I started off with playing lightning and went all in from day one till I finished all of the campaign, thats where I found your fireball/frostwall build and im having a blast with it, it DEFINITELY feels alot more fun of a playstyle to me! Appreciate that there are other builds out there for me to try out so thank you for this video and merry christmas!
You're welcome and have a happy new year!
I put Frost Wall on my Spark build just to block off certain annoying Rare mobs like mana sucking aura shit. Spark seems to go through the walls just fine, and electrocute unique gloves are super strong for crowd control
Yep, I came to this conclusion as well with my ball of lightning>lightning warp build. Ball of lightning passes right through the ice wall so often times I can keep them from getting to me when I need to
Im a fan of using both spark and Arc. Arc has the chain link which is a big dmg increase (the tooltip doesnt account for the remaining chain amount, and the link +1 then doubles the chain value. That overtakes chains 50% dmg dampening, expecially with the quality bonus of arc. Its like 14 or 16 chains total, which more the dmg by 15% each) which is not competing for a spot on spark. You also can use unleash on arc, as its mana cost increase is prohibitive to put on the main skill on an archmage build, but its not bad when u cast it only every so often. I throw execute on arc, for a oneshot when the elites HP goes below 40%.
Going for an arc main skill build, you can put unleash, 2x electrocute, and bludgeon on spark which overall feels the best, but spark as main skill is just too superior for clearing screens of white mobs (tho you dont rly use dmg links on spark with cpt lance's build, and it clears like crazy regardless, so its not terrible if you lean on spark a bit even with arc main skill). Bludgeon is SO good on spark; the mobs cant hit u if their on a slip and slide dance floor.
Have bludgeon on orb now, but its not quite the same level of dance fever as when it was on spark
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with copying a build, as long as you give credit to the original creator. In fact, due to the way 'meta' works, it’s common for multiple people to arrive at similar builds independently. Sharing and improving on each other's ideas is how the community grows!
I feel pretty mixed about credit as a requirement tbh, because it sometimes reinforces toxic build ownership. For example, I played a lot of Fireball / Frost Wall Stormweaver and if anyone wants to give a shout if that's what inspired them awesome. But if someone doesn't, that's fine, if you're playing the build (copy or not) it's as much yours as mine.
@@Tenkiei I'd say it's more of a courtesy than a requirement. If it's just inspiration, I don't think it's necessary, but if it is pretty much a copy, it just seems like the decent thing to do.
However, I do agree that a build creator doesn't "own" anything. The concept of that seems absurd to me.
I definitely agree with it being a courtesy. That's what I do whenever I copy something.
Tenkei, I first started watching you when Last Epoch first launched in super early access. You had a smite Hammerdin build that was hands down one of the most satisfying builds I ever had come together in an arpg before. And u were the only one. Not long after I saw a few folks with the same build
I Think spark scaling mutch higher then Cold Skills but u can actually combine both types which is intresting
I use spark and Frostwall combo. With archmage you can make Frostwall do big amounts of damage on big mobs and bosses as well as apply shock and ligthning exposure. You can also use Frostwall defensively if needed
on my sorc, I went spark for wave clear and I went lighting strike and bell from monk skills for single target boss/rare stun lock ,it worked really well since both based off lighting damage and I can swap between range and melee quarter staff for variety of play , there’s even a couple attack speed and cast sped nodes on sorc tree, it’s not super optimal but very fun for me
As far as switching between the builds goes.. I made the switch and only had to change my wand+focus+gems and the rest of my gear worked fine! Rest of gear is mostly spirit check, resists and mana which were already used for Frostwall/Fireball. Haven't tried the uber bosses yet but for t15s and level 82 maps it's totally fine! I know exactly what you mean about missing the safety of frost wall + freeze though!
How do you get enough spirit to use all those passives and do you use cast on shock or crit?
I am new player on poe 2, currently progressing act 2 cruel. From my leveling perspective is spark amazing. Just pick up damage nodes, put frost wall and firewall on the bar and enjoy the fun. It is nit gear dependant, if you check on of my uploads there us a footage if act 1 cruel boss kill and I am using solenoid gear from normal difficulty slammed with few exalts.
Im nearing the end of the campaign on character 7 which is spark. I'm pretty broke rn and worried about the scaling vs my investment. I'm hoping that even if slower, spark will still be fun. I appreciate the info on frostwall/fireball
You don’t need insane gear for it to be good, but it does scale very well. I don’t have ingenuity yet, and I’m breezing through everything. My gear is ok, but nowhere near the 50 divs tenkei spent, but it still functions very well. Did t16 map with all 8 boss points fine, t1 zesht, doing t2 tomorrow, and farm trial master.
What loot filter are you using?
you do not need ingenuity for spark to be good, it only adds around 30%dps. spark is not a budget build but after you spend around 8 divs on the build it starts outscaling fireball and by 30 divs you do 60% more dmg.
I see that spark can scale better than FW/FB but personally I like a combo skill playstyle better. Ppl that enjoy 1 button builds will have a great time on spark.
At the same time I think a one button build should do little less damage then combining 2 or more skills for your main damage deliverence method.
As I understand it thats how GGG envisioned combat anyways.
Imo spark will get adjusted , just like ES and Archmage in the development/balancing process.
If you want something similar ( using two "core" damage skills) Deadeye Explosive Shot/Shockburst rounds is a lot of fun where you utilize one skill for AoE and the other for single target.
Currently sitting on 7 div.
Is it possible to get a decent spark toon up and running?
I think you'll struggle with Spark on that budget.
How your mana* stay on full all the time on spark ?
@@runciao9080 his mama so.... im not gonna finish... its christmas
BC he has gem inspiration gem -40 skill cost
I don't like spark that much, but a lot of the other spells feel... undertuned...
I think it will be better after Christmas and buff stuff and also when they add more spells into the game.
Lightning Warp just feels more fun
spark feels terrible on lower begets. i don't think you can progress with spark, you have to play something else and than swap
If you play Spark and you use anything other than Spark, you failed to play Spark
Spark is obviously good for a lot of reasons, but it does give me that sort of boring feeling.
WHY IS YOUR HEALTH BLUE!
electrocute spark is very defensive
arc > spark
How many chains do you have?
@@Tenkiei I'm just doing banter :D Spark just feels cheap to me although it appears to be pretty good
aww, I was curious because Arc looks cool.
Yep, it does. And there are some chain lightning builds but I am not sure if they are as good
@@Tenkieii have an arc build and have been boosting it since day 1 and anytime i had to do a boss in cruel acts i would kill the boss in less than 15 seconds, but once i started mapping i noticed that i had so much damage i had no survivability and am trying to manage the difference to live more, my mana reserve is so low but arc hits so hard. Have only started doing t7 maps but struggling because i die to cold
What loot filter do you use?
A random one I grabbed from Tuna.
