Received this as my chosen scent from Scentbox. After wearing for 2 weeks I ended up buying a full bottle because I like it so much. I get tons of compliments and people asking what I'm wearing. I like it a lot because after putting it on, it's not something I smell the rest of the day on myself. I can smell it when I smell my wrist but it's not nauseating. A win for me.
Excellent review!! I actually just discovered this a few weeks ago and I instantly fell in love. I'm not a Guerlain girl, but Mon guerlain has become a fav! I agree, it's all vanilla and lavender. It's kinda sweet with a fresh spiciness to it.
My fave. It dries down to a very soft, feminine and romatic ... I'd like to see a review of when you have worn it all day and into the evening. This review is not enough. Just a whiff of the initial top note.
I own both the original and their newest Florale version and I can say the last one is waaay better. Wasser removed that sickly tonka note turning Florale into a much more enjoyable and well rounded scent. It's so pleasant and less sweet in comparison to its older brother... I find it chic and long lasting. Huge love for me 💕
This is a great perfume .It has something unique but is not completely different from the other perfumes .I like the lavender in it because it's not too strong but it provides a sexy and feminine touch. NOT TRASHY sexy though. But if you hate lavender don't try it.!!!
Almost every TH-camr I watch raves about Mon Guerlain, so I blind bought a sample from Fragrancenet, and I was disappointed with the scent. To my nose it was okay at best, nothing special. I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money on a full bottle of it. BTW, I love your reviews!
I totally agree with your opinion on this fragrance. I tested it on a blotter 2 weeks ago in a store because the sales lady was really excited to represent their newest addition to their Guerlain shelf! I was like, meh! The smell felt like encountering a boneless characterless apologetic girl! I didn't even keep the blotter! Also, the strength and sillage seemed really bad. I haven't checked the notes and I was surprised to hear about the lavender. I like lavender and I'm pretty sure I know the smell since I've been drinking lavender tea for some months now. Yes! I smelled this earlier and over time I was thinking it was masculine and border line cologne. I agree, I didn't smell jasmine either. I just got tonka, lavender and something masculine.
I have a large bottle and it is gorgeous ! I am already half way through after a month . I wanted it to be my signature but I sometimes struggle with the lasting power . I use the body lotion wth it .

