This is probably the only crash tag team racing rewiew on youtube that has platforming and racing as positives and maybe the only tag team racing rewiew that classifies the game as good I only saw one other rewiew except this that doesn't say tag team racing is bad mediocre or just awful
The thing is, it's a crash racing game and CTR set the bar for its successors and none couldn't meet those expectations. CNK was acceptable but CTTR is a regression to say the least. A game series known for Innovation of the Kart Racing Genre ended up copying mario kart twice in one game
The collectables, large number of interactive set pieces, character dialogue screens, unlockable costumes and vehicles, and focus on driving really shows how this game was made by the same folks as The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
While on the loading screens you could also fart, exactly, I think it was by pressind square or circle and if you pressed it while holding down on the d-pad it would be a bit slowed down and if you were holding up instead it would be rather quick I do remember playing this game on a restaurant when I was a kid and I remember spamming the buttons on the loading screen lol

I would come home after elementary school and play this with my best friend and die laughing from the farting and burping of the loading screens. I loved the ninja penguins, music, and remember the story fondly again. Thank you for reminding me of this part of my childhood ♥️
The best part of this game is that it's so chaotic and there's no need to worry about balance since online doesn't exist (Soundtrack is my favorite too)

I heard originally Crash Tag Team Racing had no platforming segments (or at least not to this extent) and was just a spiritual successor to The Simpsons Hit & Run. But then Vivendi complained and forced Radical Entertainment to spend about six(?) months creating worlds specifically with platforming in mind. Take this with a grain of salt, because I can't find where I got that info.

Not because this game made me hate the series or anything, far from it. I loved this game as a kid. Hey, when I played it I was astounded that they mixed racing and platforming in one game. I loved it. It was a blast to play with friends. You did miss one thing though, Coco's infamous line.
The only downside to this game are the 'dumbed-down' AI drivers that drive your merged vehicle in the arena battles and sometimes within the actual races - nothing sucks more than respawning due to being driven into dead-ends or getting flipped over when you're a gunner. A nice tidbit is that the race music changes if you're in first place, or, in sixth place during the race. Despite some of the mini-games, this was a fun game.
Did anyone here know that the characters had action animations when you collect powerups and press the analog sticks (R3) ...or when you stop the car ? Also while racing thar back mirror was a lot of help when you were able to throw stuff behind you. :D

And if it wasn't for Pasadena I probably wouldn't be a furry because I was so in love with her. I played this game as a young kid and as a 22 year old I still think about this game a lot. What a lot of people that hate on this game don’t understand is how amazing it was to play this. An open world crash game where you get to do whatever you want and not be stuck on a constant plot progression line. This was an absolute banger of a game
My favorite character was the chicken commentator that changed his wig in every cutscene! Great review, brought back loads of memories. I spent hours just jumping on NPC heads and knocking them off of platforms

