I had my eye on the Pochette Metis for a while, I love the bag, but the last price rise it went up $500 and put me off a little! And when I tried it on it just didn't suit my large frame, but I appreciate it on others, it's lovely! Great video too xo
maria mous pretty sure the price "only" went up $130 (was $1650 in 2013, now $1780). Still! Totally agree that at any price there shouldn't be this many problems/drama..
maria mous...I am over 5-8 and "large boned"! I purchased the PM in infra rouge in March. While the strap doesn't fall as long as I'd like because I have a long torso, I love the bag and just roll with it. I purchased a guitar strap as well and love it with that. If you love the bag and it feels good, don't worry about having a large frame. Do what makes you happy. I love my PM and the heck with what others might think!

Hi! Great video! I purchased the PM in black empreinte and took it back and exchanged it for my cherry red 🍒 speedy 25. The black PM just didn't do it for me - and when full - it stuck out of my side like wow! It just didn't make me excited....now my cherry red empreinte speedy 25 makes me smile! The PM in my opinion is more fun in either the classic monogram or bright colors.....thanks again for an informative video! 💕

Minnie, I was able to pick up a Favorite online about 2 weeks ago. By sheer luck stalking the site at like 8am on a Saturday morning. I noticed they have been popping up sporadically. When I placed my order, the site then went to call for availability. I do believe this might be the direction LV is heading in for some of their popular bags.

I know this is an old video, but I have a one year old PM in noir Empreinte and the bottom half of the embossing on the front has flattened. It almost appears ombré in style now as far as from the top it’s crisp and fades as it goes down. The back looks crisp and no change. Also the s lock scratches very easily and color has completely rubbed off the part you pinch with your fingers to open. I’ve sent in for repair.

My 2nd PM bag also peeled and cracked. The first one took a year, the 2nd one took two years. LV treated me well. I didn't get a third PM after that. Used store credit for a different bag. I hope you have better luck.
Hey Minnie! A bit late to the PM partay here... Hope you’re still loving your PM! Thanks for such an informative and helpful video. I just wanted to ask you something about the Pochette Metis. I recently managed to purchase one in London UK, but when I got it home I noticed that I could feel the back of lock... the plate part through the lining in the front pocket. Is this normal? I feel that LV should have added an extra layer to the back of the lock or made the lining thicker to prevent possible thinning with wear, particularly when putting in and pulling things out of the bag, surely it will rub on that lock area. The problem with this model of bag is it’s so hard to obtain, I never have the chance to compare two in the store (bc they never have two at one time!). If you CAN feel the back of the lock through the lining then I will feel reassured and know it’s not just mine. Thanks, Sinead
I got really lucky. On the 4th of July I was looking at the pochette Metis mono on the LV website and usually it says to call to see if its available. But then that day it, it was available for immediate purchase online. My heart just STOPPED. lol Bought it right away!! Then called my girlfriend to tell her that the bag is available online!!!! She went on the website but too late all gone. 30 min later I still went on the website to see it there is available. There was!!! So I purchased it for my girlfriend (of course she will pay me back) and just received the 2 bag today for a total wait of 3 days. I guess it came out straight from their factory in Edison New Jersey because I live in Canada. I got extremely lucky, so guys dont let your hopes down and look often on their website! :)

I’m glad I rewatched this video since I just had glazing issues after having my PM for 6 months. When they were inspecting my bag at LV they noticed a slight crack on the side of the bigger section of the bag. I never noticed it at all. They offered me a new bag, apparently my LV store had 15 new ones come in. I’m was hesitant to keep it but after watching the video I’m going to and hope it doesn’t happen again. Have you heard of cracking on the side of the PM??