I just could not agree with you more.I personally expected more from this fragrance.Guerlain is such a classic French brand.To me this fragrance lacks personality.It is also very unisex .Guerlain says Angelina Jolie inspired this fragrance.Maybe she actually wears this I heard she favors male scents like Bvlgari Black and Carolina Herrera male scent.That said I do have a renewed interest in Guerlain was recently given La Petite Robe Noir as a gift.I am planning on buying some Guerlain fragrances and I plan to collect their fragrances. I plan to buy this eventually just to add to the collection.Great review.
They do. It's still a lovely fragrance, I just expect more from Guerlain. It's all personal of course. :) They still make gorgeous fragrances, i just like the older stuff....something has changed. :)
I purchased this a few months ago EDT I found on clearance for $20 and figured why not? I opened it and loved the bottle and pretty pink juice. I sprayed it on the top of my hand and thought OK. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. I decided to wear it one night out and after a few hours the smell became intoxicating. Not only me but everyone around me. I fell in love and purchased the EDP it's my new favorite and would even go as far as put it in my top 3. Chloe love, Citizen Queen, and Mon Guerlain.
When I smelled this it reminded me of Jessica Simpsons Fancy. I find it to be very sweet but pleasant. I agree with you, the perfume is nice but it is not jaw dropping. This is the kind of fragrance that I feel comfortable gifting to someone because it is very inoffensive.
I so looked forward to having this especially for the lavender - but I'm disappointed that all I can smell is vanilla - blind bought - shame on me lol Love your reviews!
Four years since your review. Every time I have a yearning for Mon Guerlain I have the same "MEH" reaction. I've tried it twice. I read reviews and watch your video and they help me remember that it's just not a memorable Guerlain scent. I love Guerlain and have a lot of them in my collection. But there's something about this one (and it's flankers) that I cannot pull the trigger on. Guerlain has so many better vanillas. Go figure.
I liked this one, but i think it could be so much better. Lavender and vanilla/ tonka would be great, if i could smell more of it.Mon guerlain is just a well made version of fashionable cheap perfumes. Its really nice thou:)
Thank you for the review. A lot of perfume lovers agree with your take on this fragrance. I have not smelt Mon Guerlain. I instinctively felt it was not going to be a composition I would find very pleasing, unfortunately. However, a house must endeavour to be relevant to newer generations. I cannot blame Guerlain for doing this even though I would have loved another masterpiece such as L'Heure Bleue, Shalimar, Mitsouko, Samsara, and Mahora which I believe is also brilliant. What I would like to know is if you intend to review Guerlain's wonderful Habit Rouge and/or Vetiver ever? Both are from their back catalog. I am unfamiliar with the latter, but Habit Rouge is a beautiful, woody aromatic that is very unisex in my opinion. I love the rose note in it. I hope you will consider reviewing Habit Rouge in its vintage composition and perhaps Vetiver, too. After all, the legendary J-P Guerlain composed them both. :)
I would love to review Habit rouge, I only ever smelled it once and was immediately reminded of shalimar, like a more masculine shalimar kinda? Need to be reminded again though. I love the Guerlain classics!
@@ouch110 No, it is not similar to Shalimar in my opinion. I find it very unisex, too. Habit Rouge (my bottle was purchased new 5-7 years ago) is more of a woody aromatic. It is lovely. Reviewer Fumerie Hilaire posted an excellent review of it a few years ago, but I do not see it now. If you find it, it is well worth screening.
I gotta brag because I'm from here; but Sequim's, WA (USA) lavender ranked higher than France's (any region). So cool! Also, our peppermint from Yakima is the world's finest. So proud of my state
@@ouch110 I couldn't believe it honestly! But it is extremely good. Sequim is in rain shadow, and is an arid area amidst a temperate rainforest. That combined with whatever is in the soil must really produce something magical. We have a lot of lavender farms here, and many of the random gardens and curb decor is peppered with lavender plants. It's quite literally everywhere :)
More for the masses type of Guerlain, alright. That's why I did not really get too excited. It is not what I expect from the House of Guerlain, you are right on the money on that, Thom. I am amazed how you have expressed my exact sentiment on this one.
I was able to get a good size sample of this and I agree it's not so special especially from guerlain where 1 expects extraordinary. Very sweet but when I wear it the people around me get vanilla and it only lasts about 3 hours on my skin but then again not much lasts long. Would I purchase a full size bottle, naw I already have a couple sweet vanilla fragrances and this was not making me say I need this. Nice honest review sweety, keep it up. 🌸
Hello, Tahitensis vanilla is not actually tonka bean. They are two different beans but similar in creamy sweetness. Tonka is where coumarin is derived from. Cheers :)
I AM SOOOOOO IN LOVE WITH THIS FRAGRANCE, I SMELL A CANDIED ORANGE/CITRUS AND CANDIED LAVENDER AND JASMINE WITH THE TONKA ON THE RND, SWEET AND DELICIOUS😍😍😍😍😍 I don't get any mask on I get girly girly feminine and sweet and candied, maybe is my skin
It's a lovely one for sure, I just think in the grand scheme of what Guerlain can do? It fell a bit short. They are moving into more easily likeable fragrances now. :)
I bought a sample first coz I’ve blind bought too many hyped perfumes that TH-cam reviewers say it’s just so good and it ends up being a boring weak basic floral. As this one is. I trust you tho. You’ve never let me down. I guess the women who love this one really have not smelt many perfumes coz I’ve smelt over a thousand perfumes maybe more and own about 500. So I’ve smelt the very best, from $4,000 a bottle to $25 a bottle. And everywhere in between so if I tell u this mon Guerlain is CRAP you can believe me. I’ll keep the 5ml sample and use it to perfume guest room sheets and drapes. It’s weak enough not to bother anyone.
As a guy who hasn't ever purchased a perfume marketed towards women (although most my fragrances are niche-unisex), this was the first "female" fragrance I've ever purchased (and the first designer perfume this year/ in a while). I totally agree there is a masculine edge to it, but its blended with lavender in a way no traditional mens fragrance ever has which drew me to it. I also don't think it's very stand outish, but maybe that's what drew me to it, it's a nice, sweet, floral, albeit semi-masculine, safe fragrance-and we all need a few safe fragrances.
Hello! :) Thanks for your comment. I think it's kinda cool, but coming from a house such as Guerlain, it's mediocre. That's what they were going for though so. I think it fits what they were trying to do. There are just SO many other Guerlain fragrances that way surpass this one. Pineapple Upside down cake? Hehe how cool! I'll have to try it again properly.
On my skin it smells very similar to Vera Wang Princess 😁 I would put it in the same category...but I still love the smell, nothing groundbreaking but I like the fact I dont have to think about where/when I am going to wear this...I sometimes need this kind of fragrance, inoffensive and pretty.