The Best part of the Crash Tag Team Racing is when the easter egg appears in the loading screen, when you click the buttons it makes the fart and the burping noise lol!😅
I love the Hoel burping and farting load time screens. they were just so funny to interact with. and if you move the left analogue stick around you can hear all these noises too. just crazy I think!
Stumbled upon your channel while also on a spree of old game reviews and one of the things you can actually notice is that even if a game didn't quite hit, it wasn't *just another cash grab* . CTTR tried to improve using the gun and shoot while giving a fun little platforming and minigames to get to races in singleplayer so you wouldn't just "win race, go to next one" all the time. Nostalgia does cloud my judgement a lot and if you tried to have an online match in it there would be no balance, but as a couch co-op or singleplayer it's a solid game. Good vid too
19:19, Suprisingly this was one of my favorite parts of the game, you could also do Farts too and when you changed the position of the left stick I believe it would change the pitch, so you would get high pitch chimpmunk Burps and Farts and Slow Low Pitch Fat Albert Farts it was Great
Oh man, this game was my childhood. I never got tot the final space level, I was quite young and incapable. Seeing you play it is like opening a whole new world. There's all this attached nostalgia to the entire game except for that part. The music was crazy and as a child, the loading screen was hilarious.
Something I noticed in this game, when splitting from a clashed car, you get a speed boost.. and if your character has clashed with a character from another team (crash with cortex for example), the AI will very gladly split at the last second to gain a speed boost and get 1st place alone (rather than share it with you), the cheeky bastard!
I used to like this game a lot until I realized that a lot of the track design was just incredibly safe and the racing itself just wasn't very fun. I feel like combat racing was realized a whole lot better, ironically enough, in jak x which was created by naughty dog themselves because not only was the car handling a whole lot more conductive to a good arcade racer, the weapons felt good to use and the track design didn't suffer for the sake of facilitating the games main gameplay mechanic. Plus, the game has one of the best soundtracks in a game period.
Honestly it is the only Crash Bandicoot game I had and itis still perfect for me. I liked exploring the open world, minigames, quests. Especially Die-O-Ramas, I thought it is the most hilarious thing ever in my childhood. I enjoyed these all even more than the races. One of the games I completed 100% on my ps2
@Balakeh The vehicle sections were some of my favorite parts as well! I especially like the jeep levels. The water levels are always the worst, even in previous games.
4:49 I have convinced myself that probably someone among the devs was a Happy tree friends fan, the amount of crude humor around the die-o-ramas and gags, just less graphic
Did not expect the massive dose of nostalgia when watching this one. I know I really enjoyed the game but it must have really left a strong impression. I really want to play it again now. 🤩
While it's not my favorite Crash game, I still like it. My favorite die-o-rama is the one where Crash spins into Chicken Stu (I think) and he smacks and kicks Crash away.
I love how chaotic this game is and the die o ramas and other funny cutscenes are the funniest. The level environments are also great, plus you can interact with nina which is rare.
I have a lot of fond memories about this game- one core memory of this in my head was St Patrick’s day, must be 2007 where I played this after school then headed out for some Irish celebrations (totally random but the one core memory in my head that relates to this game)
The only points people could legitimately dislike is the easy difficulty and the game length. But honestly, I loved playing this game and I always played the races in this so often. What joy would I get from racing repeatedly you may ask? The amount of dialogue each character has during the races, that's what. To my ears and eyes, almost every race is a different experience as its based not only on how you do in the race but how your character reacts. Gives them more character and makes them more alive in a sense, rather than being almost silent all the time in past kart racers. They would only annoying if you don't like the characters at all. There is also a lesser known feature where you can have your character do a taunt animation during a race. That actually blew my mind as a kid and enjoyed using it just to watch them. In general, I think it was the characters I enjoy the most when it comes why I like this game a lot. The combination of the dialogue and the animations and the great soundtrack just makes this kart racer for me.
I think this game was trying to rival Mario Kart Double Dash with the 2 in one car ideas, as well as rival death battle racing games like Twisted Metal & Jak X.
Ahh my favourite game of all time! I’m so happy to scroll through the comments and see everyone talking about how it was their childhood game, like me. So glad that this was a positive review, it really is one of the best games I have ever played
Understandable. Honestly i think all of this game flaws are just nitpickys for me, but if i dont count the original trilogy, this is one of my favorite Crash games and one of my favorite racing games.
Finally a decent review of this game. I felt a lot of people looked over this game because it's in the "bad Crash era". But I remember growing up having fond memories of 100%ing this game. I recall I mainly only missed out on the chickens because getting all of them back under time limit is tedious. I actually loved the die-o-rama too, I find them hillarious. I love how much effort they're doing to the animations. The racing could be better indeed but it was fun while at it.
It absolutely is imo. It had a very fun take on crash and the universe, added neat characters and the setting and open world stuff was very very good. The racing was a bit lacklustre that is true. Best thing though for me is the cutscenes and voice acting. Nolan North as N'Gin is amazing. Could tell everyone had so much fun recording.
This brings back some kindergarten memories from god knows how many years ago. Me and my friends sitting in my room playing Burnout 3, Crash bandicoot, GTA San Andreas, etc. good times
CTTR, I loved it because blowing up other racers was SO satisfying. Also dropping a cow, piano and NUCLEAR SUBMARINE! Never ceases to make me laugh. Also I can't help but feel those Ninja Penguins are the security teams for the theme park.
Loved this one ,sure it's a lot of nostalgia, but while I didn't like the racing much the platforming, music, humour of the game and minigames made up for it to me. And the shooting race modes was a nice addition
God this game is literally my favourite game of all time. I played this as a 7 or 8 year old religiously and I can’t tell you HOW MUCH I want it to be remastered.
I remember playing this game and taking my time to traverse through every thing and try to complete everything. It’s actually such a fun game. I miss when I had a game cube.

