Just in case somebody needs to hear it: I am proud of you. Yes you, reading this message, watching this video/channel to figure your situation out. I am proud of you for trying, for allowing yourself to grow, to let curiosity bring you the tools/methods for self improvement. And to dear Simie, bravo. It’s quite a new chapter in life, but I can already see a bright fulling future ahead. I’ll be around to watch it

    Simie,
Quitting your job takes courage. Not many people have the guts to protect their time and make their happiness non-negotiable.
TH-cam earnings might not be enough to crush people with your wallet or have a tiger as a pet....yet. However, I'd be hyped in general to have earnings as a creator. Everything else is just a matter of scale.
I found your channel awhile back while falling through the rabbit hole of journal setup videos, spreads and ideas.
I enjoy your style of storytelling and the effort you put into sharing your wins and losses. I find it inspiring and it reads as genuine.
I mainly write this to wish that your empire endures for 1,000 years and let you know that amid the sea of all your fans, I'm one of them.
    P.S : I joined the clurb

i also handed in my resignation letter a couple of days ago! my last day is still in about a month, since its an office job. i did quit out of burn out and anger (LMAO) but i think it's truly the best decision i made in a while. i've been burnt out and dissatisfied for a long time and it feels like such a huge weight off my chest.
for months, i've been slowly working with hobbies as well as commissions and side hustles to know i have other ways to get income while enjoying it way more than i do being under a toxic management. i haven't looked forward to life more than i do now in the time that i worked here and i am so excited for future opportunities, future projects, jobs i can take whether it's freelance or fulltime or anything else.
let's all look forward onto what's coming and walk our paths well. 💞

    Hi Simie,
I can't remember how I happened to discover your channel a few weeks ago, but you can not imagine how much this one resonates with my own experience.
I am a MD, working in a palliative care unit. This is an incredible human experience as it confronts me to death, fear and the deepest thoughts and feelings of my patients. It is also very hard to leave work at work when I come home to see my husband and my son.
What was on its path on a very insidious way happened, I got totally burned out and was out of work for more than 5 months. That's a lot of time to decompress from 45 hours work weeks, and that's also a lot of time to reflect on life in general, on happiness, on needs etc.
I began free writing in a very basic notebook about everything and nothing. Time helping, and looking back, I realized that I was missing what had been a huge part of my childhood : playing the piano and drawing / painting.
Slowly but surely, I traced my way out of my crazy working hours, keeping writing and reflecting on my goals and sources of happiness. Of corse, having no student loan (I am French) undoubtedly made my decision easier.
Today, I am working half time (and enjoys it much much more) and dedicate the rest of my time to creativity and spending time with my family.
I know lots of people didn't understand my decision (and still don't...), some probably criticized me, others may wonder why I gave up on half of my salary... Truth is happiness carries no price. My project is now to go help children in Sub-Saharan Africa (when, where, how... I don't know yet) while enjoying what's important to me.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Beyond being fun to watch, your videos are extremely clever and spiritual. They sure feel good in the crazy world we live in today. 👏👏👏

STOKED FOR YOU. As a person who found your channel a few months ago, I binged all your content in like 1 or 2 days. I started journaling mindfully because of you. I'm currently slow quitting and I didn't even realize it until I watched this video and I don't have anything else lined up. I just know my free time was more valuable than my job (and it's not worth how my job has been making me feel). Thank you for helping me come up with a journaling plan to figure out what's next. You are awesome and your content is so thoughtful and unique. You got this.

Recently, I also quit my job and I'm working on a new path.
I worked as a freelance translator and I was going from quite close to burn out while working to being desperate for having more commissions so I can have some stable income. Luckily, I didn't have anything like students loans (in Spain we can study for free with scholarships) and I could go back to study with a small course and now I'm preparing my exams so I can become a civil servant.
I find your videos very inspiring and I think that you are really honest in them. I hope that you can make your TH-cam dreams true and being happier with your life!
    Take care :)

Hi Simie, thank you so much for this video. I came across your TH-cam channel by chance very recently and am grateful for it. I am 60 and though I can already look back at some good -and also less good- life experience, there is always something new and valuable to learn around the corner. For me, it is BuJo which I did not know about until TH-cam's algorhythm brought me here. I have decided to give it a serious try because your content clearly shows that it is worth it. So thank you again! Keep doing what you are doing. One last thing: generally speaking, the elderly are in a position where they can transmit their "wisdom" to younger generations but you prove that it also goes the other way around...

