These short films have become fascinating social documents and a visual record of a world that really doesn't exist anymore. Some of the cars are still with us, but sadly the people are gone.
My late Uncle Brian raced his Mini Cooper S in Autograss in the 1970's. I remember going to watch him at a place called Strongford on the A34 between Stoke on Trent and Stafford. Brilliant!!! Thanks for putting this up. Where did this simple but wonderful world slip away to? 😊
@@HamishRacing Very happy indeed. I used to cycle to his rented workshop where my uncle and his friend 'Belph' worked on their Cooper Ss. I raced motocross when it was still called scrambling and did a little shot circuit racing on an old Yamaha TZ350. Currently building my Norton Domiracer Lowboy replica, 'Rocinante' for, perhaps, a last hoorah 🙂
Many thanks!!! These films are so charming and engaging. Great to see these classic cars when new having a go! They also make me mourn a time long gone that was so special and joyous.
Dang, I appear to have been scuppered by the external links policy. If, however, you’d like to know more about Bertie Sayers and his cars there’s an article titled “Aberties - The Bertie Sayers Story” contributed to by his son / my Grandad on AutoPuzzles.

So weird (but amazing) to see rally champ Rodger Clark thundering round a field in a cortina lol
Thank you for posting this! I was looking up something in relation to my Great Grandfather Bertie Sayers when I came across your video 😊
There are films of the same era that my dad made on my channel that my have more for you ?!
@@HamishRacing Thanks! I’ll take a look and bring my Dad’s (the family historian) attention to them.
Just a quick comment to say I really appreciate these videos and the time spent to preserve them on TH-cam. Thanks 🙂
Fantastic, loved every minute of it, can you believe the World was once like this ! Born in '61 so have had some great years. Lovely vid, thanks.
Many thanks once again.
Great vintage footage and classic humour. They don’t make em like that any more...
