    I've watched similar videos and i'm not convinced the result is good enough to do the same to my W800.

    This doesn't work on the 2019+ bikes. The design has changed.

    Will doing this void the warranty? It does bring some major difference in the end after removing the db killer! Thanks

      @Korsfestelse 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Juan Louis I'd imagine it would void your warranty, so maybe wait until that runs out before modifying the exhaust. Best bet is to speak to the dealership though! And as for any difference I doubt it'd change the power, but it certainly makes a difference in the noise/tone!

    Has anyone done this with a pre-2016 Triumph Bonneville muffler?

    Anyone know if this will work on a 2019 w800? Mufflers appear to be the exact same.

      @@acdg7431 I just received my 2019 w800 and the exhaust is pretty good for stock 👍😎

      @@FRANK-cents I agree Frank, and it would be expensive to undo as the mufflers are welded on.

      Not the same, but almost similair removal. You also need a recicoper saw.

    Engineers figured the back pressure and many other reasons they constructed the exhaust as stock,,,DUh? leave it stock

    • @davidbrayshaw3529
      @davidbrayshaw3529 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Back pressure is a bit of myth, in four stroke engines. Have a look at the pipes on a Gypsy moth engine or a Merlin V12. Exhaust velocity can influence fuel economy and potentially emissions, but this is all happening a long way upstream from the silencer. Presuming that the headers are well specified, and the crossover is intact, there's no reason why this modification should cause any loss of power or reliability issues at all. It's a very different matter altogether again when talking about two strokes, though. That's where back pressure (actually, reflected pressure pulses) really matters, and it's probably where this idea of "back pressure" originates from. This exhaust modification might even flow a bit better and reduce pumping losses, although probably not by much and we'd have to test the results to know. A key concern for engineers in designing exhaust systems is sound attenuation.
      That's the most likely reason that they have used this baffle system, not performance.

    I don't think this removes a db killer. Just an end plate and a short pipe. No improvement for anything. Tappet noise gets more apparent on bikes in general and the result is a lot of damage. Toy stores sell these "engines" for bicycles. Now one does not have to go broem broem with the lips.