I really think the Pochette Metis is a classic. Will it become as iconic as some is yet to be seen. I own two. The Monogram and one in empreinte. This bag was once on contingency (winter 2015). I'm not sure why these decisions are made for or against, but that was a time when the glazing issue was wide spread. I heard that popular bags being sold online was to combat reseller, another attempt at creating an even playing field. Who knows. Tass wow that's hard to say. The Mono PM is my favorite canvas bag, even though I actually like Damier Ebene over Mono. However, I love leather. I own 6 leather LV handbags and 3 of them are Empreinte. I'm in love with empreinte. I got my PM in Marine Rouge because I had to have that colorway lol. I NEEDED it. I don't own a Noir empreinte bag but have a few Noir empreinte slgs. You would not go wrong with a black leather bag and if vachetta is a concern I would pick the leather bag. As Minnie said it's pretty much a no fuss bag. Either one is a winner. lol I'm not much help.

Tass for my 2 cents I have owned and used the Noir empreinte PM since March and to this point no problems. Love that it is so carefree to use and I find it comfortable even when packed full. Hope you get and enjoy yours.

Almost bought this in black while in Rome. They had a wait list on the mono. That is what I really wanted but the Noir was beautiful! The Jersey with black really made my heart sing so I went with that. The pouchette is getting so hard to get your hands on!!

Really useful FAQ - good insights. I feel like since you made the video a couple years ago, the quality control may be back up again (or at least according to the sales people at LV). They say they don't really see any glazing issues anymore but if there are some that you can bring it back to them for replacement or repair for free
I'd still really like to have the PM, just a shame it's unavailable in most Louis Vuitton stores and only seems to be sold preowned a couple hundred bucks above store prices....
Hello Minnie, I recently bought my pochette metis from Las Vegas LV fashion house via mail (I was on the list, I live in Florida) When I receive my bag, the bottom and the sides of the biggest compartment are slouchy and the bottom is warped and the canvas is soft. I had to send it back because i felt like it was used and returned item. I am so disappointed and very unhappy. I don't know why but i felt i had to share my experience with you. I am still on the list and waiting for replacement.

I have decided to leave the pochette metis for another year or so, my logic being that, hopefully, everybody who is really desperate for one will have it by then so it won't be as hard to get after all that time and that LV should have fixed any quality issues by then. I don't have an LV bag yet, although I do have a few SLGs which I love to pieces, so this will be my first bag.
I just ordered my pochette metis regular monogram in the middle of June!!! It was available for a couple days and it was gone again!!! I am so lucky I got it online! But I feel bad that people on wait lists in stores don't have it yet! Not fair to them!!! I love the bag, it's very versatile but a little smaller than I thought it would be but I am getting use to it! My phone doesn't fit in the bag pocket though, I have a iPhone 7 plus with a otterbox, booo , I have to put it in the main compartments! But I have really been enjoying it when I go out and want to carry something small and easy to carry!

Susi Susi I don't think it's a return. It came with protective stickers on both top and bottom parts of the s lock and rubber protectors on the strap. It's in perfect new condition, not one flaw on strap or bag. All the regular things I get with bags, I am have nice collection and wouldn't say it was different from the others I ordered online.

I actually think this is so helpful! This is an item that I will be purchasing and I'm stuck between the classic monogram and the black empreinte leather. I've only handled the empreinte leather but something keeps holding me back from making the jump. I recently added the cherry empreinte felicie (I shared with you on Instagram) and I love it but it's new and I don't know how the wear will be. This was awesome...keep doing these videos!

I have been following TPF thread(s) on the PM and have been checking the LV website. Occasionally, you will see a bag available for purchase which I have found odd considering the wait lists. I haven't purchased yet because I am worried about receiving a "return" instead of a newly made bag. Thanks for this update! Also, if you make another video on this bag or another LV bag, I'd be curious as to what you look for when you inspect a bag before purchase, e.g. do you look for scratches on hardware, alignment or centering of pattern, made in, etc. (what matters to you when deciding to buy a bag and when do you ask for another bag in the back for inspection if the floor sample isn't to your liking).
Lisa, I too worried about returns with my PM infra rouge. There were so many glazing issues when it was released, I decided to wait on it. When I saw in February that it was becoming scarce on the website, I called my SA and asked her to order one for me to pick up in the store. When I went to the store, she brought it out and we saw that it came straight from the warehouse, all original packing material etc. The first thing I did was go to the date code and when we saw it was made it 2017, I felt confident that it would be ok. No glazing issues and am loving it. What I appreciated the most was that had it not been right, I didn't have to purchase it. It was a win-win.

