Last month, with the support of our subscribers and followers, we rescued 6 Belgian Draft Horses and a donkey from shipping to slaughter! We were told from the livestock yard that the donkey was pregnant but we wanted to find out for sure if she was or not so we had an additional blood test done on Blue. The test results are in! Find out if our new rescued donkey is pregnant or not! And there is an update on how she is fitting into the herd.
It has also been a stressful few weeks around here because we integrated Hank and Andy into the herd. Hank and Andy were the last 2 of the 6 Belgian Draft Horses that were rescued. Their integration was a lot smoother than the last integration with Elias. If you missed that video check out the link below! And...we had 3 emergency vet appointments last week. I don't know if it was from the cold snap we had or what the situation was but I spent my week at Mobile Veterinary Practice. All the details on what happened are in this video.
We hope you enjoy this video! Make sure you like, comments and subscribe to our channel so you don't miss anything happening around here! Because it's never a dull moment!
I mentioned Finn in this video. If you don't know what happened with Finn, please watch this video for all the details on Finn.

As a growing horse rescue group, we rely on monetary donations to keep the organization moving forward. The Big Hoof Foundation will always be transparent with how your donations are used. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the rescued horses' feed, hay, medical bills, medications, alternative medical treatments, supplements, surgeries, etc. Every dollar raised is for the horses!
Our ability to help these horses is only because of the generous donations from our subscribers and followers! Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Big Hoof Foundation to help us save more of these precious lives from shipping to slaughter and provide them with the care they deserve.
The information about Giving Tuesday and the grant we were nominated for can also be found on our website at the below link. Please vote for us weekly!

The one item WE always need is FEED! If you would like to send a gift/donation of feed (Alfa Pro) you can send that through our local feed store, HF & C Amarillo. HF&C Amarillo has offered to help us with anyone wanting to send a gift/donation of Alfa-Pro to the horses. When you call, tell them you are sending a gift to Fletcher Farms Amarillo/Big Hoof Foundation and they will add the gifts to our account.
Alfa-Pro is a complete pelleted alfalfa mixed with vitamins and minerals all the horses need on a daily basis. Alfa-Pro is $17.45 per bag. They do offer a discount if you purchase by the pallet (40 - 50 pound bags) $16.95 per bag if purchased by the pallet. WE go through 6 bags per day to feed all 18 horses (300 pounds per day)!

A HUGE Thank you to all of our subscribers and followers for your support, kindness and generosity! We are grateful for everything and don't know what we would do without you!
By the way, I plan to comment multiple times during videos. For those who don’t know…commenting helps the channel! So comment and remember to give 👍👍.🧡🧡
Thank you! We appreciate your support!
Did not realise that commenting helps, always try to watch adverts as that also helps I believe
@@Sue-hq3uo From what I understand, it all helps, which is great and super easy for subscribers to do.
Thank you Shelly Ross! I was not aware that comments help the channel! That is good to know! Thank you again!
I can't shut up long enough to not comment.
I mean I have to resort to randomly commenting because my cats are tired of listening to me.
Congratulations Blue, you're a beautiful donkey with the most adorable ears, and your baby will be safe and loved❤️
Thank you! It's going to be an exciting winter Im sure!

Hope you'll have an exciting and undramatic winter💚
You've certainly had a few scares lately, but luckily everything turned out just fine❣️
Congratulations! So happy you rescued Blue and all the herd - thank you for all you do to save these lovely equines!
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching! It's going to be an exciting year ahead!
Congratulations Blue! You’ll have a beautiful baby in a safe environment!❤
Thank you!
She is adorable! Blue looks like she's trying to snuggle. Love, love, love to hear some donkey singing! Thank you for sharing! Love and scritches to Liam and all the other "fur buddies" at Fletcher Farms. BIG HUGS and huge thanks for sharing this part of your life with us! Blessed Be!
You are so kind! We are glad you enjoy our videos and appreciate you following our journey.
Oh my Lord, I can't imagine what kind of vet bills you must have 😱 Thank you for all you do. You certainly are a blessing to the horses ❤
And a blessing to this earth!
I love the donkeys and am very glad that you rescued them. They are so cute and i love there ears. I wish i could have horses and donkeys.
