Am I the only one who hardcore wants another solo album from Gerard? I loved this one a lot, and I really want a chance to see him live, whether it be with the rest of MCR or not.

What I love about Gerard's voice is that it's not what's considered to be a professionally good voice in music. He doesn't try any of the little qwirks or try to make it sound cliche at all. He just sings as his voice naturally is. He sings in a way anyone can. Which is why I can never listen to his voice and not feel inspired to go and sing. I wouldn't have the confidence I do today in my band as the lead singer if it wasn't for Gerard. As cliche as that sounds in its self, its true. His voice is beautiful, it has meaning, passion and is truly from his heart. (That's what makes a good vocalist, not anything else :) )

plus the pianist had a pretty bad voice in this recording, making gerard sound like he was about to pass out. im not trying to be mean, but could he at least clear his throat?

He showed everybody how rock was supposed to be done, and now he's showing everybody how Brit-Pop should be done. Gerard Way all the way!
If you watch the full performance, he's actually super excited about being there. You can tell that he was just exhausted here. This was the next to last song he performed. You can find the whole show if you just search for it.
Do you know if he performed any MCR songs?
He said he didn't want to at the beginning because people would start to expect that from him, but maybe in the future he would and that would have to be a special thing. He said that in a recent interview.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that Gerard is going solo, but does anyone else notice the fact that it looks like Gerard wants so be sassy and sexy and wild, but he holds himself back? I can see it somewhat in the way he carries himself. Maybe that's just me but idk

looking at him performing without his "brothers" especially mikey is really new to my eyes. my eyes is searching for mikey and ray and frank and others but as i look to Gerard right now im also content and happy for him because it feels like he have grown now, continuing to grow more and learn more, not holding everything back and he's just having a good time enjoying each moments in doing what he loves.

***** It might be that he's nervous. It's natural. This is the first time he's releasing music since MCR's break up but also it's been a long time since he's perform live on stage before an audience. Give him some time ;)
He is a lot older though so maybe it's more like "Ahhh I wanna crawl around on the stage but... My back."
He could be thinking: "I'm wearing a suit, suit people don't get sassy."
I honestly don't know how to feel. I feel like he's not used to performing after like a year of no concerts. I also feel like he's still in the MCR energy feel but then realised 'wait this isn't MCR, I can't fake an orgasm on stage'. I feel like this is more restricting to him, because he channels his energy slowly and doesn't just give it his all... I mean, he probably does give it his all but I feel like he can't be more expressive because of the new vibe.
Wow I'm so disappointed reading these comments, MCRmy I thought you were better than this. You don't have to like his new music, hell you don't even have to listen to it! But comparing this to MCR is not fair to the music, and it's not fair to Gerard. MCR didn't break up because they all wanted to go solo and play similar things to MCR. They've said before that it just wasn't making them happy anymore, and I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather they be happy and making different music than to let them go on being MCR but being miserable. I mean if that happened then the music wouldn't have any real meaning, it would just be a fan service, and music shouldn't be about pleasing others for money, it should be about loving what you do and enjoying yourselves, and if people like it, awesome, if they don't, well then they're missing out. Shame on the people being so negative towards Gerard.

I dunno how you can "dispose" the MCRmy, but I am in the MCRmy and I love Gerard's solo music, along with Franks. They're both great.
And by the way, the that ain't necessarily the true/ whole reason as to why they broke up. Mikey didn't want to do it anymore, and in 2009, Bandit was born. Not too long after, Gerard almost went back to his behaviour of 2001-2005. This included his addictions. He didn't want to go back to the addictions, and he also was always on tour, leading to Gerard not being able to see Lynz nor Bandit. This made Gerard break up the band. It wasn't necessarily that they weren't happy with MCR, Frank said he loved being in the band.

i adore gerards music - its such an interesting and new kind of vibe . you can clearly see the bowie influence and im really glad he went solo. i wish people would stop comparing it to MCR since its music in its own right and shouldn't be held back by nostalgic fans

Yeah his last concert was in 2009, it's the same as saying oohh it's weird not seeing matt pellissier on there... The drummer he's using was the last MCR drummer ;)
I didn't really consider him a part of the band. Especially with what he did.. Bob for me made MCR during those years as their drummer...
hah what Jarrod did was helping the band out because they fired the drummer before him during tour, and matt made more albums with the guys then bob did.

I live in France and I've been dreaming of going to Reading Festival for so looong ! Every time I had saved enough money nobody wanted to go with me (and every time somebody wanted to go with me I couldn't afford it) xD ! And next summer I'm finally going !!! It's gonna cost me an arm and a leg but that's totally worth it !

As an MCR fan, is it selfish of me to say he looked upset up there? It may be because I miss MCR but I feel like he looked happier while performing when MCR was still together..
Thats what I thought. But to be honest, I'd be nervous on stage without the people I've been on stage with for over 10+years...
It's his first concert in a year, he was probably a bit scared and unprepaired and it's something new for him. But I think it will be better when he will start touring ;)
And actually half of the band is on stage. Gerard, Jarrod Alexander and James Dewees were all in MCR
I think he's trying to focus on the quality of his vocals now, seems a little upset but I just think he's nervous.
I don't think its selfish of you, but as an MCR fan myself, there is an interview where Gerard says that he could never perform without his band. Now this was waaay back when they released their second album. The fact that he's gone solo is both sad (because I wish MCR was around to always make music), but also sweet because he's probably grown so much and gained enough confidence to take this one alone- to walk that road alone, awake and unafraid. :)

Oh, I still have my old MCR shirt is actually washed, changed from black to gray hahaha I used to use it all the time. Long ago I stopped listening to MCR and never wore that shirt again, my musical taste has changed a bit, but I remember the way their music meant to my adolescent, is a treasure. Gerard is an inspiration, I wish him all the best. I think the things that mean so much we will never forget, we maintain only asleep in a special place in our hearts, at one time or another, like this, we remember with some nostalgia. Saudades...