I'm trying to find the answer to a question I have regarding the Pochette Metis Monogram regarding it's clamp. I just received my bag yesterday and purchased it by calling the LV on-line phone number and then being transferred to a rep in Dallas, TX. My new bag is beautiful; however, I'm concerned because only ONE of the buttons on my clamp moves to release it. The left button. The right button does NOT move/slide to contribute to opening the bag. Is this how the bag is made or is this some sort of a defect. Great video but the pochette metis did not make my heart sing when I tried it in the store. I'm 5'2" with a small frame and this bag looks funny when on shoulder or crossbody. It's very popular but I prefer the less popular croisette or caissa clutch in this size.

I pass on empreinte leather too, even SLG. I prefer the epi. I love pochette metis. Thankfully there's no problem with mine but my cousin has glazing problems with hers. Both were purchased in Paris at the same time and both are made in Italy. So weird.

I’m glad I rewatched this video since I just had glazing issues after having my PM for 6 months. When they were inspecting my bag at LV they noticed a slight crack on the side of the bigger section of the bag. I never noticed it at all. They offered me a new bag, apparently my LV store had 15 new ones come in. I’m was hesitant to keep it but after watching the video I’m going to and hope it doesn’t happen again. Have you heard of cracking on the side of the PM??

I really think the Pochette Metis is a classic. Will it become as iconic as some is yet to be seen. I own two. The Monogram and one in empreinte.
This bag was once on contingency (winter 2015). I'm not sure why these decisions are made for or against, but that was a time when the glazing issue was wide spread. I heard that popular bags being sold online was to combat reseller, another attempt at creating an even playing field. Who knows.

Tass wow that's hard to say. The Mono PM is my favorite canvas bag, even though I actually like Damier Ebene over Mono. However, I love leather. I own 6 leather LV handbags and 3 of them are Empreinte. I'm in love with empreinte. I got my PM in Marine Rouge because I had to have that colorway lol. I NEEDED it. I don't own a Noir empreinte bag but have a few Noir empreinte slgs. You would not go wrong with a black leather bag and if vachetta is a concern I would pick the leather bag. As Minnie said it's pretty much a no fuss bag. Either one is a winner. lol I'm not much help.

The vachetta is not my concern, my concern is i am not a big fan of the LV monogram print but I'd really love the design of PM like you said its look soo classy! Its just beautiful. So thats why I think the noir will be more understated. I will definitely gonna buy the empreinte then ❤️ thank you for your answer
Tass for my 2 cents I have owned and used the Noir empreinte PM since March and to this point no problems. Love that it is so carefree to use and I find it comfortable even when packed full. Hope you get and enjoy yours.

Almost bought this in black while in Rome. They had a wait list on the mono. That is what I really wanted but the Noir was beautiful! The Jersey with black really made my heart sing so I went with that. The pouchette is getting so hard to get your hands on!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Favorite. I kept checking the site, and bought the DA version because I loved the Favorite in Mono so much! It's my favorite, with the metis mono strap. I sure wish they made a DA canvas strap!

Really useful FAQ - good insights. I feel like since you made the video a couple years ago, the quality control may be back up again (or at least according to the sales people at LV). They say they don't really see any glazing issues anymore but if there are some that you can bring it back to them for replacement or repair for free

Hello Minnie, I recently bought my pochette metis from Las Vegas LV fashion house via mail (I was on the list, I live in Florida) When I receive my bag, the bottom and the sides of the biggest compartment are slouchy and the bottom is warped and the canvas is soft. I had to send it back because i felt like it was used and returned item. I am so disappointed and very unhappy. I don't know why but i felt i had to share my experience with you. I am still on the list and waiting for replacement.
Thanks for answering my question, Minnie, it was really helpful. I have decided to leave the pochette metis for another year or so, my logic being that, hopefully, everybody who is really desperate for one will have it by then so it won't be as hard to get after all that time and that LV should have fixed any quality issues by then. I don't have an LV bag yet, although I do have a few SLGs which I love to pieces, so this will be my first bag.

