I'm working on earning my bachelors degree in computer science while still working full time and being middle aged and having health issues. Setting Goals and I have never gotten along but I think it's because I never defined them specifically. And never made them match up to my values. So I'm willing to give your tips a try! Catch you in other videos to let you know how it's going!❤

The idea of analyzing values first has lead to me to rethink my 2024 goals. It's an interesting self review journey. I'm nowhere near finished, but I'm creating my daily task list from a different perspective already. Thank you for creating this videos. I really appreciate your unique vision & love your playfulness.

Ok, a few thoughts on this. First, the youtube algorithm is failing me because I only found your (amazing!) channel yesterday! Second, this was THE BEST goal setting video I've ever watched. I love how you started with the values and shared some practical tools to clearly define them. Lastly, you editing is amazing and you are really funny! The real last one, I'm so glad you ship your stickers to Portugal, already bought a few 😁

This video is AMAZING! I´ve being watching a lot of videos about planning and is usually a white dude in front of a white wall and stock footage. And its ok, dont get me wrong, but the level of creativity in this video is really special. Of course the content as well! I´m 35 and just 'went with the flow' ´til now, you know, surviving. But I´m getting off the autopilot and looking for a future working with things related to my values. Thanks for the video! XOXO from Brazil!

Challenge: every time you do not eat out, you put that money into the debt. 👀 I got a sort of special-treatment-for-broke-students with my (Chilean) college in which I could pay whatever money I had whenever I had it. I spent a lot of time working as a waitress back then. Every night I'd come home and pay whatever amount I had gotten that day in tips. It was _so_ rewarding. A bizillion tiny payments that meant less interest at the end.

Hi Simie, totally with you about the importance of good values, which are realistic, purposeful, and within one's control, is highlighted. We should all review these before trying to set goals :)

hey, I’ve been struggling with setting and pursuing goals consistently because I always set them because they “seemed cool”. I just did the exercise you explained about defining my values, and was somewhat surprised by the results. this is the third video of yours that I watch since I just discovered your channel today. thank you so much for the practical, actionnable tips you give. it’s so much better to have an actual exercise about defining your values than a “find your why” statement lol. I hope on a later day I can comment again that I reached some goals thanks to you :)
    have a gay day 🌈

Just discovered your channel and LOVED the video! I sometimes get an ick for creators talking about "self improvement" or ambicious goals, because most of the time they sound fake or unattainable. This video was very realistic and relatable for me! I already suspected, but now it's clear for me that I HAVE to have defined values. I've always had a hard time prioritizing things, and it's been negatively impacting my life, since I can't make choices, and get paralyzed. Defining top 3 values is def something i've been putting off for a long time, and now I think I'll be able to do so. Thank you!

Great video as always! It was a bit of a revelation to list values before goals, though now it seems obvious, heh. It never occurred to me before now to narrow values down first to make goals more achievable, but it makes perfect sense.

Thank you for the tips and nice breakdown of steps! Really makes me put thought into goals. There is science behind not telling people your goals in advance, as it triggers the good feels that you'd get from achieving a goal - but before the goal has perhaps started, and thus potentially setting ourselves up for failure. Love how creative you are, in all videos! 🎉

Defining values works. I did this random values exercise yyyyyears ago and I wasn’t confident in my 3 values initially but the values I picked from a list of like 50 I chose because I assigned a personal meaning to them. I base so many decisions off my values. I’ll take this weekend to revisit and maybe add two more.

throughout my working life, i have never set realistic goals, let alone smarter goals! it’s probably the major factor that nudged me to take early retirement 😉
work was no longer aligned to my personal values.
it’s funny i’m not learning to set smarter goals to make my retirement more creative 🤣
