I'm 28. I loved MMA since I discovered it when I was 15. Couldn't afford to train because of financial constraints. Now I'm working full time and can finally afford a decent gym membership. Connecting to my passion give me so much joy that I want to extract as much as I can with the time I have. Today was my 2nd class and I can't think about anything else than how to land a full roundhouse kick and increase stamina.

I can only get to training 3 times a week, every other day I’m up at 4:20 to get to the gym and use the heavy bag and get my runs in

    Be gentle!
I train as a hobby and I used to love going to the gym and doing nothing but hitting the bag, varying my intensity every 15 minutes or so.
I'd have rounds and rounds of light technique then 5 minutes of max speed less power then more rounds of chilling. Then i would peak with a round of total destruction: hit the bag as often and hard as you can for the round.
After two weeks of that my ankles and knees occasionally would throb with pain. Bad idea! Now i do all the rounds without the hardest one and just up the speed.

This video is GOLD! I want to be a teacher and an mma fighter. I don't aim to world champion status, but in national circuits yes. Grazie Joe!

I work nights most of the gyms in my area open by the time I’m headed to work but I’m still going to try and join.

Thanks for the video. One question I have is did you ever lift and train kickboxing in the same day? Or did you always keep them on separate days?

Wouldn’t it be nice if boxing wasn’t beholden to capitalism? Just be willing to train hungry.
