Try the GCN energy bars, they are fantastic, I've tried lots of flap jack recipes, but this recipe is the winner. I'd like to do the Skeggy ride, once I'm allowed to visit my mum in Nottingham.
Great videos Richard. Over the few few years I've done a few 200 mile group rides and would love to see a video on your best advice for planning and riding 200+ solo rides. Please keep the video coming.
Fantastic Richard I could do with your help as I'm pretty new to cycling want help with a training plan so I can start preparing for sportive and gran foundos
Great video Richard and what a fantastic ride, I’ve done a handful of 100 milers but want to do a 200 miler from Nottingham to Skeggy and back but don’t think I’m ready yet. Would be interested to know your fuelling and break strategy as I tend to not eat enough and keep going then end up bonking doh!
Maybe I will go into it in a future video. I guess the best answer I can give in a comment is simply, take more food than you think you might need! That bonking feeling is bad :( Typically 3-4 hours I would have a break - distance wise thats probably 80km-100km. The more you can eat whilst still moving the better the less you need to physically stop. I am hoping to do the "Everybody Rides To Skeggy" audax at some point - starts in Alfreton - prefer to ride that with someone though.
Epic ride Richard 👍
Thanks for subscribing and watching =)

Just bought a batch of Wiggle Caffeine energy gels to try out. Normally I stick with bars, but thought I'd order some gels as well.

Cheers Richard, I was also hoping to do the Skeggy Audax from Alfreton as it’s quite close to me (Notts) 👍
