My 11 year old self used to imagine going to this theme park in real life.😅 I 90 something percented this game on PSP...(nearly everything but the unlockable PS2 stuff and the chicken challenges) I can't imagine EVER doing that again, although I'd probably be down for a nostalgic playthrough... But yeah. Nowadays I wonder what happened with the development behind the scenes (I've heard that this is from the creators of Simpsons Hit and Run as well) The platforming is sort of basic, although the environments were a little interesting. (Aside from the last world, the space one, where it is mostly waiting for floating platforms) The rounds for minigames go on for WAY too long, and are just copy paste turrent target shooting, or somewhat basic bowling. The racing on the box boils down to drive, clash, let the AI shoot/drive for you, then unclash at the very end to win every time. Every race nearly feels the same. All the characters get extra costumes and cars, but it usually means platforming around to get some random things/money/crystals, and then talking to the same characters again. I kinda like the silly music, although i heard that the Acapella group Spiralmouth didn't like when they added instruments to this ost. But most songs are kinda parodies/remixes of other well known songs (like Night on Bald mountain). My fav track/ost is La Brea Carpits. I love the "end of the world" theme and there's a very pretty section in the middle of its ost. Oh! And i never finished the "chicken challenges," where you were supposed to talk to a chicken (?) to start a timed mission to collect all the coins in the level...but the coins were replaced with... chickens. 🤔 I guess it was just a silly filler thing for...more content??? But yeah. The sprinkling of crude humor, "die o ramas," and fart/burp loading sounds could not salvage much of this unpolished game.
I still like this game. But the fact this was released in 2005...no wonder the models look like super desaturated watered down versions of twinsanity's models. I still stand by the fact that the clash mechanic and race/platform hybrid was a good concept and should've been expanded upon in future titles. You can definitely tell this game was made with the focus on multiplayer especially with the fact that it can connect with the psp and even has stages you unlock for doing said crossplay with songs reusused from twinsanity.
I remember playing this game a lot as a kid. I’ve spent a lot in the trick tracks and playing a lot of penguin bowling. Looking at it now, they should have just stuck with one play style because the game feels it has more platforming than racing.
I still had fun with Crash Tag Team Racing despite everything said, the game is fine, it does both of what the Crash Bandicoot series is known for but is a master at non of them, which isn't a bad thing.
Do remember good times playing this on PSP as a kid maybe perhaps that l just love racing games that allows you to destroy and blow up others heh. Yeah l do agree the game is way too easy making the game boring to play l also find the clash powerups, the ones you drop on the track way too powerful, not to mention Dr Cortex's clash weapon is so powerful you can just kill your opponents with a couple of charged shots you can kill multiple of them with a single shot! One thing l do find funny is that you can piss off the NPC's by talking to them constantly without finishing the quests and the game actually starts breaking the 4th wall at times. Yeah l do wish that they did polish the game more. What makes it more disappointing for me is that this game was developed by Radical Entertainment, the same company that developed one of my favourite childhood games The Simpsons Hit And Run.
I enjoyed CTTR for what it was. It was not top tier racing or platforming, but the combination of genres along with the clashing mechanic made it interesting enough to be worth the money. 7/10 - not an insult. 70% is a passing grade. It's too bad this was Radical Entertainment's best game.
I don’t get how you say this game is lazy but praise Shadow the hedgehog,Trash team rumble and Crash 1…games that are awful. CTTR is a fun game and a good that actually teaches you how to play it unlike the original CTR. CTR doesn’t do a good job at teaching you it’s mechanics and its content is padded too death and its track design is mostly mediocre…CNK has better tracks…nitro fueled proves this. I love CTR but it’s definitely not Mario Kart.
If it's hard for you to understand then let me help you. It's called "My opinion and overall taste in media is different from yours" I actually have a video coming up talking about this specific topic.
I understand it’s your opinion but it’s an opinion that’s weird especially considering the games you consider ‘good’ lol. You can dislike a game and acknowledge it’s fun and enjoyable.
Mario Kart double dash and onward destroys CTR. Mario kart 8 is better then CTR especially in track deisgn. CTR has good controls but that means nothing when the tracks are bland. Oxide station,N.gin labs and Cortex castle are only good tracks. In nitro fueled I mostly play the CNK tracks and bonus tracks.
@Teh69thSpartan I don't have an opinion on those crash games. It's on par with the original crash bandicoot game funny enough as far as crash Tag Team Racing is concerned (as far as my personal enjoyment)
I remember the fart sounds in the loading screen ah the memory's

I'm sorry but Ioved this game growing up

Please review the rest of the console games (CTR, CNK, Crash Bash, Crash 4 IAT)
That's the plan

I have a guilty pleasure for this game. It really was a lazy game that was quite broken, but I still enjoy coming back to it at times.

I love this game growing up, can’t wait for my son to get old enough to play it too!
10:07 that's what i thought when i played Twinsanity.
i always wanted to try this one but i was always distracted with other games but you can see the crash franchise started its decline

The stunt arena was fun and exploring the park and getting all the die o Rama's
Shame the racing was the worst part
The Loaten... it has a face.
This game is a lot of things but idk abt it being lazy

Worst. Crash game. Ever.
Worse than Crash Bash, Boom Bang & Ripto's Rampage?

@@Reigndolph well, i can say you ain't missing much on these other ones.