What a tough week you’ve had, great to hear everyone came through OK! Thank you all for love and care you give these gentle giants! X
I had a cat called BLUE who was an exotic Siamese cat. 1980 to 1996 great name great cat, great donkey!
I am so happy you rescued beautiful Blue, now Jack and the other donkeys have a new sister. The new draft horses are such beautiful animals. I feel bad that when they are done as a working horse, they ship them to slaughter. You are doing God's work saving as many as you can, Thank you❤
I think it’s sick that they go to slaughter. No other word for it.
The third horse that's a registered stud, has he been gilded yet? He is so magnificent! You can't set him out with all those mares! Gosh he is a gorgeous animal!
Korbin had not been gelded yet. Since he is an older horse the procedure will be a little more involved. We are going to have the surgery done after the first hard freeze because it will help restrict the blood flow to the area and will help his recovery time.
Great! He is so gorgeous!
oh my god, THOSE EARS!!! ❤ I’m in love with Blue’s giant ears
You'll have to leave some of that love, now from me, to share. Love those ears. They are so expressive.❤❤🙄🙄❤❤
As always love the rescue of overworked senior Belgians that you do and the donkeys.
Good morning all! 👋👋
I love watching the donkeys. Everyone looks very happy and energetic. It sure was windy on this day. Good see such harmony among all the donkeys and horses. I think they all know how lucky they are. 🧡
It's always windy here! LOL Thank you for watching! We appreciate you!
@@FletcherFarmsAmarillo My mom grew up in Amarillo and lived there til just after I was born. She use to always tell me she never realized how windy it always was there until she moved away. Where she moved to was eerily quiet. Then, one day she realized the quiet was the lack of wind blowing, LOL. Also, my aunt and uncle had a farm out there for over 60 years until they both passed on. I haven't been there for 30+ years, but spent a lot of my childhood visiting the farm. I still have some relatives in Amarillo.
All the horses look so beautiful in y'all's care. And it is exciting that you rescued mama Blue! I just love donkeys because they have such great personalities! Keep up the wonderful work!
It's so cute. Jack just doesn't know how to act.😊
Jack never knows how to act! 🤣
You care so much for these animals , they are lucky you and your husband are so caring and compassionate. Blue looks so sweet and gentle
Young lady you are truly a beauty inside and out a true angel on this earth thank u for all u do ❤
So amazing. Colic is so scary. My sister went on a trip and left me to watch over her horses. Wouldn't you know it, her most loved horse coliced. This was before cell phones. Thank goodness the vet came to us. It was an impaction. It was a long night but the vet fixed her up. I was so worried.
Oh congratulations Blue sweetheart, can't wait to see your beauty, oh Julie what a rough time you've been having, so glad all is well now for your beautiful babies, they all deserve it, Luv.Di 🇬🇧
Donkeys are wonderful creatures and I'm delighted that Blue has been rescued and in foal too. The first ever cruelty case ever prosecuted was over a donkey in the West of Ireland and it was taken by a local Justice of the Peace by the name of Richard Martin of Ballinahinch Castle, Connemara as a result he became known as Humanity Dick
You have wonderful veterinarians! The horses are keeping you on your toes. Congratulations on your grant nomination! I will go vote now! 🧡
17:05 I am amazed at how quiet Charlie is as he gets a hose run in his nose down to his stomach!
I was so excited to see the update. Busy is an under statement. Can't say it enough Thank You for your commitment to the horses and donkeys. Makes me feel great to the the progress of the Big Hoof Foundation.
Hi Julie 😊 I am in awe of the work you do with these rescue draft horses and donkeys. You are doing a wonderful job along with your husband, Veterinarians & their staff, plus all the people who support your work. I'm sure the Hay Gain company would be more than happy to sponsor a new hay steamer for the horses. Please ask your vet if they think this might help with a lot of the digestive issues, and also, ask if they think a daily dose of caster oil would help the horses with choking and digestive issues. It seems that the oil might possibly aid in the dry hay passing through their pipes. Just a thought 😊
I am so glad you are giving these horses time to be with a herd and not work and end their lives in the terror of slaughter. You give them so much with so much affection and gentle care. Thank you.
I just voted again for the second week! I will let my niece know to vote, too. She rescued a Belgian almost 3 years ago, but we lost her last June. 😔 I hope she will get the chance to rescue another one soon. I will vote again next week...🧡🧡
I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago. I subscribed. I love your channel.... so relaxing.. I love your herd..
