Dude the finish on that 594 guitar looks sick! I love that color. Great comparison video and great playing! I have a few DGT cores and a DGT SE. I’m really digging that guitar.
Hi Utkarsh. I love your YT channel and this was a great comparison video. I come from Les Paul's and now have a PRS 408 and I am very happy with it when playing with a band as the sounds cut through very nicely. However, when playing solo or recording I do long for the 50s sounding Les Paul. I was considering the DGT, but this video is making me seriously look at the 594 too.
I see you’re selling your DGT on revert. That’s a pity it didn’t work out for you. I’v got the same DGT in burnt maple leaf and a 594 in tobacco burst, I think I’m leaning towards the DGT. 11’s feel great and the neck and pickups are growing on me. I like the cleans more on 594 but anything with over derive I prefer on DGT, more exciting.
Hi Mohan, great channel. Iv just purchased a PRS McCarty double cut 2010 10 top McCartys tobacco burst which I'm sure you know it uses original 58/15 pickups. Any idea how does it compare to 594 or DGT sound wise. regards
The 594 DC will be a fair bit brighter than the Les Paul. Ergonomically different also though familiar controls layout. Highly recommend you try it out. It may be different enough to justify
Pardon me, but - with all my respect - how can you *"LOVE someone, only because he' s able to buy expensive musical instruments?"* - I can congratulate him - and be happy for him, that he' s got the money - BUT: being able to buy things is no trait of individual goodness, like a friendly mind or musical skills or something like that. Every stupid is able to buy nice things when he/she' s got the money....( but don' t misunderstand me - i'm *not* saying, Utkarsh or someone is stupid!) - Your comment lets me shake my head....
@@prognacio Excuse me, i'm perhaps a bit stupid, but i don' t understand, what Mel Gibson has to do with buying expensive rock gear....can you please explain? Greetz!
Andreas Winzen Mel Gibbons always finds the right moments to jump into different situations. Everything related to love and purifying feelings can be related to sound and other elements found in nature. Maybe this provides more clarity.

Thanks for the presentation. But i'll dare to give you the tip, NOT to change pickups in such high class instruments as f.e. the core-line PRS are!! - Why? - I always was very interested in the theory of guitar-building, so over the years i took chances to speak with a lot of true experts ( among them prominent luthiers/guitarists/ ( as f.e. onne time - in a workshop - Uli Jon Roth, legendary solo artist and the legendary first lead guitar player of the "Scorpions'" - a man that is known to know much more about electric guitars, then other, even great guitarists and who conceptualized and constructed his own guitar line...), experienced guitar technicians like Helmut Lemmerth - and also people who work for great guitar companies and there responsible for the conceptualizing of their guitar lines... - i did that for my own sake as well as for my university exam work, which is about the development and role of the electric guitar in musical history. - One important info, i always got, was, that guitar makers invest a lot in the development of their top instruments - and they build every part of an instrument exactly in the way, that optimalizes the individual sound characteristics of THAT concrete instrument, they are made for! Especially the pickups for the DGT are not only made to regain the sound of David Grissoms '1959 ES 335' - they are also tuned to fit 100% to the wood characteristics and other construction components of that exact instrument! - Replacement pickups from other companies are constructed without relation to a specific guitar and they don't follow a specific construction concept - they are just built to either give more output - or to push certain frequencies - thats all, what a pickup can do due to its construction - but they do these without reconsidering the specific individualities of a certain guitar! They must be so, because the company, that builds them, must take care to give them a maximum range of apply to all types of current instruments on the market - thats a matter of profite to make! To replace an original pickup by a - in this way - "jack-of-all-trades" ( what an replacement pickup has to be...), so i've been told by ALL experts, is rarely a good idea, because most guitarists normally buy a certain guitar because of its certain sound, its "acoustical individuality" - this new pickup ( no matter how it is praised by the company ...) stays to be something like a "foreign body" - it may make the instrument a bit louder, or "brighter" or something like that, - but it does this for the price of killing the typical sound ( and optic) of this exact instrument. You no further own a - for example - PRS 'DGT', you then own some kind of a "hybrid" - and not seldom, the sound of the new pickup doesn' t really improve your sound, because their is no more "organic integrity" between the single parts/elements that make the whole instrument what it is! - And, last not least, it ueually lowers the worth of the guitar, when you decide to sell it one day! - Guitarists are usually also traditionalists when it comes to their instruments! - To use an extreme example: Just imagine , someone' s got an original 1959' Les Paul ... - and screws out the original PAFs and replaces them by 2000-somewhat "Burstbuckes" or "di Marzio dual sounds" or something like that!! - Any guitar-collector ( ... and surely most of real fan-guitarists...) would ( imaginated....) "nail you to the wall" for that!! ((😖)) That would be "exploiting a legend"!! It would be a sacrilege!! - And it surely would destroy the worth - also in Dollar!! Thank you my friend! this was a stellar comparison of these two great instruments.
Thanks for your kind words
Excellent presentation Utkarsh. Insightful, comprehensive and very helpful. Thank you for sharing. Ky

594 for my style of playing; clean with a lot of modulation and vintage style overdrive and distortion.
I have the McCarty 594DC. The pickups are "low winds" and very clear and articulate.

the 408 is really awesome as well. I particularly love the split tones
Absolutely in love with the 594 but HOLY CRAP the dgt sounded absolutely magical. I want those pickups

Reverb I meant
Awesome guitars! Can you tell the color on the DGT, looks great!
Charcoal purple burst
Both are gorgeous guitars. Congrats
Super-helpful, thank you!!

I have Gibson Les Paul 50s standard, thinking of getting a 594DC se, do you think these two are very similar guitars ?
The 594 DC will be a fair bit brighter than the Les Paul. Ergonomically different also though familiar controls layout. Highly recommend you try it out. It may be different enough to justify
The DGT seems really cool would love to hear it next to my McCarty. Is it Nitro?
DGT is way to expensive for me, but i really like it. Is there a more budget version for around $1500?
Prs granted your wish, they made an SE version
I love how you buy great guitars! Congrats!

So the dgt has a more comfortable neck? Is it slightly thinner ?
It is not as wide as the 594s neck. Comfort is a matter of taste but the DGTs jumbo frets feel quite nice
