So the question posed in the video was - do you work in-house or for an outsourced FM service provider? It'd be good to hear from anyone watching which category you fall into!
Very appropriate channel for FM professional’s. It's always good to enhance one's skills by listening to new ideas and sharing ones perspective of the FM industry.
Heri Moshi A good mix of the two, then! A lot of FMs stick to one or the other throughout their career, though I think it’s possible to get experience of both - it can lead to more empathy and better working relationships with clients/suppliers
Our organization's core business is manufacturing. We have an in house facility maintenance team of 10 salaried and roughly 60 hourly personnel. Services provided in house are fire and physical security, equipment maintenance (machine tooling), facility maintenance (infrastructure), power house (steam production for heating and processes, and electrical distribution), and waste water treatment. Outsourced services are janitorial, food vending, uniforms, major infrastructure repairs and inspections. My curiosity for the industry, are new considerations in the design of ventilation systems being considered in the fallout of COVID-19? What new technologies are being considered effective?
@@norak8239 Its definitely not a good sign if your having to search “What is facilities management” into youtube right before an exam on that exact topic 😭
@@Vexxxxxxxed funny thing is I actually did great on the FM exam last year and I just had my FM exam monday of my second year and I did great again! 😛😛
@@norak8239 aw amazing, well done! Good luck with the rest of your studies. I’m also on my 2nd year, roll on a successful graduation for us both in 2024 🎉👨🎓
A lot depends on how the company breaks it down, but A facility engineer would be more in charge of the mechanical systems of a building such as HVAC, Potable water, storm water management, etc. While a facility manager would also look at cleaning services.
That example game of chess its a insult of pretender FM management there plenty of people knows how to play chess and individual function but only few win because of strategic plan.