I know you are south of the big fire. Please be safe.. I am praying for you and the herd. And everyone in the panhandle..
So very glad Amelia is okay! Congratulations to Blue, I can’t wait to meet her baby.
Wow, y'all were busy. I'm glad everyone is doing better, and there's a baby on the way!!🎉❤
Thank you!
Hi Julie.! just voted for your foundation and gave a donation from my aged pension. Best wishes from Australia
Wow you certainly had a bad week with the horses at the vets so glad they are now all ok and doing fine. cannot wait to see the baby donkey when it arrives.
Thank you for the update, Julie! You have been so busy and we have missed you! Love to hear all about the Fletcher Farms Amarillo goings on. I have gotten attached to the horses and donkeys. (You have quite a donkey delegation, now!) They are all so magnificent! Hope things quiet down in terms of urgent vet visits, though. That must be so stressful for you! So thankful that these creatures are under your loving care. ❤
How exiting, a new baby coming with Blue! Just imagine if Blue would have been send to slaughter instead of being adopted by you, how tragic that would have been! 😥 I just love watching your videos you post, they always make my day! A huge Thank You from Conroe Texas for all that you are doing!!! ❤️👍🐴
bless you and all these beautiful horses and donkeys
Fwew a lot of stress but I am happy to see there all good now. Even at their age they are beautiful.❤❤
Thank you!
Blue is a natural leader. Really excited she is pregnant and looking forward to the birth
So glad Amelia seemed to have recovered . She seemed so painful and it was apparent she had been in some kind of accident from her injuries. You said she likes to stay in her run. Maybe that is why she impacted from not moving and walking as much. She is a home body. Amelia has my ❤️ heart . Thank you for all you do to save these gentile giants.
Voted YES! Simple and easy using the link you provided. Good luck!
I’m so happy for all of you, a baby brings luck, love and joy. ❤❤❤ glad you made it through that crazy week. ☺️
Andy and Hank are big beautiful boys. Charlie wanted some attention, he got jealous of all the other gelding. Thanks for the great video. I'm happy to see Liam is doing well.
Aww congratulations 🤍🤍🤍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😇😇😇🥰🥰🥰🫏🫏🫏🐎🐎🐎
Hope the run of Vet visits is over - that’s a lot of stress & worry! Fun to know you’ll have a baby donkey from your rescue, Blue. Nothing cuter!
I am so sorry Julie, you have had the medical issues with the horses. I am very glad you were able to get them the help they needed! I know it is a worry for you! The horses have such a good home with you! I can imagine all the hard work these horses have done all their life, can take a toll on their bodies, where their insides don’t work as smoothly any more, just like people! You are doing such a wonderful job, Julie! Your horses and donkeys have a great retirement life!❤️🥰💜🥰Rancho Cucamonga, CA🌻
I grew up with horses and cows on a farm. I so enjoy your channel.🐴❤️
Donkeys are loyal wonderful animals. Thank you for saving the poor soul sent to slaughter. They are often abused or neglected livestock. Fun channel. I really appreciate what you are doing and bringing awareness to plight of equines at auction.
Aww, I cannot wait to see the new addition when they arrive. Congratulations!!
I love everything about your channel. And I even like the music 😄Thank you for the work you do.
Can't wait to see the baby donky!!!❤
The donkeys are so diverse in color. Love Madison, she’s gotten so big and happy, glad she will have another baby to play with. Hope you have a lovely calm winter. 🙏🕯️❤️🐎
It's so amazing how much dedication you have to these sweet horses. I will definitely donate to Giving Tuesday!
Congratulations Blue!
So happy to hear the horses are doing well. The love you have for them shows. I will definitely keep you and them in my prayers for continued good health.❤️🐴🫏

Congratulations on the expected new addition to Fletcher Farm Julie, Blue certainly has taken to you, lovely to see, and the two latest boys are both a good size, it’s lovely to see them all together in the field, and I am so happy that the sick ones are doing well now, sorry l can’t remember all their names 🤦♀️ must be my age lol, it can’t be easy for you guys either, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
I didn’t see where we vote for you to get the money for your foundation. What a deserving place for the money to go to. God bless you
You are such a good horsey mom! So happy that your prayers were answered and the impaction has left! Your vets are very good at diagnosing and treating, glad you have them for these retired beauties.