I even checked out 'Samsara'. It reminds of the arabian women dressed in abhaya, with heavy khol-lined eyes. For anyone who has lived in the middle-east, you might know what am talking about. An expensive evening perfume for mature women.
Yep, to me it's the smell of far away places and mystery. I appreciate for the fact it's made by a super French house in the 80's when that wasn't the trend at all! It still remains magical to me to this day. :)
I was really looking forward to this review from you. Thank you for your honesty! I've been travelling a lot in the past three weeks and I feel like this perfume has been chasing me through every airport... I tried it three times and each time I thought, "What am I missing?" And boy, are those ladies in duty-free pushing it. A woman in Moscow even sprayed it onto a folding fan and wafted it over me, insisting it was the greatest thing ever. (Seriously, she had the full line of L'Art et la Matière there, as well as all the classics.) I get the lavender at the open, which fades pretty fast, but then after that it's just "meh". What's really annoying is the dry down, which is so sweet and sticky that the pregnant woman I was travelling with insisted I scrub myself before I got on the plane because she couldn't stand sitting next to me. It's not that it's so much bad, as disappointing. I realized, later, that it smells a bit like Noir Tease from Victoria's Secret, which means it smells like a ton of stuff out there that shouldn't be expensive or carry the glorious Guerlain name.

I think it's pleasant, and I really like tonka...I just think it's not special enough. But it fits what they were going for so..I guess I can't complain. Yes, it was definitely her pregnancy hormones that made her nose so sensitive, and for some reason, they were particularly partial to something in Mon Guerlain! Maybe the baby is more Dior that Guerlinade... ;) I did read a good argument online saying that if Mon Guerlain is really popular, especially with younger audiences, that it would help to keep the production of some of the older classics going. That would be a good thing, indeed.
Yeah, seems unfortunate that so many Houses have become intent on an overall grand appeal. What's that saying, attempt to please everyone, end up pleasing no one? ... something like that. I have a mini coming, if sephora decide to put it in the box (they've been sending me missing item orders, the thieving buggers! :/ ) so I'll be happy enough to have a small amount. Guerlain are becoming very mainstream I think which is a shame because of course, they have some of the greatest frgrances ever made under their belt. I still get excited about their new releases though. hehe.

Long time no comment. How's everything been? ^_^ I loooove lavender, it's my favorite note. My dad had a lavender plant when I was a kid and I used to tear off handfuls of it and rub it in my hair and on my arms. Poor plant v__v Now I can wear it in my perfumes though! And in my soap, shampoo, conditioner, put satchets of it in my drawers, hug a lavender-stuffed pillow... Etc. I agree that Mon Guerlain smells common. Its vanilla is similar to the one in SDV though (a bit more powdery), so it smells pretty high quality for the price. Also choosing AnJo as the face of this fragrance was curious. Imo she doesn't really fit with its aura.