Thanks so much Simie. I am a doctor who burnt out in the hospital. Then burnt out in primary care / general practice. My husband was asking me to leave my GP job at least a year before I finally broke and quit. What followed was a period of reevaluating my life and priorities, and it was a healing and exciting time. I've now gone and rushed headfirst into having four roles at once (clinical, teaching, research, administrative) which might see me crash and burn in a whole new way, but it's exciting and I like what I'm doing and I don't stake my sense of worth on it anymore, so if I have to drop something I won't feel like such a failure. Your video felt so relatable and soothing for me. I wish you all the best in whatever comes next

So inspiring and best of luck with your new journey. I, too, use journaling as a way of working my way through thoughts, life, the whole catastrophe. And when you talked about how those self-help gurus didn't look like you, amen to that. They don't represent me much either, so I feel like I'm in uncharted waters as well. Especially as a woman of a certain age, let's say, all of long term planning ideas can feel a little pointless, but that doesn't mean I'm finished. I want to live a life of meaning, just like anyone else. If you're on the path, you never stop evolving, learning, refining, becoming more and more aware of what is true and what matters. So glad for you that you come to this realization now! Wishing you so much fulfillment!

This is such a good video. A lot of videos I've seen that are of this genre and style don't actually provide any of the whys and hows the person came to their decision, it's vaguery they offer at best or generic positivity platitudes at worst. You provided the exercises you did, showed the comparisons, shared your doubts and growths and all of that really gives a better understanding of how to make a big life change. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being vulnerable. I've saved your video to look at some of the books and exercises closer. Thank you again and I wish you all the best, it's obvious you're working hard. Much success to you!

I lost my job recently, but it’s turned into such a blessing. I’m on a “slow termination” plan, so I’m still getting paid for a bit which is allowing me to do some traveling with my fiancé before we have to move back home. Your videos have helped me so much, I used journaling as a way to work through all of my feelings about this job and I came out knowing that this was the best thing that could’ve happened to me. I’m excited to see what you have for us next, keep up the good work!

You are the most helpful journaling vlogger I have in my subs. I only know about struthless and now Tim Ferris because of you. I feel such appreciation for you and your work that my stomach flipped at this title in fear. But sitting through this video I can see the long, thoughtful road that brought you here and understand now why you would make this decision. This last year my mother had a stroke and all the PT she has been through to recover and those involved in that were truly so inspiring and helpful to me, I cannot imagine that being my daily job and it not affecting me like you said. That little "what oh no!" Instinct at the title is gone, I am excited for you and excited to get home and try this fear exercise in my journal. Thank you!

I had a similar experience. I worked PT for animals. I wanted to work with animals, to help animals. But the thing is, you're only ever working with sick and hurt animals; once they are better, you don't see them. And it was really hard on my heart and mental health. I realized that I couldn't be around hurt animals all day every day. I had to transition to a different industry. It makes me sad not to help animals when I can, but expectation vs reality kicked my ass

It was great timing coming across this, I work as a Nurse Practitioner and struggled with similar issues you've mentioned and that many seem to experience working in healthcare. Last year I reduced my week to 32 hours but still wasn't happy so last month moved to doing locum work to be more selective about when and where I work and to use the downtime inbetween to look at other options - hadn't realised it until seeing your video but turns out I am also slowly quitting. I’m YT but I have subscribed as I feel you (female with a fuzzy pullover) have more in common with what I want to get from journalling than other content creators who feature journalling.
I follow most of the (male) TH-camrs that you do, and I have noticed that a lot of the female creators that get recommended to me are HEAVILY focused on aesthetic.
Like a full hour-long video going over pictures they drew, the live streams they did, the fancy pens that are £5 each … and the video still has ‘Bullet Journal’ as the title, not ‘Sketchbook’ or ‘scrapbooking’
I feel you and Ryder are both coming from the same place, with a focus on intentions. Stickers are a bonus ❤

