearings with you is mind blowing! Having worked in a psychiatric hospital for over a decade I know without a doubt that that predators are non rehabilitatable! Just like personality disorders. I agree with you 100% on this woman and find it disgusting she literally got away with this. She will do it again!! Any predator should be locked away forever the 1st time they are caught!! They are always so lenient with woman and it makes me sick!!!

Yes she was playing up to her disability, she kept forgetting to play the part. She coudnt wait to say the victims mother" didnt want ANYTHING to do with her . " in such an opininated tone. Maybe her husband was in the process of divorcing her. Her argumentative attitude with "I did NOT apply for parole " ..... "I live with my mum ,they sleep with her anyway " her TONE is hardly humble is it. ? ,It sounds like NOTHING is ever her fault .I wonder how often her mother also takes the blame ,for her foisty daughters behaviour. Imagine if she wants some extra money to go out ,I fear her mother comes in for some stick.

I do think she has a mental disability however that does not excuse what she did. If she does indeed have a learning disability it will impact her ability to grasp the material in the sex offender classes. She’s barely started so a long, long way to go. Definitely should not be around her children. Therapy is required for sure. I don’t think she is ready for release. More to this story.

I don't know if anybody oversees that panel or establishes professional guidelines. You'd THINK they'd know the obvious, considering that they are all retired. Pearl wouldn't tolerate an offender to play with their phone while she was talking. Just common decency. She's not being PAID to pop in and out of lucidity at a proceeding that is supposed to be serious.

I believe she really has intellectual issues. I also suspect she is a vulnerable narcissist. I don't think either is an excuse She absolutely won't even admit an offense occurred, let alone that she is to blame. I'm guessing the victim was an older teen and believes she has this more under control than she does, I hope she gets some real help with that. As soon as she said about living with mom and the kids the first time I knew that wasn't going to happen. I suspect she has had a lot of things explained to her and she pretends she doesn't understand. The crocodile tears were ridiculous.

I’m convinced Mrs. Pearl Wise can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. State of Louisiana has her on the board for nothing but good reasons, just like the rest of the board members. Each parole board member has unique characteristics and flaws😉 but they’re distinguished and accomplished Judges who have studied and practiced law. We don’t know what exactly PW is doing on phone all the time, but I guarantee she’s very “Wise” and knows what she’s doing with her tasks at hand.