19:19,
Suprisingly this was one of my favorite parts of the game,
you could also do Farts too and when you changed the position of the left stick I believe
it would change the pitch, so you would get high pitch chimpmunk Burps and Farts
and Slow Low Pitch Fat Albert Farts it was Great
Oh man, this game was my childhood.
Ooh that explains A LOT
love your content i actually liked most of the crash game! its one of my childhood.
First person to review the game, without cheaseing all the races.
I hate that about people reviewing the game "if you go out of your way to make the game worse then its not that good!" No shit Einstein!
Co-op is the best!!! The sweet feeling of betraying by unfusing just meters before the goal is **chef's kiss**
I don’t know why Wrath of Cortex gets so much flak, I loved that game. I liked the levels, the boss fights, and the Coco levels were great too.
I love that game as well! One of my favourites
@Balakeh The vehicle sections were some of my favorite parts as well! I especially like the jeep levels. The water levels are always the worst, even in previous games.
@Balakeh Very true, I agree
a huge part of my childhood. hearing bits of the soundtrack in the video gave me huge nostalgia vibes
used to love just searching for the power crystals In the world as a kid wow thank you for this video, brings back nostalgia man
4:49 I have convinced myself that probably someone among the devs was a Happy tree friends fan, the amount of crude humor around the die-o-ramas and gags, just less graphic
Vid reaches 0:02, already thumbed it up 2 seconds earlier 😉😉😉
dude you’re so cool
Did not expect the massive dose of nostalgia when watching this one. I know I really enjoyed the game but it must have really left a strong impression. I really want to play it again now. 🤩
While it's not my favorite Crash game, I still like it. My favorite die-o-rama is the one where Crash spins into Chicken Stu (I think) and he smacks and kicks Crash away.
I love how chaotic this game is and the die o ramas and other funny cutscenes are the funniest. The level environments are also great, plus you can interact with nina which is rare.
I can't help but say that they need to include that Rocket-ish vehicle that N.Gin rides into Nitro Fueled
I don’t remember it fondly, but it’s nice that you have a lot of good things to say.
Favourite thing about this game was moving the left analog stick when hitting triangle or x on the loading screens.. way too much entertainment!
I have a lot of fond memories about this game- one core memory of this in my head was St Patrick’s day, must be 2007 where I played this after school then headed out for some Irish celebrations (totally random but the one core memory in my head that relates to this game)
Is this gonna be every saturday? I like the series idea, like a retrospective
The Skyfoogle nah, I just wanted to get this one out because I was excited to replay it, no schedule for them but I’d say every two weeks or so
@@WumpaLewis 👌
@@WumpaLewis i would totally watch a series on it if you play through the game, and when will wille wumpa cheeks get in ctrnf
Apparently they never heard of the saying ' if it isn't broke, don't fix it'
Ahh my favourite game of all time! I’m so happy to scroll through the comments and see everyone talking about how it was their childhood game, like me. So glad that this was a positive review, it really is one of the best games I have ever played
This game was SO much fun that it’s actually PERFECTION.
I played the crap out of this game, Hell I remember every bit of dialogue off by heart
I remember Coco's dialogue
Yes YES YEEEESSSS
@@PinkGoldPeach23105 Nathaniel Bandy wants you dead
This was definitely my favorite crash game as a kid lol
Damn I remember the chickens and me raging, good times. And I’m not a furry but Pasadena thooo....
19:18 You can even do fart sound from what i remember
This brings back some kindergarten memories from god knows how many years ago. Me and my friends sitting in my room playing Burnout 3, Crash bandicoot, GTA San Andreas, etc. good times
i didnt know that but you can upgrade your weapons after unlocking all the charctars cars
Yeah, this game has a lot of content.
I JUST realised that chick & stew makes chicken stew.. took me almost 20 years to get that joke..
I wish they would remake this for the switch!
CTTR, I loved it because blowing up other racers was SO satisfying. Also dropping a cow, piano and NUCLEAR SUBMARINE! Never ceases to make me laugh.
Also I can't help but feel those Ninja Penguins are the security teams for the theme park.
This was the racing game of my childhood
RealJake2Cool I love this game it was my childhood favourite game
finally a good crash youtuber that appreciates the classics

Loved this one ,sure it's a lot of nostalgia, but while I didn't like the racing much the platforming, music, humour of the game and minigames made up for it to me. And the shooting race modes was a nice addition
The way you gave a false ending got me 😂. I was literally like 'wha?? I don't remember this?'
This game was the first true open world Crash game that Twinsanity should've been.
God this game is literally my favourite game of all time. I played this as a 7 or 8 year old religiously and I can’t tell you HOW MUCH I want it to be remastered.
I remember burping and farting in the loading screen too, I loved this game
I remember playing this game and taking my time to traverse through every thing and try to complete everything. It’s actually such a fun game. I miss when I had a game cube.
Fun fact: if you press the circle button in the loading screen you fart.
I spent way too much time with this game.
You can also produce farting noises during the loading screens.
Thanks for this video.. lots of people talk trash about this game but I remember being a kid and 100% the game because it was so fun unlocking all the cars and outfits.
Young me loved this game
Young me felt the same.
