  • Here is an older video clip, which combines a single slide from my data analysis teaching with some audio commentary about that slide. It illustrates the interplay between different levels of analysis in IPA, and the level of detail which coding is likely to involve. Its not the most dynamic of videos, I'm afraid, but when I made it, it allowed me to test that the link between the TH-cam page and the Tumblr one.

Hello Michael, I'm curious about the tool you used to analyze data, it looks like a Word file being divided into three columns, with the transcript in the middle, and notes on both sides. Do you mind sharing how you make that three columns?

Hi. Yes, it's nothing fancy, just a table in Word!

This has been really helpful (currently working on an IPA assignment). Could I ask what the research question/aim was for this, or the title of the project?

Jumped the gun asking that, just found the paper. Thank you for this video!

The wider project was a (long time ago) chapter in my PhD, and some of that work was published as this paper ... onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/casp.770

Can you please tell me if I opt for IPA then what would be the appropriate ontological and epistemological position of the researcher?

It is very helpful and give really the idea from starting point to completion. I am very grateful that you have shared such a helpful and useful sample.

Sorry, I didn't get the major point, so what IPA really helps to do? There's the 'Emily' case, she's informing about herself saying something, so... what? If we'd extract anything useful from the text, we might have put it to the below sections of it adding the latter to the former. I haven't seen anything new to add
