    Wider tires are less risky NOT more risky. Why would more traction be risky? You are not providing any good advise whatsoever. Most guys are running 325 and even up to 345 and you are not going to snap a half shaft on a NA S550 with wide tires, LOL. Humming noise? HaHa, who hears tire humming over the exhaust note?

  • @NotJustYourCarGuy
    @NotJustYourCarGuy ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is what I found to be the perfect fitment on my S550
    Wheels I went with Forgestar F14 custom rotary formed wheels because they had the specific specs I was wanting. I have no hum or noise in the rear, spacers, no rubbing or scrubbing and I don't have any ABS issues because even though my back tire is slightly taller than the front tire by .5", it is within the .75" height difference range you really want to stay in for that rear tire compared to the front as to not have ABS issues. I stayed at a 1/2 inch difference taller in the rear to be a little on the safe side.
    I heard you talk about jumping to a 305/45/19 in the rear. If running that in the rear and a 285/35/19 in the front that would be a 28.6" tall rear tire and a 26.9" tall front tire giving you a difference of 1.7" rake. I wouldn't feel comfortable with that on an S550 I am out aggressively touring in. Maybe an old hot rod or drag car. Something to think about.
    This is what I ultimately went with.
    Front: 19x9.5 deep concave with a +35mm offset and a 6.6” backspace
    Rear: 19x11 deep concave with a +56mm offset and a 8.2” backspace
    For tires I am running a 275/35/ZR19 in the front and a 305/35/ZR19 out the back.
    I did not want to run spacers, I didn’t want to do 20s and I didn’t want to run anything over a 275 in the front on a 19x9” wheel. I went with the +35mm offset for the 9.5” wheels in the front of the rather than a +29mm offset because the 29 would stick each front wheel out 6mm further per side and cause it to swing a wider arc when turning especially with my car being lowered, increasing the chances of having the tire contact the fender liner. My car is lowered on Steeda progressive springs paired up with pro active shocks and struts and about everything else in their sport/street catalog. Sticking with that size wheel and offset in the front as well as front and rear Steeda adjustable sway bars eliminated most the consequential oversteer from the staggered setup.
    You can check out my build on my Instagram: ozark_stang

    Going from stock pp1 wheels and 275 series tires which weigh 62-75lbs.. to an aftermarket wider wheel and 315’s usually you LOSE 10-20lbs per corner. Which would be way way less stress on your car and parts lol. This dude needs to stick to hair and makeup not cars 😂😂
