do goalies have to stay on the floor like that? or can they stand up like a hockey goalie?
Your on your knees but sometimes you can go on your legs if the opponent is running and coming really close

Yes they can
+Brent Rushton They can stand up ofc-no rule against it, but that's mainly a resting position, you need to go on your knees to actually make the saves. Floorball goal keepers dont have the same huge pads+glove+stick than icehockey keepers...->thats why different stance ; ) Its still fun sport, played quite a few years myself.
No need to stay down, but standing up it looks like defenceman in hockey trying to save something. Just no :)...

Kyle Jackson Yes it's similar to hockey. Well, you can do it. He waited for his mate to get back so he can run back to the goal.

Yes they can stand up for as long as they will but they cover much more on there knees

No actually players score way more often than goalies safe. It's like 35/65
Normal sized goalies cover while on the goal line like 1/3 of the goal(a lot more when they come towards the player obviously).
@@benwitwicki8932 Late answer but a ball in 120+ km/h might not be the easiest to touch when they shoot 2-4 metres away from you.
why do goalies not have sticks?
+Jack Edwards Because this isn't necessary. We use a lot our hands to move fast and a stick won't be useful.

With the current world championship going at roughly 20-30 shots per game I think you're dead wrong.

+David Paul I play as a floorball goalie and i know VERY WELL how painful it is for you to get shot at the face by even a weak shot. One time the ball hit me on my mouth and my lips were bleeding.