I just ordered my pochette metis regular monogram in the middle of June!!! It was available for a couple days and it was gone again!!! I am so lucky I got it online! But I feel bad that people on wait lists in stores don't have it yet! Not fair to them!!! I love the bag, it's very versatile but a little smaller than I thought it would be but I am getting use to it! My phone doesn't fit in the bag pocket though, I have a iPhone 7 plus with a otterbox, booo , I have to put it in the main compartments! But I have really been enjoying it when I go out and want to carry something small and easy to carry!

Susi Susi I don't think it's a return. It came with protective stickers on both top and bottom parts of the s lock and rubber protectors on the strap. It's in perfect new condition, not one flaw on strap or bag. All the regular things I get with bags, I am have nice collection and wouldn't say it was different from the others I ordered online.

I actually think this is so helpful! This is an item that I will be purchasing and I'm stuck between the classic monogram and the black empreinte leather. I've only handled the empreinte leather but something keeps holding me back from making the jump. I recently added the cherry empreinte felicie (I shared with you on Instagram) and I love it but it's new and I don't know how the wear will be. This was awesome...keep doing these videos!

I have been following TPF thread(s) on the PM and have been checking the LV website. Occasionally, you will see a bag available for purchase which I have found odd considering the wait lists. I haven't purchased yet because I am worried about receiving a "return" instead of a newly made bag. Thanks for this update! Also, if you make another video on this bag or another LV bag, I'd be curious as to what you look for when you inspect a bag before purchase, e.g. do you look for scratches on hardware, alignment or centering of pattern, made in, etc. (what matters to you when deciding to buy a bag and when do you ask for another bag in the back for inspection if the floor sample isn't to your liking).
I've also been holding off on purchasing when the PM pops up online for the same reason..maybe now I'll spring for it! 😊
Lisa, I too worried about returns with my PM infra rouge. There were so many glazing issues when it was released, I decided to wait on it. When I saw in February that it was becoming scarce on the website, I called my SA and asked her to order one for me to pick up in the store. When I went to the store, she brought it out and we saw that it came straight from the warehouse, all original packing material etc. The first thing I did was go to the date code and when we saw it was made it 2017, I felt confident that it would be ok. No glazing issues and am loving it. What I appreciated the most was that had it not been right, I didn't have to purchase it. It was a win-win.

I'm new to the TH-cam channels and ran across yours and have been enjoying them for about a week now. I'm trying to find the answer to a question I have regarding the Pochette Metis Monogram regarding it's clamp. I just received my bag yesterday and purchased it by calling the LV on-line phone number and then being transferred to a rep in Dallas, TX. My new bag is beautiful; however, I'm concerned because only ONE of the buttons on my clamp moves to release it. The left button. The right button does NOT move/slide to contribute to opening the bag. Is this how the bag is made or is this some sort of a defect. Thanks so much for any light you may be able to shed on my question.

Great video but the pochette metis did not make my heart sing when I tried it in the store. I'm 5'2" with a small frame and this bag looks funny when on shoulder or crossbody. It's very popular but I prefer the less popular croisette or caissa clutch in this size.

Hi Minnie, I had a thought. If the glazing on the Pochette Metis Empreinte starts to crack, do you think it will/could endanger the actual empreinte leather causing it to crack (like the canvas) or fray?

Jumbo question. I'm just wondering if the chain ever twists. Do you ever have to fix a link or two? I have a mini and the link right above the grommets twists around. It has me constantly looking over the chain.

I pass on empreinte leather too, even SLG. I prefer the epi. I love pochette metis. Thankfully there's no problem with mine but my cousin has glazing problems with hers. Both were purchased in Paris at the same time and both are made in Italy. So weird.