This was amazing. I’m so glad the YT algorithm showed me one simple video that led me to binge watch your channel and now regularly stay up to date. I love this idea of slow quitting. I’ve, naturally, have experienced similar things over the past few years of leaving bedside nursing and now wanting to maybe, leave the profession all together. Not there yet, but working there. I definitely need to incorporate journaling more into my daily life to help me realize what I actually want to do. I have an idea, but I know journaling will help with any fears and doubts. Congrats on this new chapter for you! 🥳

two years ago, i rage-quitted my job after i had felt taken for granted, not paid enough, and not listened to.
i was in the middle of a burnout, and decided to dive heads down into my art career. it went ok at first, but could never make enough to sustain myself, and slowly it became harder and harder to make art for myself.
my skills have increased, but every piece i put out is a pain and not a pleasure to make.
this video made me realize i probably am not alone in my mistakes, so much that actually someone wrote a book about it!
thank you for putting this out, it’s been illuminating, and i wish you and everyone the best.

Simie, thank you for this wonderfully honest, inspiring video. I am so excited for you going on this journey of pursing your goals and passions! I quit my part time job almost exactly three years ago to pursue a full time career in photography - it was my literal dream since childhood, and it’s certainly been full of ups and downs. but I’m so thankful I did it even when I was scared. my mom has always encouraged me to go after the next thing.. “do it scared.” I’ve done so many things “scared” and I’m so glad I did it!
I’m excited to see where this new season for you takes you. I’ve been watching your channel since the end of last year and your videos on journaling and personal growth came at the perfect time. I just took a personal growth class and I’m so happy to be back into journaling because of you.

Simieee, we are so proud of you ❤ not everyone has the courage to follow what is truly aligned with their souls, it isn’t an easy choice. I’m really surprised about the topic of your video bc I’m evaluating too what the hell I’m doing now and why it doesn’t totally resonate with me and your video feels like a sing. Shook. Send you a lot of hugs from Perú!

Thank you Simie. I'm so glad I found you in this wide web of content. You have a positive effect on my life, just after a few months of following you. It's your videos, but also the e-mails - both I look forward of seeing/getting. They make my day. And last but not least, I joined Skillshare because of you, which opened even more positive energy. Thank you! I wish you the best of luck for your further journey :)

I quit a six figure (on the lowest end) job because I kept seeing in my journals how miserable I was. Unfortunately the next job wasn’t any better and had to go back. Then, I quit it a second time. Same issue. The grass wasn’t greener at this company either. My company took me back a third time. 😂 so listen when I quit again it’s because I’ve figured out exactly what I want to do - hoping the 2025 journal helps provide some clarity

In the video, you asked for the viewers to write one thing they are grateful for; I am grateful for this channel. I have binge watched your videos multiple times. You have inspired me to start a bullet journal (been using a planner for 7 years now). I wish you much success and happiness on your new journey. Have you considered starting a second channel focusing on PT? I have watched videos by Bob and Brad (PTs). You could combine your two passions. Just a thought. Oh, I signed up for your newsletter, too. 😊

A physiotherapist here myself and I get you when you talk about the burn out. I had a massive one last year, this year cut down on the hours. So proud of you for having the courage to take this step. Good luck.
Also, I love your content but one of the other reason I subscribed was also because you are a fellow physio. I don't know why but I feel like I'll miss you 😁. Not that I am unsubscribing... I think you get it.

I quit my job 15 years ago. I still show up and trudge through the day to get the paycheck though. I deeply envy the strength, strategy, and bravery you are putting out there to get clear of the trudge early in your life. So inspirational, friend! I'm a fan forevah. 😊 Grateful for you! Unrelated: What's that belt you're wearing in the workout clip?

When you showed the list of self-development people, I genuinely never noticed that they were all male and mostly white.. Lol, obviously I didn't notice that - it's my own demographic! Absolutely yes, we need voices like yours in the world! Keep up the great work.

That was a wonderful video, all the best for your journey❤ i really enjoy your content a lot. I somehow have a hard time with journaling even if i can see the potential of it. I journal on a question i have and write down my thoughts but then i do not act on them. Its like i forget about it. Do you have a process to turn journaling into taking action on what you journaled on?
