@@HiyokoSupiritto i would hate to speak for him, but he explained that he was inspired to create his own character by being a megafan of James Rolfe at a very low point in his life. He said at that time it helped build up his confidence and give him a creative outlet to express himself… however after so many years of doing this schtick, he really just got tired of it and wanted to leave his LJN persona to rest. He basically didnt need it anymore

Interestingly enough, Sonic Unleashed is one of the rare games that Matt dislikes that is generally well-liked. The game used to be almost as hated as Sonic 06, but Sonic fans have really warmed up to it in the past several years.

I can't believe he spoke so ill of it. It's easily one of the best Sonic games of all time if you ask me.