The u and the i are silent. Geer-laan ... easy with a bit of practice😉. It is a quiet masterpiece, the bottle is so pretty and Angelina Jolie as the testimonial is (photoshopped) gorgeous ... this fragrance will stand the test of time and I think it is very unisex ... Love this one 😍
*Cookies* love cookie monster. My favorite from Guerlain is Tonka Imperial . I did just pick up Guerlain's Homme Intense from yours truly Notino. I love it .Little strong in the opening , but the way it smells the next day on my coat, whoa. I hate those type of samplers. They went with Angelina ,so, like you said .Made for the masses . I love jasmine too.
Haha it's supposed to be "Animal" from the Muppets. :) I haven't smelled the Homme Intense I don't think. :( I've passed it by SO many times and always smelled Habit Rouge instead.
It doesn't smell masculine at all!!! It's just the first impression with the lavender, but the balance of notes is gorgeous, fresh, sweet, invigorating and relaxing at the sane time It's a good release taking into account the designer fragrances that are being released these last years
I also thought so, but apparently there was a super emotional reason behind why she did it. To honour her deceased mother, who loved Guerlain. At least, thats what the SA told me.
If it was to honour her mother, it's even more of a shame that they, apparently, didn't bother to produce a more convincing fragrance. I'm no fragrance expert, but even I know that none of those ingredients are naturally pink, or red. Also, unless a perfume is made from exclusively natural and very rare materials, I really don't see the excuse for only using 4 notes? Sticking film stars on promotional material should not be considered enough to sell a fragrance. They should still work on the fragrances properly and make them, at least, seem genuine and well crafted.
It's a "safe" perfume., whereas I like my perfumes to be a little less safe, lol. All I smell is a lot of smooth sweet, marshmallow-y vanilla. absolutely no lavender. Heck, even smell patchouli. And there is a slight boozy smell in the distance. I think that's where the masculine part of it is. It does remind me of a lot of other frags. Not on my top ten.
Oh man, I wish I didn't smell the jasmine, it's what ruins the fragrance for me. My nose picks it up and then hones in until I get a bit woozy, kind of like what happens with Alien. Strange because I'm fine with jasmine in some fragrances, but not this one. :( I'll try it again in colder weather, perhaps that'll help. I think a lot of people are disappointed in this one! Thierry Wasser said he was gunning for the version with iris in it during some interview, apparently they just polled the most popular compositions over and over to find the one with the most mass appeal (the one without iris won out), which is where it lost its magic imo...
Oh wow really? I literally cannot smell it at ALL! I honestly think having Iris in this might have made it more Guerlain-ey" as I said. It would have given it a bit more of a spark of vintage. But hey..who am I to say? haha.
I knew from the first time I heard of this fragrance that it would be a pass for me...I don't care much for fragrances that tend to have mass appeal these days because they are all basically the same and very boring. Even though Guerlain have jumped on the generic band wagon (didn't start with this fragrance, they've been on it for a while now...they have to make 💰 too) they are still my favorite fragrance house due to the legendary fragrances that have come from them.
I don't like lavender in perfume, so this sounds pretty unpleasant and way too simplistic, to me. Pretty bottle and pink juice - but, even the latter looks totally the wrong colour for the listed notes. Makes it seem very inauthentic.
I think that the lavender isn't SUPER pronounced though. I mean, some people say it is but like I said in the review, It doesn't scream lavender to me like..harsh herbal lavender. It's still a pretty fragrance but Guerlain have done MUCH better. :)
Please do a review for YSL Libre, the new scent! :) I feel it is quite similar to this one. I'd love to know what you think, whether you find it more or less interesting? Pretty please!!! :)

MsPomeranianlover I have both scents. I don’t think they smell alike at all but I’m not expert. Thing is I can totally smell the lavender in libre but not in mon guerlain. Maybe my nose isn’t talented lol. I think if you like lavender it’s way more pronounced in libre...

At last, found some people who share my opinion of this fragrance. I really can’t understand all the hype, it’s dreadful, and I hate the dry down - the vanilla stays with you all day. I just don’t get the connection of Ange with lavender and vanilla. If I wanted to smell like a warm baked cookie for the rest of the day, I would fare better with a Yankee candle in my pocket. Guerlain, you are worthy of so much better than this!!!!
This fragrance didn't mix well with my natural composition. It was very strong with an annoying overpowering scent which I'm guessing could be Tonka. I couldn't smell lavender or any of the other notes. The heaviness of this scent reminded me of "taboo" from the 80s which makes me gag just thinking of it.
That moment when I spayed on a sample of Mon Guerlain on my arm and thought, "What kind of fresh gourmand hell is this?!?!" and hoped it was a joke. Give me back my white, elegant florals in place of this teeny bopper, common ridiculousness. Listen, I get it. Guerlain has to keep the money coming in in order to fund Jicky, Shalimar and the rest of the high-class stable. But oh lord, save me from this fragrance.

