That is a great light for the price. I used only one for a back yard party it light up the yard with no problem. The gobo effects look nice.👍🏼

Is there any way you can do a side by side comparison of the inno pocket roll and the inno roll, to see the difference in light output? please :)

Hi, ich bin ein großer Fan von deinen Videos!!
Jetzt hab ich mal eine Frage.. Weißt du noch welches Programm du hattest in deinem Video bei 1:14 Minuten?
Würde mich über eine Antwort freuen..

Both the inno pocket roll & the inno pocket scan are interesting & affordable! But I had a question Brian, would these be good in a medium sized venue? (size of the venue)

  • @johnq6123

Which would have a better showing in fog, 2 x MICRO IMAGE RGB or 2 x POCKET ROLL? They both have same price point so I'm trying to compare based on cost to effect. Thanks

    Hey Brian.
I still haven't gotten an answer from anyone in regards to this question.
Why didn't ADJ just take the the already designed separate color/gobo wheel cluster from the Inno Pocket Spot and build a scanner and roller housing around it? Instead they went to the expense of redesigning it with less functionality by using a combined color/gobo wheel. Now you can't have your favorite gobo with any color you want or your favorite color with any gobo you want. Shouldn't the "Inno Pocket SERIES" have the same functionality across the three fixtures for easier show programming. If it were so in your DMX software you could select all your spots and scans and the same gobo channel values would apply and the same color channel values would apply. You could then cluster all your rolls and assign the same gobo channel value as the spots and scans but give them a contrasting color. There would be a continuity between the three fixtures in the "Inno Pocket Series." It would even allow the three fixtures to be linked together master slave in show mode and a spot could be the master to a slave roll without a DMX controller or software.
So thats the real question. Why did ADJ go to the expense to engineer a lower functioning fixture when thy could have taken a parts cluster off the shelf and built a scanner and roller around that? I know you are tight with ADJ. Could you get that answer for those of us who are asking. I'm really not the only one. Thanks.

Well, here are my guesses on this: First off, the "pocket" bit of the Inno series has to do with size & the 12 watt CREE LED, making them the entry level, yet brighter than most would expect fixture in the series. Second is price point. The Roll & Scan are about $100 (MAP) less than the Spot. Many would have a hard time paying the same price for a scanner as they would a moving head in the same level in the series. Thing is, there are Inno Rolls & Inno Scans if you want more functions. There are loads of Inno moving heads that do a lot more than the Pocket Spots. The Pockets are not supposed to be for everyone or be feature loaded. They are for those who don't give a monkey about many of the things the higher level lights ion the series offer. Simple, affordable, & small is the key here... but those are just my best guesses.

I guess I'm Trying to say to ADJ is they could have just saved a lot of time and money by going to the assembly shelf and pulling a already assembled color/gobo wheel cluster and the same DMX processor board from the Pocket Spot and just built a scanner and roller casing around it.
It would have saved them time and money in the design phase
It would save them time and money in the manufacturing phase as well to have three different fixtures with the same internal parts.
Scanners and rollers ARE cheaper to build and with the cost savings of using one part cluster for three fixtures they could still be sold at their current prices. The Scanner and Roller might sell ok as a lower functioning fixture but if they had the same functionality and DMX values as the Pocket Spot they would fly off the shelves at their current price and ADJ could stand to make MORE money from volume. Large Prosound and Light Rental shops capable of doing their own repairs would eat this up as well since they could order one part for three fixtures or even scavenge a roller to fix a spot or scan.
Many DJs (and Bands) who have been content to run sound active without a DMX controller might get the fixture (as I describe it COULD be manufactured) and say "Maybe I SHOULD get a controller (or software) so I can use these fixtures to their fullest...HMMMMM now that I have a controller I ought to get a couple of Pocket Spots for my light show as well. Hey! My light show is nicer now. It looks more professional. It's worth more. I'm going to raise my rates to reflect that. Hey with my rates higher I can now afford more lights or better sound or WIFLY or a trip to a convention or some DJ seminars/classes and make more money to afford more..."
I love ADJ. I just think they dropped the ball on this one.

Herfmonster Hi - The pocket scan and roll have a single wheel and as far as i can see it is on other products in the lighting arena so will not have been a seperate design etc - will have been sourced easily. Hope that helps! im sure that will have helped to keep the costs down compared to the pocket spots.

@@Herfmonster ADJ is really stupid when it comes to modern scanners. Chauvet is beating them up with 3 prisms on a scanner and separate gobo/color wheep

Question maybe anyone who has the pocket series can answer.. Just getting into lighting and wanted to know if the pocket series were sufficient enough lights to do if I were doing school dances in gyms? Thinking about getting 4 pocket spots and 2 pocket rolls but don't know if they're bright enough for that big of space! Thanks for the help

Can you link the inno pocket rolls, inno pocket scans and inno pocket spots all together with dmx ? As I have two inno pocket spots and was thinking about get the inno pocket roll, inno pocket scan to make a great light show

If you mean whit master slave the it won't work because they have different dmx values so when you pan your inno pocket spot maybe your inno pocket scan wil strobe and thats not good but if you bough a dmx controller it would make a nice show

you actually can, they will work master-slave because the pan and tilt are actually the same values so that will work and it looks amazing. (I have only read this but done it with other fixtures so it should work)

Hi Brain, I'm after your opinion regarding the adj inno pocket roll, I have a pair of adj inno pocket spots and there great, I'm looking at getting a pair of inno pocket rolls but my local DJ shop won't stock them and nowhere withing 80miles from me keep them for demo as they all say there very dim and poor compared to the pocket spots but from ur videos they look very similar, are they all talking rubbish as they want so sell something more expensive or would you agree with them? Thanks in advanced, Ben

How would you address six inno pocket wash what would be slave 1 and slave 2 for A good look

    • @Carbonyzed
      @Carbonyzed 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+lou reed I roll with it like so with six.
      Master | Slave2 | Slave 1 | Slave 1 | Slave 2 | Slave 1
But I also play with the pan invert so I get it looking like a full mirror image
      MASTER SLAVE SETTINGS
      Master | Slave2 | Slave 1 | Slave 1 | Slave 2 | Slave 1
      INVERT SETTINGS
      No | Yes | Yes | No | No | Yes
That way it looks like this little diagram
      where | < | is a light looking left and | > | is a light looking right
      | * | are slave 2 lights so sometimes do the same as master (but with pan adjustments) or sometimes do a complimentary colour.
      | < | | >* | | < | | > | | |

I do like this light but the one thing that was failed to be mentioned was that in order to use the optional remote for these lights, you have to be in front of them to use it! I bought the remote so I didn't have to go dmx. This is a huge design flaw.

Another great review from Brian. I'm thinking of adding another Pocket Roll to my ADJ Inno Pocket collection. (Which so far is one Roll. two Scans, and one Wash.)
Somebody on Amazon answered a question about using the ADJ/Accu F4 bag for other than PAR fixtures with the link to Brian's video:
I'll be adding at least one F4 case to my wish list.
