The scary part about the location is the calmness and how it doesn’t look like a place where somebody would drown.

Very much so. I took a pic a few weeks ago for high up where you can see the spot, and where Jeff was found… I believe 5 days later. And it wasn’t very far away. I will post later in my community tab.

perhaps the calmness and solitude was something that draw Jeff there. There was not much analysis or reasons and circumstances of Jeff's last days were made, guess due to lack of Estate's interest in such matters. But he's been driving these streets, meeting with people, someone must have shown the spot to him, and he probably took liking to it. Thanks for the footage, you've done fantastic work. I wonder if reconstruction of events as they were described by Foti was done by the police. Probably not. Memphis keeps the secret of Jeff's demise under lock and key...

Man I discovered his music 3 years ago and never stopped listening to him everyday ever since. I relate to his art so much and It hurts so much knowing there will never be anyone like him ever again. He died before I was born but I still feel his loss so deeply it physically hurts. Still with his such short span of life he managed to change my outlook on life forever. Didn't even know music could have such profound effect on a person's life before discovering his art.

@@noz_redna That's what I was thinking, too. Maybe a large charter boat (you have a white one at the end of your video), but why would a tug boat be out here? It is a boat ramp, not a shipyard. I've heard the same thing over the years but never saw the video of where it happened.

Great video. Details I'd never heard before, like where he hung out.
I remember when I heard he had died. I was having lunch with a group of co-workers at Johnie's on Wilshire Blvd (shooting location of the Honey Bunny scene from Pulp Fiction) right across the street from the Petersen Automotive Museum where, just a few weeks earlier, Biggie Smalls had been killed. We were all examining the bullet hole in Johnie's front window when one of my co-workers said, "Did you hear? Jeff Buckley drown in the Mississippi River. They haven't found his body yet." The news knocked the wind right out of me.
I was fortunate enough to see him perform twice, first at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip when Grace first came out, & again at the Hollywood American Legion Hall about 6 months later. I actually met him at a Nymphs show at the Strand in Redondo Beach back in 1992, I believe, but of course, I had no idea who he was at the time, just that he was a friend of Inger's.
    What a loss...💔✌🏼

Thank you very much for this journey through the places that Jeff has prevented in recent months, so that we can feel these moments even more and see what has surrounded him lately. By the way, in the Memphis Park, which Jeff Buckley liked to visit, there are 2 commemorative plaques that his mother installed. He loved to visit this park and even wanted to get a job there as a volunteer caretaker. I think it would be a good idea to show this place in a video someday!

I was 27yrs old at the time and still, as a now 55yr old, no singer/artist has ever resonated with me before or since like Jeff did. It must have hurt deep to the core hearing that Jeff passed away while you were an early fan of his...It hurts me knowing he's gone and I only discovered his music last year. Do you have any more information about Jeff's friend who was with him at the time when he was swimming in the river? I feel like if my friend was far out in the river I'd be keeping a sharp eye on them as well as the current and as soon as they'd disappear id be calling out for them and after no responses immediately call emergency services. I'm in no way saying anything about this friend but something just feels so unreal about the situation of his death. Putting this aside, I am so grateful for the existence of Jeff, his beautiful voice and unique sound. May that earth angel rest in peace...
