caco cemented his legacy as the most reliable car reviewer here in the PH. We would love to see caco's daily life doing errands etc using this vehicle!
Daily life of Caco please!
Hoping 🤞
Daily life of Jack as well would be fun haha
Yes pls. Daily life of Caco and Jack!
Caco did an errand for his boss to buy vegetables from i think banaue? Haha that was epic with the gs4
I like the multiple quick comparisons to other vehicles scattered throughout the video.
You're right that the SRP is a bit of deal breaker, but if you would check Subaru dealers, they are selling these at 300k discounts. I'm not sure if Subaru's pricing technic is effective, but I think they better off to just state the real SRP rather than overpricing the cars and giving a hefty discounts. Three months ago I acquired the Subaru XV that was also discounted for 300k. I was intending to buy the NexGen Territory at that time but had the opportunity to test drive both the Subaru XV and Territory during the MIAS car show. I test drove the Subaru XV just out of curiosity but had no plans of getting it at the price point of almost 2M. I was really impressed that it really blew away the new Ford Territory in terms of drive feel - you can tell that you are driving a more premium car when driving the Subaru XV compared to the Ford Territory. Then the salesrep told me that the XV is discounted by 300k since the new Crosstrek is coming out in a few months - with a 300k discount the XV was less than 20k more expensive than the Territory Titanium X, hence I ended up buying the Subaru XV.
I think that potential customers of Subaru who are not familiar with the brand are not even considering them because of the very high SRP's. Not unless you engaged with their sales and test drive the car would you know its tru worth. As I've mentioned earlier, it's best to advertise the true SRP because some people start their buying journey by looking at the cars available at their budget range.
Agree with the handling! We're owner of an old XV. Subaru's AWD is superb. Whenever I drive a different car, I can't help but notice the difference in handling.
Edit: I forgot to mention the boxer engine that contributes with better handling.
As a sales rep of Subaru, I approve this comment.
Layo ng teritory sa xv / crosstek presyo palang. Tyka china rebrand yan
The XV is awesome, I have a 2018 one and take it on long drives thrice a week. Imagine tho if it had the same engine as the WRX, extra 120 HP would make it an absolute blast
@@jayson-7577Yup the low center of gravity of that Boxer makes all the difference. And w/ the 2024 Crosstrek having the same steering and suspension components of the WRX its handling is even more improved.
After watching this review, I've made my mind up about getting the CX-60. Tnx a lot Caco & the Autodeal Team. Keep it up. You're the best ☝️🎖️👋
another great review! love the new fisheye/360 angle!
A fantastic video as usual, I just find the CrossTrek stance a bit weird, kinda like a lean Sumo Squatting stance. In a separate video, could you expand a bit more about the Subaru cvt bite, when compared to other cvt models? I felt that point was very interesting.
My 2023 Outback XT was recently rear ended. The wifey wanted something smaller and better on gas. We picked up a 2024 Crosstrek Limited with the 2.5 engine that's offered here in the states. More power and gas mileage is almost the same as the 2.0. The trunk is a little bit smaller than the previous generation. Not sure how they do pricing there but It's actually cheaper here in the US even with the 2.5 engine.
Tax + exchanged rate
This is a great episode. More subaru review please.
I just got my 1st subaru crosstrek ,i love it alpine green wilderness
I love how Caco is trying to be nicer here given despite his random criticisms, he still made sure the new Crosstrek won't look as bad as it really is(e.g. not mentioning that it still lacks a power tailgate, at a time when he is literally underneath it!) even if he already had his chances. Overall, a splendid review with a not-so-splendid crossover.
Subaru, just put the damn old FA16 Levorg engine in this. Pretty sure you still have it in your parts bin, and give it more appropriate tech like a digital meter cluster and a not-too-full size infotainment with physical buttons esp for the climate control. This would be more solid and sound at its current pricepoint given the improvements I and Caco have mentioned.
The previous gen xv has a smaller screen with physical buttons. Non power tailgate is a bummer. Also, I think you’re right with the legacy engine. 270 HP with a 6 speed automatic transmission would be super nice to have in this car
Lol Sir Jack got shot with the Size card.😂
The legendary boxer engine, All Wheel Drive system with global architecture design of the unibody, makes it every peso worth the purchase.