Unfortunately Florale has been discontinued, but you can still get it on the market. I’ve got a backup bottle.

It changes over time. The dry down on me is reminiscent of Angel.
On me, it reminds me of La Vie est Belle, but without all the patchouli. So, I actually like Mon Guerlain better for that reason.

Some people are saying it lasts very well and others not. I think it's a lovely scent but, it's very simple and sweet. Tonka is lovely!

Guerlain are kinda going in that direction as a whole, the classic elegance and complexity is disappearing sadly. :(

What I would like to know is if you intend to review Guerlain's wonderful Habit Rouge and/or Vetiver ever? Both are from their back catalog. I am unfamiliar with the latter, but Habit Rouge is a beautiful, woody aromatic that is very unisex in my opinion. I love the rose note in it. I hope you will consider reviewing Habit Rouge in its vintage composition and perhaps Vetiver, too. After all, the legendary J-P Guerlain composed them both. :)
I would love to review Habit rouge, I only ever smelled it once and was immediately reminded of shalimar, like a more masculine shalimar kinda? Need to be reminded again though. I love the Guerlain classics!
@@ouch110 No, it is not similar to Shalimar in my opinion. I find it very unisex, too. Habit Rouge (my bottle was purchased new 5-7 years ago) is more of a woody aromatic. It is lovely. Reviewer Fumerie Hilaire posted an excellent review of it a few years ago, but I do not see it now. If you find it, it is well worth screening.
I gotta brag because I'm from here; but Sequim's, WA (USA) lavender ranked higher than France's (any region). So cool! Also, our peppermint from Yakima is the world's finest. So proud of my state
I so need to smell that lavender now haha. French lavender gets all the praise.
@@ouch110 I couldn't believe it honestly! But it is extremely good. Sequim is in rain shadow, and is an arid area amidst a temperate rainforest. That combined with whatever is in the soil must really produce something magical. We have a lot of lavender farms here, and many of the random gardens and curb decor is peppered with lavender plants. It's quite literally everywhere :)
More for the masses type of Guerlain, alright.

I was able to get a good size sample of this and I agree it's not so special especially from guerlain where 1 expects extraordinary. Very sweet but when I wear it the people around me get vanilla and it only lasts about 3 hours on my skin but then again not much lasts long. Would I purchase a full size bottle, naw I already have a couple sweet vanilla fragrances and this was not making me say I need this. Nice honest review sweety, keep it up. 🌸

Hello, Tahitensis vanilla is not actually tonka bean. They are two different beans but similar in creamy sweetness. Tonka is where coumarin is derived from. Cheers :)
I AM SOOOOOO IN LOVE WITH THIS FRAGRANCE, I SMELL A CANDIED ORANGE/CITRUS AND CANDIED LAVENDER AND JASMINE WITH THE TONKA ON THE RND, SWEET AND DELICIOUS😍😍😍😍😍 I don't get any mask on I get girly girly feminine and sweet and candied, maybe is my skin
It's a lovely one for sure, I just think in the grand scheme of what Guerlain can do? It fell a bit short. They are moving into more easily likeable fragrances now. :)
I bought a sample first coz I’ve blind bought too many hyped perfumes that TH-cam reviewers say it’s just so good and it ends up being a boring weak basic floral. As this one is. I trust you tho. You’ve never let me down.
I guess the women who love this one really have not smelt many perfumes coz I’ve smelt over a thousand perfumes maybe more and own about 500. So I’ve smelt the very best, from $4,000 a bottle to $25 a bottle. And everywhere in between so if I tell u this mon Guerlain is CRAP you can believe me. I’ll keep the 5ml sample and use it to perfume guest room sheets and drapes. It’s weak enough not to bother anyone.
As a guy who hasn't ever purchased a perfume marketed towards women (although most my fragrances are niche-unisex), this was the first "female" fragrance I've ever purchased (and the first designer perfume this year/ in a while). I totally agree there is a masculine edge to it, but its blended with lavender in a way no traditional mens fragrance ever has which drew me to it. I also don't think it's very stand outish, but maybe that's what drew me to it, it's a nice, sweet, floral, albeit semi-masculine, safe fragrance-and we all need a few safe fragrances.
as an aside, give it a little longer on your skin and it gets a hint of pineapple upside down cake
Hello! :) Thanks for your comment. I think it's kinda cool, but coming from a house such as Guerlain, it's mediocre. That's what they were going for though so. I think it fits what they were trying to do. There are just SO many other Guerlain fragrances that way surpass this one. Pineapple Upside down cake? Hehe how cool! I'll have to try it again properly.
It’s crap. Not up to Guerlain standards. Weak boring skin scent. I’m glad I only bought a $20 five ml decant. It’s not even worth that much.
On my skin it smells very similar to Vera Wang Princess 😁 I would put it in the same category...but I still love the smell, nothing groundbreaking but I like the fact I dont have to think about where/when I am going to wear this...I sometimes need this kind of fragrance, inoffensive and pretty.
I really want this one, I have the other Mon Guerlain (discontinued sadly) and the lavender, vanilla combination is amazing, it helps relax my anxiety

