Got some ordered along with my new Mapex Venus kit. Those Yamaha Tour Custom thin maple shells are just too bright for me, poplar is just perfect to my ears. These should really let those Mapex toms sing. Thanks for the videos!

Going to try to put those my Olympic kit they didn’t fit the last time I checked, but maybe if I reverse the amounts around a little bit I might get them to work

Ran into the same issue today... got it fixed with some plastic spacers. Thanks 👍
Also, the bracket with the rubber grommet for the drum lug has a big end and small end... mine had to be installed the opposite of yours so the drum rests on the big end of the grommet, otherwise the metal part of the bracket contacts the metal hoop of the drum head and causes a nasty vibration sound.

It would be nice if they had instructions. 😂😂

I really like these mounts the toms really do sing with less hardware actually attached to the shell well worth the money

Hey Todd. Looking up Tom drum mounts and this video shows up. So different videos are critiquing lug bolts bending and hoops coming out of round due to these suspension systems causing concerns.
Some cool dude Karl mounted Tom mounts to side of shell and did away with suspension system. Gauger suspension mount system secures onto 4 lug nuts as opposed to 2 lug nuts like on the SPL system.
( frankly it has worked well for me. Maybe it's the lighter 7A sticks LOL). No grommet sitting against shell on gauger tom mount. ( I am curious about those 2.6mm hoops with the different mounts.)
You videos have come a long, long way since this video.
    Have a great one.

One thing to add- now once I mounted these toms on their arms, the position of the bracket behind the tom mount made them stick out quite far. With my added washer, it did not allow the tom arm tube to go past the bracket. I did take a pipe cutter and removed about an inch and a half of the tom arm to compensate, and they now fit great.

@@THEOLYMPIAGUY360 I had to go back and watch the video again to see what you meant. A gasket. That is what you're referring to. You know, it just now struck me about that- why didn't I just use a regular gasket that is supplied with the tom mount? It took me a minute to remember which kit that was. Those toms were actually off a "Drum Zone" kit. It was my first one. If I remember right, it did not have any gaskets with it. The mounts themselves mounted directly onto the shells. Super cheap set. In all actuality I should have made some for this. That you for the comment.

Put a larger plastic washer on the tom mount "before" the suspension mount instead of after.

Do the Toms hang or stay at an angle when you position the Toms

They will stay put where ever you want them.

Theirs supposed to be a thick felt pad that goes behind the Tom mount. Metal to metal is no good. I found this video while trying to figure out what the felt is called. 😂

Yeah I got nothing like that with mine.

I had the same issue. Solution. I have some old plastic rain gutter. I cut a piece out by putting the old mount on the plastic or rubber and tracing around it to match the 0ld mount. Painted it black. Put it between the old mount and the new bracket. Problem solved. Or cut up an old bicycle inner tube , trace the mount, cut it out, and make spacers between the old mounting bracket and the suspension bracket. Very nice rubber mounted drums. You can get them good and tight so they don't wobble. And you've also got a little cushion so that there's not so much stress on the screws. Because all in all, there's only those two small screws holding the drum to the bracket.

Hmm.... good ideas. I've been looking around the garage for things to use just like that. Inner tube is a great idea- thanks!