Thanks AutoDeal!
I’m on my second crosstrek and I love it so far. It’s the ground clearance, eyesight, and the awd that steered me towards this vehicle. The other option was the forester but it’s too big for me. 30k price point, I’m sold. Didn’t wanna drop big bucks on something that I’m just gonna drive to the ground (with the way I drive 🤣)
suggestion to add the sound of the horn in every review
That's better!
so many crossovers but I decided to buy the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross S HEV, I honestly had a hard time learning things again since it has so many features lol.
I love how Caco describes weather like we have a Mediterranean climate.
can you review the all new mazda cx-30 awd?
what's your take on the Hyundai Palisade
Do a cx5 vs xv
nice review, compact suv for everyday use onroad and also capable for offroad..bcs of xmode AWDeasy to park with that size...(with 152HP its enought..hindi naman tayo nag co crosscountry same as EUROPE)
Owned Subaru Xv 2018 base model I really like how it top notch the safety I don’t mind the price since it can compete practically with power and safety . The engine speak for itself try driving it on sand ,on mud ,on flood this XV can outstand other brands no hype 😊
What is the body kit on this 86/BRZ/FRS
This is the only CUV that I want
i would like to see, just for one time, jack reviewing cars and roasting caco.just for fun🤣😂🤣
19:55 sounds like Jack's ready for another surprise Baguio trip! Hahahaha
Btw the 2.5 L turbo cx5 is 2.5 M php. Also if you buy the Crosstrek cash from Subaru Alabang, it goes down to 1.7 M PHP.
wow that's a big discount. something to consider if I have extra 1.7M :D
You're a great presenter.
This might be my first car❤
Wilderness variant is unavailable in philippines😢
There’s a cx-30 awd?
Solid ka talaga idol. Very nice and very informative ❤
Prices are crazy nowadays like its not worth it at all. An XV for 2M pesos? This is worth only 1.3M a couple of years ago. I find it hard to shell that out considering I bought my old Ford Explorer at 2.4M. Whats the added cost for? Taxes? To limit small cars that are affordable to the masses out of the road? Pls educate me if I am wrong.
wish we had this colour in canada
seems to be better overall, except all the feature now hidden inside the screen. AC, xmode. 👎. This is $$$ if screen decides to conk out.
I wonder what does Caco drive =)
It's been a while since I last saw Caco do a Subaru review. Glad to see this. I love my Subaru XV 2022 (it still has the 360 cam haha). Its AWD system really drives like no other. You can feel it in the traction and in every turn. I tried driving our old RAV4 and Montero and I can really feel the Subaru superiority. I don't think I can drive any other car without spoiling my experience. Yeah, the price point is a bit of a turn off for the average Filipino, but I agree with Caco in the end, it's really worth it. You buy a Subaru for the safety, tech, and driving experience (not fuel economy though hehe).
Facts!
Hybrid available?
Caco, since the cheaper versions are more affordable, could you also review them? Could you please be more truthful, particularly when listing the drawbacks of each automobile you review?
19.5 km/l on the highway ? Are u sure? At what speed?
As someone who drives the XV/crosstrek. I really love the overall handling and ruggedness of the vehicle, most notably the power and pull of that 2L Boxer engine and most especially how it handles rough patches and unevenness of the road. With that being said, Subarus are not for everyone sadly. Given the price point, subarus are a premium car brand (not luxury) that is at par with mazda's prices. Subarus are not your typical Toyotas or nissans, not to mention the price point of pieces if ever you decide to mod your subarus of which i've done.
Agree with everything you said
I own a 2018 Subaru XV eyesight. Honestly is one of the best daily commuter cars. It has decent power, ground clearance as high as a fortuner, the clearest view of everything on the road thanks to the glass quarter panels, and is quite comfortable. Not to mention the ADAS is top notched in the industry.
Analog gauges, i have zero problems with it. The car has a 2nd screen anyway above the infotainment system that can show your tilt, adas, music, etc. I don’t mind not having a 360• camera because the blind spot monitoring system is excellent. My ONLY qualm is there are no aircon vents in the back row.
