@@SoundBritish There's no equivalent for penny in Persian, because unit of money is different here. But in this idiom we use 'دوزاری' which was a 2 Rial coin in the past. The coin is not used today because of extreme inflation in Iran in recent decades.
It's weird, but I heard the same story a couple of hours ago, and unfortunately it was true, but your ability to use so many interesting expressions in such a short story is impressive. The one I heard was much simpler from a lexical point of view😂 The main thing you taught me is to really love English! Cheers❤️