I even checked out 'Samsara'. It reminds of the arabian women dressed in abhaya, with heavy khol-lined eyes. For anyone who has lived in the middle-east, you might know what am talking about. An expensive evening perfume for mature women.
Yep, to me it's the smell of far away places and mystery. I appreciate for the fact it's made by a super French house in the 80's when that wasn't the trend at all! It still remains magical to me to this day. :)

I was really looking forward to this review from you. Thank you for your honesty! I've been travelling a lot in the past three weeks and I feel like this perfume has been chasing me through every airport... I tried it three times and each time I thought, "What am I missing?" And boy, are those ladies in duty-free pushing it. A woman in Moscow even sprayed it onto a folding fan and wafted it over me, insisting it was the greatest thing ever. (Seriously, she had the full line of L'Art et la Matière there, as well as all the classics.) I get the lavender at the open, which fades pretty fast, but then after that it's just "meh". What's really annoying is the dry down, which is so sweet and sticky that the pregnant woman I was travelling with insisted I scrub myself before I got on the plane because she couldn't stand sitting next to me. It's not that it's so much bad, as disappointing. I realized, later, that it smells a bit like Noir Tease from Victoria's Secret, which means it smells like a ton of stuff out there that shouldn't be expensive or carry the glorious Guerlain name.

I think it's pleasant, and I really like tonka...I just think it's not special enough. But it fits what they were going for so..I guess I can't complain. Yes, it was definitely her pregnancy hormones that made her nose so sensitive, and for some reason, they were particularly partial to something in Mon Guerlain! Maybe the baby is more Dior that Guerlinade... ;) I did read a good argument online saying that if Mon Guerlain is really popular, especially with younger audiences, that it would help to keep the production of some of the older classics going. That would be a good thing, indeed.

Yeah, seems unfortunate that so many Houses have become intent on an overall grand appeal. What's that saying, attempt to please everyone, end up pleasing no one? ... something like that. I have a mini coming, if sephora decide to put it in the box (they've been sending me missing item orders, the thieving buggers! :/ ) so I'll be happy enough to have a small amount. Guerlain are becoming very mainstream I think which is a shame because of course, they have some of the greatest frgrances ever made under their belt. I still get excited about their new releases though. hehe.

Long time no comment. How's everything been? ^_^ I loooove lavender, it's my favorite note. My dad had a lavender plant when I was a kid and I used to tear off handfuls of it and rub it in my hair and on my arms. Poor plant v__v Now I can wear it in my perfumes though! And in my soap, shampoo, conditioner, put satchets of it in my drawers, hug a lavender-stuffed pillow... Etc. I agree that Mon Guerlain smells common. Its vanilla is similar to the one in SDV though (a bit more powdery), so it smells pretty high quality for the price. Also choosing AnJo as the face of this fragrance was curious. Imo she doesn't really fit with its aura.

The u and the i are silent. Geer-laan ... easy with a bit of practice😉. It is a quiet masterpiece, the bottle is so pretty and Angelina Jolie as the testimonial is (photoshopped) gorgeous ... this fragrance will stand the test of time and I think it is very unisex ... Love this one 😍

I love it .Little strong in the opening , but the way it smells the next day on my coat, whoa.
I hate those type of samplers.