They finally carry the Crosstrek name.
what i love with the brand is the boxer engine with the low CG. really fun to drive on twisty roads...and really feels planted on the road. but subaru for me has somehow lost its way with its pricing. Expensive for a compact crossover for its small size and a CVT with a low power output vs the competition. No wonder it's no longer selling that well compared to a few years back.
Mazda and subaru is the true original japanese cars.
Regardless of the awesome boxer engine that I love, I find Subaru vehicles are sort of out-of-place in the Philippines, especially when the competition has cheaper and better stuff with newer tech. Overseas, you can get an EV for that price.
Been an avid follower of u guys. Now im looking to purchase my next vehicle, please do a comparo for all vehicles with ADAS specifically adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow (a god send in hellish traffic now a days).
More power god bless.😊
@13:39 "making sayad" made me lol.
a day in my life please? :)
in Canada i haven't seen this color in almost 4 years
Enjoyed your review… we live in Canada and own two 2021 Crosstrek Outdoor models ( 2.5 ) motor… we just ordered a 2024 Onyx to replace one of them coming off a lease.
We love our Subie!!
Best handling sub compact in the winter IMHO
Cheers
Gobear
the guy walking at the back first 30 seconds of the vid lol
As a Subaru fun, I visited Subaru showroom and there's really nothing new. Just a facelift. I guess the manufacturer enjoyed a lot with their eye sight thing.
At 2 million pesos... it already stands out by itself... :-(
Uhhh, poor jack that's a severe burn from Caco 😂
“Jack’s large compensation for his manhood”
Jack: “Wooow”
😂😂😂 10:59
4:43-4:47 is the best haha. Bruuuh I am in the market looking for the best crossover that will fit my requirements and I've been binge-watching AutoDeal reviews with Caco and he is indeed the best car reviewer ever. Hopefully Autodeal is paying you well!
Good car but the infotainment interior looks meh. I’m sticking with my Forester for now.
Nice review wish you review the forester as well great for Family 😁
Once you tried Subaru's AWD combined with the boxer engine, you'll never go back.
Strongly agree. I owned a WRX back in the day and it takes corners like a mfer. It drives with confidence and its fun
I can attest
Nah, subaru cvt is ass we drove it for long trips and it goes into limp mode on uphill because of overheating cvt belt
Same with honda civics
@@Zaizenzxzthey're maybe other cars in the same segment and price range that have better transmission but nothing compares to handling when you have a boxer engine and AWD.
I think reverse cam is enough as this car is not that big.
Halos ka price na ng wrx
Crosstrek or territory, i mean which better and worth it?
Territory has better value. The only reason people buy the XV/Crosstrek is because of its AWD and boxer engine.
hrv
If money is not an issue for you, Subaru all the way.
Caco for Barangay Captain🎉🎉
Probably the biggest deal breaker here is no air vent at the back considering this is real expensive.
just buy a good tint. lalamig at lalamig naman ang cabin,
At 45k driveaway here in Australia roughly just 1.6m pesos. 2.0s has 360 camera view. Heated and cooling seats. As well as better looking tyres.
I got the XV 1 week before the launch of this Crosstrek. T_T My agent is so bad
XV on a rainy day is ❤
So it's now Crosstrek. I guess Subaru Philippines got sick and tired of people pronouncing XV as "15".
haha
Crosstrek is now the name for this vehicle globally.
@@sharednetflix8461 So that means every other country won't call it the "15" anymore, then.
Hmmm. Cheaper than a Titanium Everest. But the wife wants those 7 seats and the sunroof. 😢
Huh who's the Jack you are always mentioning sucking his thumb and putting it oh his behind? You got me laughed man...
XV is much cooler name why they've changed it?. Tsaka mas maganda parin yung last gen in terms of design.
It has been called crosstrek in other countries
Wait. Sa Camp Aguinaldo to ah. ❤
Price too big for such a small car.
2M can be justified if it had 200+HP and 360 cam.
Other markets have that but sadly not in the PH. Or get a used Forester XT Turbo.
ill buy this car for one good reason, its engine, thats it evrything is so outdated😢
Its ADAS and AWD are still some of the best out there. You can't call that outdated.
It’s only 4 yrs ago that this model is priced around 1.3M, with no eyesight.
