    Hello there brother just came across your video and I have to say big fan. Quick question what is the lowest temperature that you guys have to go through? Because I'm planning to move to Kentucky in my land. And a half hour heavy duty wall tent. I am asking because I live in Miami Florida and the cost of living is killing me. I'm paying over $2,200 a month not including the electricity and the food. Brother that's the case I'll be for moving to my land and Kentucky and pay every month $163 a month for my land. What is the coldest temperature you guys had to go through. I know the coldest temperature in Kentucky gets what I'm located up to 15 and 12°?

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there bud. Thanks for the comment. We have gone through -15 F in our winters here. We have done three winters in the tent. It is not the same level of comfort as in a house obviously but there are some great things you get in terms of living with natures rhythms and such. It is possible to survive relatively comfortably in a tent like this during a cold season. The hard part is making sure your water system is still usable in freezing weather. We still haven't totally figured it out.

    How did you do the wood braces for the guide lines ? I want to do that, plus the door.

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The guide line braces are just secured to the deck with landscape wood and then wood angle braces. Then the guide lines are tied to the wood post.

    Hey love the videos, I'm currently living in a bell tent too and wondered if before you added your door did you have any leaking, I live in Ireland and the Heavy rain is coming through the bottom door zips both sides and I'm having to keep moping It up before it wrecks my carpet, would appreciate any help.

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there. Yes we had a bit of leaking and the way we ended up fixing it was by getting some sprayable silicon and we sprayed the whole zipper area around the footprint of the tent. We were never going to unzip that part of the tent anyway so it made sense for us. Hope this helps.

    • @gandalfthegreet
      @gandalfthegreet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lordsofpondland yes thank you, I'm looking into that now as we plan on building a door at some point but we have literally just moved over to Ireland so will be some time before we have enough resources and time to build one, love the way you have done it with the storage in the door, making use of otherwise wasted space

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there. Unfortunately our tent is no longer with us but I would still give it a positive rating. It was super durable and lasted being full time setup for almost four years. It is a Danchel tent. Quite affordable compared to some other brands. There were a couple of things we did to actually make it livable like the door and such but overall a really good tent. Just make sure you watch our other video on the tour of the tent for more tips. Hope this helps!

    cool video! How is the tent holding up? I'm going to buy one and was wondering what size would you suggest for two people and possibly a little dog. Thanks for the video. I have alot of ideals and questions. Did you get the warranty with the tent? And was It helpfull if you did? I watched a couple of videos and subscribed to your channel. Neat stuff man, keep up the good work

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its been holding up wonderfully. We have had it set up full time for 2.5 years and it has never ripped or broken in any way and it has been through a lot of different storms and such. I would recommend to get the biggest size. The reality is that a 20footer still isn't huge and the more space you have the better. It feels smaller just because bell tents have low walls. We did not get the warranty with the tent as we purchased it from a guy who buys pallets of returned stuff. I do recommend the Danchell tents though. Really has been durable for the money. So glad you have enjoyed the videos. Thanks a bunch for subscribing and let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Having a wood wall helps stop condensation ,having it on both ends will stop [t. You left out a important part the gue
    set above the door for bracing , you don.t want a wobblie wall. lol

    • @lordsofpondland
      @lordsofpondland  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t need to but a brace above the door because I screwed the 2 by 12 plank into the wooden deck. Good point though and didn’t know about the condensation and doors. With the one door we still experienced condensation without a rain fly. Thanks for the comment!
