    I need something like this to start off with my lighting or I could save up for 6 par cans and 2 chauvet intimidator 350's along a truss or on two Tbars either side of the DJ booth.

      Unless you are going to be using them in a large school gym, or bigger venue, and with complicated dmx programming, a pair of 350s would be overkill, especially if you are starting out. There are much cheaper moving heads that are perfectly bright in small/medium size venues, and the more expensive moving heads are only effective when using dmx programming. Get some lights that can wash colors on the dance floor/wall/ceiling, maybe a pair of cheap scanners or even just a moonflower/effect light or two, and you should be set. My suggestion for moonflower effect light would be either chauvet circuis 2.0 or chauvet swarm 5fx

    Does the small remote work if you're behind the truss? or do you need to be in front of the light?

    How large of a venue do you think these could serve?

    What I find baffling about the whole color+gobo wheel issue, is that my Chauvet MinSPOTs which were manufactured ~10 years ago, have an RGB LED light source in addition to a gobo wheel, and yet are just as small if not smaller than the Pocket Scan. Ever since being discontinued, however, compact light fixtures from ADJ and Chavuet no longer offer such a feature. Hmmm.

      Maybe its because a color wheel provides a cleaner output than an RGB source. When that is used you commonly get an ugly discolored edge where the colors don’t mix right. I don’t know though.
      Also, in 2001 American DJ made a light called the Pocket Scan. It was very similar in size to the Inno Pocket Scan, yet it had seperate color and gobo wheels. It also had a laser in it, similar to the Inno Pocket Fusion, except it doesn’t have multiple beams. Just one red beam, but it is still cool. I used to have a pair and they were pretty nice. I just wish they were brighter, because they only had a 100 watt halogen lamp.

    @joe can you use sound active mode on these with pocket rolls while on master/slave mode? Also, you said on your other video that these wont work on master slave mode with the pocket spot. is that still true? lastly, does these come with remotes like the pocket spots?

    ***** Please can you do a video on on how you edit your videos (what software, camera you use and music). Thanks.

      I don't know what software or music, but I do know he uses a canon 70d, which is pretty good for video at the price.

    ADJ can't fit a separate colour and gobo wheel? why didn't they just put in an RGB LED

    am i doing something wrong here or is the only way to get these things out of DMX mode and into sound activated mode is to unplug the DMX cable? following step by step to the manual it never takes and just goes back to the same dmx channel it was in. unplugging the cable, they go right into sound activated mode

    Could you let me know the stage area and the height of the lighting bar for the video demo? I know it depends a lot too on the camera used and exposure, but it'd give me some idea of the area which these are suitable to cover. Thanks!
    Oh - nice videos by the way. Keep up the coolness! :D

      The truss is 1.5m long and 1.5m up from the stage. These lights do great for most venues. Its only when you get into spaces where you have a really long throw that brightness might become an issue

    Does this light have a sound active mode?

    • @dougclark6018
      @dougclark6018 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      From the user manual: "Operating Modes: The Inno Pocket Scan can operate in three different modes. In each mode you can run the fixture as a stand alone fixture or in a master/slave configuration. This next section will detail the differences in the operating modes.
      • Sound Active mode -
      The fixture will react to sound, chasing through the built-in programs.
      • Show mode -
      The fixture will run one of 12 shows.
      • DMX control mode -
      This function will allow you to control each individual fixtures traits with a standard DMX-512 controller."
      Show Mode will run with or without Sound Active on. I got two today, and I know it's going to take me awhile to learn all the features.

  • @BartKrap

    There is actually not much space in there like he said. But there are other brands that have lights not much bigger than this one and they do have a separate color and gobo wheel.

    • @BartKrap
      @BartKrap 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      And they are as or even more bright

    • @jldjukvideo
      @jldjukvideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      True but this light is really small and has amazing build quality. Its also incredibly affordable considering for less than £130

    • @BartKrap
      @BartKrap 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I know, and for sound active it is not such a big problem. But since I do lighting for a living, even in small venues, a color and gobowheel are very important. For this light that is a big limit for productions. ADJ is missing quite a lot of money for not making a seperate color and gobowheel. Off course it would be a bigger light but only for about 2 to 3 cm so... I think they should do both, colorgobowheel(cheaper) for small mobile DJ and a color and gobowheel (more expensive) for "professional" productions, clubs and bigger mobile DJs.

    • @jldjukvideo
      @jldjukvideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      BartKrap I see where your coming from but you have to think about who ADJ designed this light for. Its not meant to be used for big productions. its meant for a small mobile DJ setup

    • @BartKrap
      @BartKrap 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Yes, I know, but it can handle itself pretty well in productions, I have used it once because someone decided to bring them with them so I could try them out. The lights are pretty impressive, even on stage, they give a very sharp beam and are still visible when all the high powered lights are on. And yes, they were not designed for production but even with small DJ setups, when using DMX, do not have the full power of these lights. But still, they are amazing XD

    What dmx controllers does it work with ?

    • @jldjukvideo
      @jldjukvideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      DMX is a control standard so it would work with any DMX controller than can control over 6 channels

    Can I pick your brain ??? I'm looking at these or something similar. Whaat does 'PAN' yes/no do ? I want two lights running the same from dmx , but one pionting left when the other points right ect - like a mirror image... Would I have to program seperatly or can theses do that ??? Or is there a similar light that can ???

    • @jldjukvideo
      @jldjukvideo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lethoscorpia Pan yes/no is an invert option. It does exactly what you are trying to do. It just reverses the pan so if one fixture points left the other will point right