Yep, not too long ago you can buy a new PPV SUV for that money too.
Looks like the new Chevy Trax
Wow😍
For about 2M price tag without rear aircon vents😂
So… Passé…
Mejo pricey lang tlga pero once maka-drive ka ng subaru and ma-try yung AWD system nila, parang ayaw mo ng tumingen or sumubok ng ibang brand dahil sa reliabilty ng subaru when it comes to safety and comfort. XV 2014 user here. Ganda nito, inshallah i can get one of this. Pogi.
truth i came from yaris and ford but ung bumili kami nito wow factor talaga kahit medyo mahal sulit talaha
Magkano kuha mo? Meron mga promo na malaki discount totoo ba?
1st🎉
Expensive!
First!!!
for 2m price bracket, i'd rather get the gac gs8.
this model already feels old.
What exactly feels like new?
#machocaco
i like this car but it's in a weird position in the PH market. AWD is great in snow but it doesn't snow here. subaru's awd system is probably the best off-road but that very poor approach angle really kills its offroad abilities. a frikkin ecosport has better approach angle than this LOL. then there's the boxer engine that's not mechanic friendly.
I used to think like this too because it doesn't snow here until I bit the dust and went for an XV last year. In my opinion, the AWD system benefits even in city driving, I can feel the better grounding and traction. It was quite huge difference from our previous cars such as the RAV4 and Montero. It kinda spoiled the driving experience for me to be honest. But since all of its wheels run at the same time (unlike other AWDs that shift every now and then), downside is it's more fuel hungry. But for driving experience, for me it's still worth it.
@@eggy3766 awd doesn't help if you're not in a wheelspin scenario. placebo effect lang yan.
@@rondg2 huh? Subaru's have Active AWD kaya nga gas Hungry eh, You can turn on X-Mode to open the differentials incase mag ka imbalance with the levels of torque and wheel spin sa each wheel, Research research din pag may time
@@ParisWie19 awd doesn't help if you're not in a wheelspin scenario. too complex sentence structure? i'll simplify. if you're not getting wheelspin while driving on a 2wd car then awd car can't help you in that scenario. in other words awd doesn't help you in 99.999% of your city driving. but if you're on a mountain road w/ some mud then it might help. but if you try doing offroading you'll scrape the chin hahaha
@@ParisWie19No point in arguing with someone who doesn’t understand the difference between AWD and SAWD. As someone who has owned 12 cars, I can attest to Subaru’s SAWD even in city driving. The only car that’s made a better drive for me is Audi’s Quattro AWD. SAWD helps you go but also helps with turning and stopping. Engine braking definitely helps you stop faster in an SAWD vehicle and an LSD specifically helps keep traction in the corners especially in city turns. But hey, let’s not argue with someone who drives a discontinued Ecosport, you can’t have them.
❤
for 2M, you are out of your mind if you want this car. this is the PH and WE DONT NEED ALL WHEEL DRIVE IN THE PH.
I'm amazed by the design of Subaru's cars. It's so, errrrm, 2010s but still looks good. It's not gaudy like Mazda.
Mazda's got the "OOMPH!" and "POW!" but also the "LOOK AT ME!"; Subaru's is like a simple quiet handsome elegance.
Its the opposite blud, xv is too flashy
Subaru's designs are always weird yet attractive, such as the STIs and Foresters.
I agree. Subaru has always had the classic design. They're definitely not flashy and elegant like Mazda which I think is of the same premium niche. I like how Subaru has always been able to blend fun city driving with its off-road/outdoor vibe with their designs. Ganda ng fascia ng bagong Forester.
Lack of power..no turbo
2000's Subaru's looked better. The price is crazy. Buy a Toyota
Jack is nasty.
Nice car. But even with update, the interior design still looks outdated.
If y'all want all the tech, stick to Chinese brands. If you want reliability, and the angas factor, y'all know to get the subaru.
Its superior AWD and ADAS are better tech than most brands.
Looks dated actually
i HAVE THIS CAR ITS RUBBISH NO POWER AT ALL...YOUA HAVE TO PRESS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO GET SPEED
2 million for something that small? Subaru is being sabotaged by Toyota since that stock acquisition.
Subarus are never known to be cheap, though.
