Got back from taking aid to Ukraine from UK yesterday. Small Qs at border, people great...in fact the nicest I ever met. Off again in two weeks. Food is the best, women beautiful...I love the place. Only downer is they drive like its a race😂
My neighbour is from Ukraina and she is in this moment in Kyiv. I am working twice a week as speakteacher specially for people from Ukraina. That's good, that you show us, how everything is looking like from the other side of the TV-News.👍
It makes me happy to see some sort of normalcy in Ukraine nowadays even though there's fear and terror looming underneath. I was in Kyiv six years ago and I recognise several of the places in this video. Such a welcoming country and friendly people. I will certainly visit again. Slava Ukraini!
I am heading to Ukraine in the spring, war or no war. I have scheduled time to volunteer with a group the is rebuilding houses in Kharkiv and Kherson Oblasts. So I am not just going as a tourist. From the US traveling to Warsaw by plane, then by train into Ukraine, is the easiest and cheapest route. Booking 5-7months out saves a lot of money on the plane tickets. My flights dropped from around 2k USD to travel in the next 3 months to 750 USD when I booked 7 months out. Personal Advice: Dont rush, enjoy your trip. No matter how much you are able to take in there is always something else you will learn about that you will want to see. So just plan on taking another trip to Ukraine, you will end up wanting to visit again anyway.
There are several bus lines operating from Warsaw into Ukraine. In May 2023, I rode a FlixBus from Warsaw to Lviv, then went by train. Crossing the border took less than an hour and a bus is quieter, has wifi, and is more comfortable than a train ride. Yes, volunteers are welcomed and respected.
Thanks Taya , it’s really nice to see you , You weren’t showing up on my TH-cam lately so I decided to look you up , anyway interesting subject on traveling Ukraine 🇺🇦 😊💙💛 really enjoyed it hope all is well 😘
Fun fact. When I was younger and was going to courses after school I heard those sirens for the first time and got really anxious. I think they were just checking them but yea it wasn't pleasant.
Congratulations Taya for reaching 200K subscribers. Goodluck to you and your channel. Stay safe . Thanks for posting this video during all the troubles.
Thank you for your positive outlook and staying in touch with the world. Yes you are a great ambassador for your country. Your videos are well formatted and your beauty and pleasant personality are always pleasing to watch. Peace & Love to Ukraine❤️🌸💕
Dear Taya, it's such a fantastic country and people!🇺🇦✌ I've been in Ukraine iften ftom 2017 to 2020 - coaching start-ups. Some still work! Next time - I'd love to go and this time seriously learn Ukrainian! Surely in 2024. Would love to meet you then. Take care and go on with your vids!😊 Your tips a very helpful for planning!
Your explanation of what's what in the Ukraine and your travel tips are eye-opening and informative. Your videography is excellent too. Thank you. Andrew M. Nevada US.
I entered Ukraine on a Schengen passport a couple of years before the war. Unbelievably easy to enter. Even easier to enter other western countries. Walk straight in no questions asked……..love it! Wow your video shows the exact same spot I bought my Hard Rock Cafe Chernobyl T shirt. Thanks for sharing such beautiful memories. 🥰
@@dancoffey3552 How is tourism right now? Is a foreign tourist a rarity these days, or can you still see and hear quite a few tourist in the city center and tourist attractions? And what do you think of the overall safety situation at the moment? I'm planning to go to Lviv and Kyiv for 10 days this April. Not too worried myself, but my family is pushing me not to go. Thanks, stay safe and enjoy!
Oh my gosh, I hadn't seen an image of St. Andrews since I was there in '94. Still beautiful. I bought a small oil painting from a local artist in that same market area. It hangs in my office to this day. Although the painting is of St. Sophia, not St. Andrew. Thank you for the wonderful tour Taya Wishing peace to your people and country.
I visited Ukraine in July 2023 for 2 weeks and it was best trip ever. From Poland I needed only a passport. I confirm that passing a border is very problematic because it takes around 4 hours.
Hi Taya. I'm from Spain, near Barcelona. I like your channel. You are making a very good videos. I am interested in your maravellous country. I am following vídeos about your country since 2021. I desire then God bless you and your country. See you soon again. 💞
Ukraine still uses Soviet railroad gauge, so for a train to cross the border into Poland every truck under every wagon must be changed. It would be better if Ukraine would upgrade certain lines to standard gauge to inter-operate with Europe. It would also mean that russian trains could not operate in Ukraine. When rebuilding, new railroads should be in the standard gauge further distancing Ukraine from Soviet legacies and better integrating it into Europe.
That's so true, but unfortunately USSR bring us to a lot of sucks as trains, culture and mind-set. Just recently in the past few year's ppl are starting realising that we cant rely on any of the governments or etc. We have to take to our hands and made it we are donating, fixing, rebuilding, fighting.
Guys, I have lived in Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Poland and I assure you that nowadays it is safer to walk through Kiev, than through Los Angeles or San Francisco... even than through London or Paris...
I crossed the border from Poland 4 times last year. Was over in less than half an hour. When going back, dont get in line with the trucks (you'll be there for a week), drive your car along them all the way to the border crossing to cross within 4 hours. Some more expensive hotels will have a shelter with a bar. Beautiful country! Worth the visit! NL ❤ UA
(i made this picture of myself in front of the mirror some time ago when i was more muscular with muscle control added to enhance the shape plus the effect of lense distortion). It is according to one of my son's shape. Thats all i made besides natural artwork which i can't just show for the most part.
Advising your bank you're going to Ukraine is good advice! Many people use Google Pay so set that up. Cards are mostly tap, but chip works too. Crossing the border was far less dramatic that I anticipated. Passport check by friendly soldiers, 1/2 hour later the train was on its way. I was somewhat disappointed they didn't ask for my invitation (from the hospital where I would be volunteering), which I heard was required. I thing having a passport from the US smoothed the way in alot of situations. Uber is very cheap and you can pay cash. And that's good because Uber was the one app that wouldn't play nice with my American credit/debit card. Except for humanitarian/medical missions we performed to Donbass, I felt very safe. This was especially true on the street in the cities of Kiev and Lviv. No sketchiness at all. People aren't messing around these days, and there's a midnight curfew. It sounds strange for people to hear, "except for the air raids, it's very safe" but it's true. Kiev is just beautiful! The market and pathways Taya shows us are really beautiful and full of lovely Ukrainian people out enjoying the summer. I fell in love with the place and will be back in spring on another humanitarian mission. - Taya... what were the names of those restaurants?
Thanks for the information. Some good starting points. To read on. Looking for road maps. To read on and mark locations. Gorky park in Odessa to meet Tetyana. Thanks.

It's so interesting you just showed the places that I visited in Ukraine back in 2018. The restaurant is great, has a nice dessert. The flea market is nice also.
I have been to ukraine twice during the war. Both times, I arrived in Romania and made my way. The first time, I had no plan, took a train to the border, hitchhiked across the border to Moldova and then Reni, and I eventually made it to Odessa. The second time, I took a bus from Bucharest, it crossed at the Orlivka Ferry, which was a much better option. It is a long journey, but worth it if you have family or loved ones there.