It doesn't smell masculine at all!!! It's just the first impression with the lavender, but the balance of notes is gorgeous, fresh, sweet, invigorating and relaxing at the sane time It's a good release taking into account the designer fragrances that are being released these last years

I also thought so, but apparently there was a super emotional reason behind why she did it. To honour her deceased mother, who loved Guerlain. At least, thats what the SA told me.
If it was to honour her mother, it's even more of a shame that they, apparently, didn't bother to produce a more convincing fragrance.
I'm no fragrance expert, but even I know that none of those ingredients are naturally pink, or red.
Also, unless a perfume is made from exclusively natural and very rare materials, I really don't see the excuse for only using 4 notes?
Sticking film stars on promotional material should not be considered enough to sell a fragrance.
They should still work on the fragrances properly and make them, at least, seem genuine and well crafted.
It's a "safe" perfume., whereas I like my perfumes to be a little less safe, lol.
All I smell is a lot of smooth sweet, marshmallow-y vanilla. absolutely no lavender.
Heck, even smell patchouli. And there is a slight boozy smell in the distance. I think that's where the masculine part of it is.
It does remind me of a lot of other frags. Not on my top ten.
The ingredient combination of this perfume sounds good. I find Samsara way too forceful.

Oh man, I wish I didn't smell the jasmine, it's what ruins the fragrance for me. My nose picks it up and then hones in until I get a bit woozy, kind of like what happens with Alien. Strange because I'm fine with jasmine in some fragrances, but not this one. :( I'll try it again in colder weather, perhaps that'll help. I think a lot of people are disappointed in this one! Thierry Wasser said he was gunning for the version with iris in it during some interview, apparently they just polled the most popular compositions over and over to find the one with the most mass appeal (the one without iris won out), which is where it lost its magic imo...
Oh wow really? I literally cannot smell it at ALL! I honestly think having Iris in this might have made it more Guerlain-ey" as I said. It would have given it a bit more of a spark of vintage. But hey..who am I to say? haha.
I knew from the first time I heard of this fragrance that it would be a pass for me...I don't care much for fragrances that tend to have mass appeal these days because they are all basically the same and very boring. Even though Guerlain have jumped on the generic band wagon (didn't start with this fragrance, they've been on it for a while now...they have to make 💰 too) they are still my favorite fragrance house due to the legendary fragrances that have come from them.
That's exactly how I feel about it! :) I think Petit Robe Noire while nice is another mass market appeal one. :( I still love them though
I don't like lavender in perfume, so this sounds pretty unpleasant and way too simplistic, to me.
Pretty bottle and pink juice - but, even the latter looks totally the wrong colour for the listed notes.
Makes it seem very inauthentic.
I think that the lavender isn't SUPER pronounced though. I mean, some people say it is but like I said in the review, It doesn't scream lavender to me like..harsh herbal lavender. It's still a pretty fragrance but Guerlain have done MUCH better. :)

At last, found some people who share my opinion of this fragrance. I really can’t understand all the hype, it’s dreadful, and I hate the dry down - the vanilla stays with you all day. I just don’t get the connection of Ange with lavender and vanilla. If I wanted to smell like a warm baked cookie for the rest of the day, I would fare better with a Yankee candle in my pocket. Guerlain, you are worthy of so much better than this!!!!

Love the parfum. The lavender is unique.
This fragrance didn't mix well with my natural composition. It was very strong with an annoying overpowering scent which I'm guessing could be Tonka. I couldn't smell lavender or any of the other notes. The heaviness of this scent reminded me of "taboo" from the 80s which makes me gag just thinking of it.
I got the same vibe either..Tried to love it ( because I do love Manifesto,Hypnose etc...) but unfortunately can’t resist

That moment when I spayed on a sample of Mon Guerlain on my arm and thought, "What kind of fresh gourmand hell is this?!?!" and hoped it was a joke. Give me back my white, elegant florals in place of this teeny bopper, common ridiculousness. Listen, I get it. Guerlain has to keep the money coming in in order to fund Jicky, Shalimar and the rest of the high-class stable. But oh lord, save me from this fragrance.
