Yes I know that animations take a really long time and effort if you like doing and you're only one person, but that's because of current state of technology available, HOW the animator does their thing and the laws the universe put on our logic. Second, the animator very likely had his reasons to make this so short, but that's why this is both good and bad, this animation is amazing but now I just want more.
As much as I enjoy a good gunfight, if you're gonna do it up close and personal, experiment with some muzzle mounted blades. Personally, I'd have a couple on top and underslung that counterbalanced each other, while allowing for a variety of slashing when in close.
