    I've done years of car and motorcycle seat recovering, and a long time ago I got one of the best tips ever for cutting and shaping foam - an old electric carving knife. Works like a fine sculpting tool, goes through foam like butter. Mine is from the '60s or '70s, used to be Mom's, and has the two side-byside blades that go in opposite directions. Works better on foam than it ever has on my turkeys, hahaha!!! Really cute project, nice job! 😊

      Thank you! Yes I've seen people use an electric knife before. I rarely am cutting foam but that's a great tip! I hope yours works for years to come❣

    Fabulous job. It turned out beautiful. I'd love to be curled up there with a big mug of cocoa and a good book. Well done. An aside, Karol is the name of the guy with the channel Flipping Drawers. This challenge is so much fun. Didn't expect you to make a seat from this. Nice surprise.

    Great work, very interesting to watch you put this together. I am wondering if your staple gun was anything unique as it seemed to tackle the thick foam very well. Can yo share the details on the tools you used, in particular the staple gun. keep up the great work.

    • @statementdesigns
      @statementdesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Nancy! My staple gun was rather inexpensive from Harbor Freight. I seem to destroy staple guns and this one has been my go to. Other than that just standard tools❣

    Why not use Dixie mud?? Is sea spray a better product for this?

    • @statementdesigns

      Because I wanted to mix the color in with the product.

    I’m sorry but I find “sitting down on the job” unprofessional! It’s one thing to sit down to maybe paint the bottom of a piece however your video consists of sitting 95% of the video…you can’t accomplish a great design or finish if you aren’t getting in there and standing level with your project..I’ve been repurposing and refinishing furniture for many years and haven’t “sat” to do a project nearly as much as in your videos…get in there and get eye level..raise your project on a work table or something accommodating you will find you will end with a much more professional looking project…like the idea though..that’s very creative

      For me, creativity is the thing, so thanks for the compliment. As for your criticism. I think whatever I need to do to get the job done is my business, according to my space, equipment, and physicality.