Tell people to check with their employers if they match gifts! Many do match and it’s a great way to multiply your donations.
Another great video. I’m always glad to see how everyone is doing.💕
All the donkeys seem very chill with one another. And, wow! what long ears Blue has; the pregnancy is an added bonus, that will be fun for you.
Amazing retirement for all these hard worked horses. Thank you for giving them a beautiful loving home. You guys are amazing
Amelia is Adorable 💋❣️🌟👀🤩🐴 Thank goodness she’s ok.
Glad that you are so animal 🦓 knowledgeable 🫏❣️
My best to you and all your family ☮️🌻🫶🏼
Thank you! When we first started this we didn’t have a clue what we were doing! We have learned along the way.
Your heart must have been in your stomach when the horses were ill. No more trauma or heartbreak, please. Julie and all the FFA crew for the wonderful care and heart you put into these beautiful creatures God has given us (you)! More videos-YAY!
Thank you for the incredible job that you do with all of your animals! Thank God everyone was eventually doing much better. Prayer works❣️🙏🏻❣️
Julie you and Corey should be so proud off what you have done for these majestic horses, and the lovely donkeys. I look forward to all your update. I will definitely give on the 28th. ❤️❤️🐎🐎🐎
Oh, what a weeks you had with the sorrows about your big babies! 😱
I‘m glad to hear that they are okay.
Love ❤ and greetings from Germany
I love how all your Belgians' tails get to grow out! Beautiful 🍀💝.
Voted ! Years of hard work - demand tribute ❤️Liane 🇩🇪
Hallelujah for AMELIA,
God job praying Julie.
Thank you Jesus
Congrats on the donkey baby confirmation.❤
Thank you!
Thank goodness sweet Amelia is doing well!! ❤
The Ardenner horses like to work so you should get some wagons for them. One four whel wagon with a watertank on it so you can wry the weight and use two or more horses. Also get a roller for flattening the grass areas, a roller making one square inch holes in the ground and so on. You probably find things like this for close to nothing! You will find that when you let the Ardenners work ( reasonably much ) they will be healthier and your vet bills go down. Thank you for taking care of these wondefull giants!
It’s amazing to know this rescue is right down the road. I would not think we have enough grass. Great Job. I love this channel.
I don’t know what it is about Hank but he’s such a beautiful draft to me.🥰
Congratulations on the new addition!
God bless you truely are an angel on earth
Everyone who claims they want a horse needs to see your videos to learn what is beyond, "They're So Pretty!"
I love DONKEYS! They are so smart. Sadly, they are also terribly MISUNDERSTOOD! Please make sure that you understand more about donkeys before getting any!
BLUE IS AMAZING!❤️
Blue is a cute donkie. I like her a lot
She is the sweetest little girl ever!
I love donkeys and wish I could take Blue home. They have such pretty faces and fantastic ears! Happy to hear the news and see all the updates. Best to you all.
Blue definitely looks pregnant!
Congratulations Blue! And what a troubled time you just went through. I am so glad everyone is ok again!
So, did you think that being a big hoof rescue mom would require nights spent in praying for a horse to poop???😮 you you are the best.❤❤
I am so happy for Blue, and y’all! That seems to have been the highlight of your last couple of weeks! You have to be just about worn out! I am glad to hear everybody is doing better though. I will get on your link to make sure and vote! Thank you for being such a wonderful organization!😊❤
think you guys need a bugger pasture soon! love the updates
Have you guys considered hay bags? I've heard that loose hay which is eaten fast causes impaction and colic. Because their stomach remains empty for long hours. But slow release hay bags keeps their digestive system running smoothly at all times. There's a video by "Stable horse training" about this. The guy really cares about his horses. He says scientifically, horses should consume hay from hay bags. And this eliminates causes of colic. I'm not a horse person. But he seems to know what he's talking about.
Yay! They donkeys are very respectful of one another's space here.
Always impatiently waiting for your videos. Love the work you do!!!
♥️ Hank and Andy ♥️ it’s very clear how much those animals trust and respect you!
Thanks for the update!! ❤❤❤
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for all the hard work you do, and the worry and anxiety you deal with in caring for all these horses & donkeys. You are appreciated! You certainly go the extra mile to help all of your animals!❤ May God Bless you in your continuing rescues.❤ 😍
