    You forgot to mention that Z9X pro comes with the V11 IR only remote, while the Z2000 and UHD5000 come with the V12 which is also bluetooth. This is what will mostly decide me to buy the 2000 pro even if the V12 remote can be bought separately for 45€, but then the price gap is smaller.

    Pretty thorough. I may have missed it but the Z20 pro is also a great option if you need a HDD. I have a Z2000 and Z9X. If you have a NAS, I don't think the Z2000 is really necessary unless you want a cleaner looking device that will fill up some rack space. The Z9X and Z20 are great and the Z2000's equal in a smaller form factor. The only reason I would really go with the 50000 is if you are not going to be able to use ethernet to connect a NAS and want 32TB of local storage and the upgraded DAC in the 50000.

    I purchased a Zidoo Z2600 which I received on 10/19/2023. After getting it all setup and last min testing. I powered down the unit on 10/25. The next day 10/26 I went to power it up and it would not come up. The contacted the seller (futeko) and shipped it back for a replacement as that unit is dead. It did not last a week. After receiving an email from the seller they state it may have an internal power supply issue but will confirm when they get it back. They will then send me out a replacement unit. I was enjoying the unit but don't know why it would no longer power up.

  • @UWtvx
    @UWtvx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I bought the Z1000Pro when it came out and all the menus still look exactly the same. There was one update after few month and then never ever any other update, even the player has bugs it was never fixed. I can't speak for the Z2000Pro or UHD5000 but based on my experience with Zidoo they do not work out bugs and regularly update.
    Here are the bugs I experience with the Z1000Pro:
    1) Connecting to your NAS drive can be a headache and getting it to work might take a while. Specially after restart the re connection takes ages.
    2) It can happen that suddenly a movie stop playing and the system freeze up. Need to turn off the power switch and on to reboot where you then might face problem 1)
    3) If you return from a movie to the menu there is a "normal" flicker where your TV turns black then shows the menu but sometimes it stays black not showing anything and
    might flicker for a second showing the menu just to be black again. You have to blindly start the movie again then exit out of the movie or you need to turn power off/on to reboot
    Even with those problems it is the best media player I could find. Saddest part is the lack of software bug fixes and non existent software maintenance except 1-3 month after the initial release of a new model and then nothing more.
    After watching this video I don't see the need to upgrade to Z2000Pro or UHD5000, maybe getting a good price catch for the Z1000Pro will do just fine.

    I got a question in regards Zidoo not being able to produce Dolby Vision natively and I'll quote another user who commented on another TH-cam channel and need to get your thoughts on this. Here's what he said:
    "Does this new player model output FULL Dolby Vision to a DV display, especially if you have ripped a 12 bit FEL dual layered 4k Blu-ray from your collection to MKV? In the past these kinds of media players had trouble with Dolby Vision compatibility even though they listed Dolby Vision in the supported HDR formats."
    And here was his follow-up...
    "I was looking through a certain website I won't name here and they explained what the Zidoo is doing. It will read the dual layered DV stream and only send the metadata, triggering the DV display. It cannot read the video part of the Full Enhancement layer nor combine the HDR10 layer with the differential layer to reconstitute the 12 bit DV file.
    So, in summation: 10 bit MEL or 12 bit FEL Dolby Vision rips will only play back as 10 bit MEL because of a limitation of the SOC being used in their current players."
    So can you confirm this issue on this model?

    Your videos are very informative! I do have one question. Can the Zidoo's launch a movie with the original disc menus and bonus features in tact? Also is there a way to do that with a ripped movie without a Zidoo on a smart TV?

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as the video is ripped as an ISO or a Make MKV BD backup you will have all of the menus available played from the Zidoo. As far as the smart TV goes you can use an app like Plex to watch MKVs but you won't have menus because Plex does not support ISO or BD backups. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      @@TwoGuyzTech This helps immensely! Thank you! Ultimately I'd love the have the menus available even though I know that would take up a ton of space. Lol. But I imagine this is the kind of project that's always ongoing. But for what I'm looking for it sounds like a Zidoo will suit me best for that. Though I may also get a NAS for everything else. I'm going to use uhd5000 as my main as soon as I receive it, but my question is I have a synology NAS in my system, how do i have or save the exact movie posters which I fixed and matched already on my z20 pro so I don't have to go through matching and fixing all my movies all over again? Have you tried the new Dune model (Dune HD Premier 4K Pro). It does all the same but runs official Android TV. Has a drive bay and runs a Dune app which runs in a specialized Linux container for DV profile 7. All for 200 bucks. Just wondering because zidoo is always on my mind.
    That and this just caused me to check their website and they have a new model, not out and no data. The Dune HD Pro One 8K Plus which looks awesome.
    I have zero interest in 8K but it supports the VS10 Dolby Vision video processing like the old realtek models.. Below are some specs. 350 isn't cheap but that's a lot of power.
    A76 core (with very high performance), and also an extra core for system needs. The resulting CPU performance is up to 2x more than in RTD1619DR. GPU has been upgraded to Mali G57. Combined with super-fast LPDDR4X and super-fast eMMC, this gives blazing fast overall system performance. Total Antutu score exceeds 300,000 points, which is significantly more than in the previous generation media players.
    8 GB operating memory
    This huge amount of operating memory gives the best performance even in the most heavy use cases. 64-bit Linux kernel allows the efficient use of 8 GB RAM for caching of system and apps code and data. Apps launch, run and switch quicker. More memory can be used for graphics caching, which further improves the performance of the user interface.

    What’s the difference from setting up your own htpc by using an (Intel nuc or AMD mimi pc) with a DAS? Also, wouldn’t a diy setup be more upgradable and flexible?

      The home PC won't playback 3D MKV files or 3D ISO files, it also uses more power.

      @@originaltrilogy1 If I'm not mistaken kodi plays 3D ISOs and if you setup a HTPC with a intel NUC or any mini pc, your setup will be low power use.

    Is the picture quality the same for all 3 products?

      I read somewhere that the picture quality is supposed to be slightly better on the 2000 and even more on the 5000 due to better power supplies, but I highly doubt it. This is the same chip, same picture software etc...

      That's always been our stance. While a HTPC can be really powerful, dealing with Windows sucks. I find a lot of value in an appliance designed to play your movie library well, rather than maintaining a PC to do the same thing, which we did for several years, and never had an experience we felt was good enough to recommend others to do the same thing.

      @AeropathX I won't say that it's the best player in the world but I have HTPC, Zidoo, Nvidia Shield and Apple TV. And I have been comparing them to figure out which one suits my use cases. Turns out that Zidoo is the best for local media. For example, it has an amazing Dolby Vision engine and it performed the best when it comes to 4K upscaling the 1080p bluray rips. It also converts sdr content to hdr, This includes the great poster wall interface with a well organized media library and also the functionalities and customization it allows me to do.

    Is it possible to install Plex on any of these? If yes is it possible to pass-truough the audio?

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching! In theory you could, but we're not sure how well it would work or whether or not you can pass through the audio. The Zidoo players are meant to replace Plex anyway, so we don't see the value in trying to sideload Plex rather than using the media management features in the Zidoo software, which are superior in our opinion. Hope this helps!
